I would normally agree, but I do feel like they were playing on our expectations. Plus, it was interesting because it seemed like Ru Paul didn't expect it so quickly either lol so it put pressure on him and he gave some great answers.
When he was 28 he didn't have a penny to his name ( his words) and was sleeping on his sister's couch, and had no car. and look at him now, I'm younger than 28 so if he can get this far and this successful in life, why can't I? Thank you Ru. I'm studying to be a nurse and hope to be a physician one day. Your story certainly is very inspiring.

Why not go to Med school now if you want to be a doctor? It seems like becoming a nurse first will just take longer if your goal is medical doctor. I remember feeling that way at your age...I would compare myself to others and think, I'm so young and I can become all these things! It is a good feeling. Life is weird though. It isn't as open-ended as it appears. It's almost like a life path is already set out for you when you're born, but you don't see the path until you've walked far down it and you turn around. And then it just becomes so obvious that the path you walked was exactly as it should have been and exactly where you were always headed.
@@mygirldarby bc in my country you can't go straight to university after highschool accept if you're extremely gifted (like, IQ 150) so us regular folks have to take it step by step by becoming a nurse first. It sucks but that's life

i noticed something, when he’s on his show he doesn’t fidget as much, but here you notice he plays with his rings, he moves his legs and arms, plays with his fingers and he doesn’t look at the camera. Such a confident person yet still you can see he’s nervous and i love it. Not everyone’s perfect and this truly shows no matter how confident you are everyone can be nervous.
I wonder if this is because he's being himself, and vulnerable, rather than him portraying RuPaul; the "Supermodel" who is a larger than life persona
Its just that too much eye contact can seem agressive, even if it is directed to a camera and not to a human being

I wish that the zoom in was slower and lasted til the end, but this is a beautiful interview. I always love Ru. This has honestly taught me a lot. He is so wise. He is so honest. I love that he also exudes such confidence and just knows who he is. It's so real to see him a little nervous and admit that he's not a people person, but he can do it and also that he is an introvert. Very relatable.

Genesis Gunn feelings are not facts, they’re subjective. A person can be delusional or living in a fantasy. I get that to them, it might feel real and even manifest in psychosomatic, uncanny realistic ways.. like a phobia, or a placebo does. But that doesn’t make it any more real than like being scared in a dream. It’s only when you wake up it becomes clear, and reality returns.

It’s interesting. I’ve studied body language in criminal justice classes in college. He strikes me as super confident but he fidgets a lot with his hands and is super tense in the shoulders. He’s nervous but pushes through it. Very interesting and I think he’s such an phenomenal case study for human behavior. Because he’s this larger than life celebrity but still shows his flaws. Such a cool guy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a person. Leave it to RuPaul lol.

I picked up the 'influence' swallow when the word "mother" was used the first time in a question. There was a lot of other 'tells', that made me want to know the stories behind them. Super interesting guy that would be really cool to meet.

Funny I was reading scripted false. Constant looking to the bottom left. The figit of hands is also an indicator of blocking method for OCD people. A way of making sure you completed whatever the task is before moving to the next. I think he wants to be personal and vulnerable but doesnt want to be hurt by public opinion again.
My soul connects with Rupaul in a way I can’t explain he’s so relatable so inspiring it’s beautiful to see someone so unafraid to be authentically themselves. I connected so much with what he said about being introverted. You don’t meet people like Rupaul he’s one of a kind.
I love how he always reiterates that perserverance and being true to yourself is the key to happiness
This is the first time I’ve seen a zoom in interview, so when I only saw Ru’s face and shoulders at 2 minutes, I got scared of what I’d see 13 minutes later, like his skin cells doing mitosis or something

Actually that’s rule #1 when you shoot an interview. It’s give more options to the editor later.
Producers tell you to repeat the question, that way if they want to edit the person asking the questions out, the people watching still know what the question is, because the person answering states the question first.

Sharon Tate True, history is subject to bias and can be supressed or even denied (y'know, those people who deny the Holocaust, for example), but outside of the humanities, with science and all that, there's facts that can't be argued against or denied, like 1+1=2 and so on; History is just a subject that can be easily manipulated to sound a certain way to enforce a message or idea so yeah it can be ambiguous at times but objective, unbiased facts are valid and true.

Rupaul is such an incredible light to to this world he’s so wise and soulful. I’ve never seen anyone communicate like Rupaul so charismatic and witty he’s so impressive. If I could meet any celebrity it’s Rupaul every time.

On my first day of high school in Perth, Western Australia, I was so nervous and alone and I remember sitting at lunch and an older student who was sitting close by turned to me and asked if I was ok and kept me company during the lunch break. We would say hi to each other over the following year when we would pass each other by and he was the coolest. It was George, Ru Paul’s husband and hearing years later he went to the US and married Ru Paul put the biggest smile on my face. I still have our Year book with his photo in it.

Not really my dear. His soul seems like it’s yearning for something. Like he’s crossing over. He looks bored but spiritually or slightly tired or wandering clueless. Like he’s told himself a philosophy for life he believed but knows he may not be sure of. He’s been looking sad behind the scenes. I saw him at the camp gala and I watched him with Ts Madison on Madison’s Uber service and it’s like his life is leaving him and his eyes lost that spark he had when he was in the 80s and 90s. @@MellowJelly A lot of times they meet with the interviewer PRIOR to the actual interview. It's to build a rapport and it helps get an idea of what will be discussed....the only interviewers that DON'T do it are the gossip ones like Wendy Williams.

I ❤ this tall bald boney person! I love his mind. I love how theres no judgment but a lot of acceptance. I love that he seems to have solid boundaries and knows himself and loves himself. I love that he 's lived a poor life and earned his wealth. I love that he had the bravery to pave the way for so many others to live an honest life . Most of all I love how he has the ability to express both masculin and feminine energy without fear of what people or society will think. He's strong and soft. He's inviting yet not passive...I love that he's learned to create and maintain a healthy balance in himself. I love his movie and shows too😂
