I'm sorry but New York does not have the oldest St. Patrick Day parade that would be Boston. New York was several years behind Boson makeing them secon. Plelase do your homework before making these type of comments.
@@edmundooliver7584 Considering this stuff doesn't pop out of thin air it's very likely that there was St Patrick parades in Ireland before the one in Florida but the British banned parades in Ireland. The Irish were heavily recruited in French and Spanish armies. Also it was still in America so it's the oldest St Patrick's day in America. This tradition started in Florida was continued by Irish Catholics when st Patrick's day became popular in America in the 20th century. So Yes.
@@slifer0081 Bagpipes originate in the middle east and are equally popular in Ireland and Scotland, Ireland also has the Uillean Pipes in her traditional music.
@@berragorman637 Yes they originated thousands of years ago in the middle east but they are significantly more well-known and used in scotland. Verry hard to find someone playing the bagpipes in ireland these days
Saint Patrick's day is for alcoholics , im not Irish so i don't give a rats ass about Saint Patrick's Day. I think it's hilarious how many people think that Irish people have a strange way of talking , just take a look at Sean Mclaughlin AKA Jacksepticeye on TH-cam he's fully Irish and is from Ireland but doesn't sound anything like the people in this news segment and he even said that he thinks it's funny how people think they sound like a leprechaun.
@@slifer0081 nope , he basically lost his accent he doesn't sound Irish anymore. He used to have a very strong Irish accent when he started TH-cam but over the years his speech changed a lot.
@@josephbennett3482 His accent is definitely quite distinct to me and I would be able to identify it instantly (as I am Irish), cannot really see how it seems otherwise

Why do we celebrate this non American holiday in the USA?
@jamesbarrett918 I'm American that's why I said we and they make my kids celebrate this in school. We aren't European
St Patrick's day parades originated in the US
More people there than in Ireland
Maybe because NY state is bigger than Ireland.

If a man puts on a skirt and calls it a kilt is he still a drag queen?
A drag queen is actually something more than just fairy outfits: Their whole persona reeks of drag. These folks don't
There are far more Germans in the US than Irish, so wouldn't an Oktoberfest be a good idea too?
I agree but a lot of Germans went Midwest.
