What a nice bit of kit to have in you pack when portable, so compact. At first I thought it was going to be inflatable and self supporting, I have seen this type before as a emergency standby aerial for the marine band, but of course they are not as compact. Another market for this aerial perhaps, if I were a boat owner I would certainly keep one on board. As usual loved your video.
Ooooh that really looks fantastic. I like the small form and the ability to deploy quickly in multiple ways. Knowing S.Oxon thats some great range you where getting. Its definitely been added to my xmas list 😃 Thanks for showing it to us, 73
We’re talking about the antenna itself. I did say that another mounting solution would be to throw a line over a tree branch and hoist it up. All of that would fit in a pocket. 73!
That’s a good question. I’ve not deployed it in the rain (this weekend would be perfect to try). Fortunately I think the material would dry rather quickly.
@@johnorrells3797 I have found they work ok when wet, not perfect though. It does raise the SWR a bit when wet. HOWEVER you can spray it down with ScotchGuard (or other waterproofing sprays depending on what part of the planet you are in) and it makes the antenna weatherproof. I am looking into getting a waterproofing spray and re-labeling it "SWR Spray" LOL
Thank you! I am glad you liked it.
It’s excellent. Thanks Ben!
Brilliant Jonathan… nice video mate.
Pocketable antenna, and is that a DXCommander pole in your pocket or are you just… etc etc!
LOL

I suspect you could persuade it onto 156MHz but the best SWR would be slightly high due to impedance.
A great take anywhere 2m Antenna & thinking outside the box design.
Fantastic that's is.
M❤RE M❤RE, thankyou Jonathan🎉

Thanks Myck, it's an excellent choice for the Clumps!
Excellent stuff!
Nice one!😊
So much for fitting in a pocket.
Looks great, does it come with the pole, too?
No it doesn’t. I used the DX Commander pole I already had.
Am i missing something? Wouldn't it be just as easy to attach wire , to a pole ?
How did you fit the pole in your pocket?

Hi Jonathan??? Where can I purchase one here in the UK & what commander pole did you use please..
Hi Drew, I’m afraid you will have to order from Canada as there isn’t a UK stockist. I used the DX Commander Expedition pole.
I do ship to the UK FYI
How is affected by the black material getting wet?

Now.....I wonder if you wore it as a belt could you operate SSB horizontally 🤔 😀
Ha! Now there’s an idea!
75 dollars or 90 dollars with your callsign on it plus postage way to expensive.
I made one similar for 2m for just £12 to £13.
And that’s great Brian. Not all of use have the sewing machine required to make a good job of it! 73!
