I assume you could do it if you had some kind of basic Pokémon recursion, though idk this format so idk it that's possible (though, it usually is, so I assume it is) but either way that wouldn't make Umbreon Prime any better of a card
I was actually going to use a Meganium Prime deck for the 2012 Nationals, but shat it when I saw all those Sableye hammers decks dominating. So I ended up going for a more safe Darkrai EX deck. However almost everyone played energy acceleration decks like myself to get around Crushing Hammers deck. So it would have been an ideal choice for that meta.
Correct me if I’m wrong but only 3 Eeveelutions can be on the bench with an active Umbreon given you can only have 4 Eevee’s. Just makes the card even more of a joke. There were a few absolute statements which weren’t entirely correct.
Hate to break it to you, but you are wrong, you can have more than four eevee’s *IF* they aren’t the same exact card with the same exact stats (the Pokemon TCG adaptation for the GameBoy proves this by, for example, allowing you to run more than four paras so long as you had no more than four of ether the fossil or base set paras cards in your deck, making up to 8 paras available to run in a singular deck, and even more could have been run if more unique paras cards existed.)
@@GoodlyData86596 You are very wrong my friend, you can only have 4 of one named card it does not matter what set it’s from. Also wouldn’t advise using a video game from the 90s as an example as they’re some of the worst coded bugged things in existence.
@@BDAShadow1 and don’t tell me they didn’t know how to program in that limitation, since those devs just didn’t include what they couldn’t be bothered to program in, such as base set electrode and fossil ditto.
This video would have been way more interesting if it had taken into consideration the legacy format (hgss-bw ltr AKA all of hgss block and BW block). This format saw EXTENSIVE developments over the decade it was played on the online client. It would have definitely changed the list too. Espeon prime is one of the BEST primes in legacy since its ALWAYS played in flareon decks (same attack as vespiquen) as a way to hit for psychic weakness while copying flareons attack. Meganium prime was also a very good toolbox deck in the legacy format, sometimes paired with vileplume from undaunted; utilising a bunch of big basic pokemon and rainbow + prism energies to attack with them all and switch between attackers. Houndoom prime was also often used in ninetales decks. Ninetales did 20+50 for each status on the opponent AND had the ability to gust an opponent of ur choice when you evolved into it. And with the amoongus that poisoned and confused when you evolved into it, a long with potential burns from houndoom prime, and devolution sprays to reuse all your amoongus and even ninetales, the deck could be really effective.
How do you get a benchful of Eevee forms when you can only have 4 basic Eevee cards in a deck? Were there cards that could allow you to play Stage 1s as basics or something?
Meganium and Hydreigon never coexisted in Standard. The 2012 World Championships was only through Dark Explorers, Hydreigon came out the set after that: Dragons Exalted. There weren't good Psychic weak pokemon? That's what you rolled with? In the format with Mewtwo EX? No, its problem was the same thing as with most psychic weak pokemon: Mewtwo EX ate its lunch for a DCE. A full bench of Eeveelutions wasn't possible. The only way to get an Eeveelution into play was to evolve it from Eevee, which you could only run 4 of. Umbreon's attack maxed out at 90 without modifiers.
I mentioned this last time, but whoever did the voice over in this video is absolutely perfect. I could listen to her talk about anything for 10 hours straight.

I just personally prefer his voice over the current one (nothing against it, just not my cup of tea), and I do like his PTCG videos but the voicer over kind of turns me off from watching them which is why I miss it from this channel in particular. I follow almost all his channels so I'm aware that he still posts videos with his own voice. No hate towards the current VO, and hoping he recovers smoothly, his well being above all :)
Duel logs sounds a little different in this vid.
He has been sick lately 😕

Bad card mechanics have never sounded so sexy. 😳
If Crobat had 40 less LP and was Grass-type, it would look like a card from the Neo era.

Starting to miss the duel logs voice over ):
Hey, his throat is hurting quite a lot from so many voice overs, so he has to take a break for a while. But he may return one day in the future :)
How can you miss it? He just released a video with his voice 4hrs ago, and has had multiple with his voice still recently.
Oh, I know. He shouldn't be speaking but he does it anyways. Don't worry, I'll get him in trouble for it :p @@thek838
