What happens when you bury Food Scraps in a hole for several weeks

  • Foods scraps are amazing for your garden plants and trees. By burying food scraps, coffee grinds, egg shells, egg cartons etc this will attract a ton of worms, microbes, grubs etc which will create fertile soil. This technique replaces existing poor soil conditions with rich organic matter such as worm castings. Worm castings are the worlds best organic natural fertilizer. Most people throw all their food scraps into the trash, not knowing how beneficial they are to the garden. Not to mention it is good practice for helping regenerate soil and protect the environment. Imagine if everyone did this.

    If you were ti bury scares untie ab exustubg gardens raised bed etc.,how long before you can safely plant veg?

      I would give it 1 year then plant with it. Just to be safe

    I thought about digging a trench of some sort about 6-8 inches deep and start with a nice layer of grass clippings and leaves & cover it with food scraps cover it back up to make an organic garden bed out of the spot using the earth lol

      Exactly that is what I do. Often times I will plant a tree in the same hole I composted. Everything will grow amazing in this hole but let it breakdown about 6 months first
