there is no way i would go back to running anything but a salt pool. i've had to maintain my pool with chlorine until the temperature comes up over 65, and it is a pain... the salt system is so easy it is not even funny. i run my pump 10hrs, and salt gen 8hrs... both on intermatic timers. overlapped the pool an hour each end just to make sure the water was flowing when the cell was running
have a question related to adding chemicals to an intex 18 x 52 round saltwater system pool. Is it necessary to add calcium hardness? Currently my hardness is at 0. What will happen if I just leave that alone and don't add in any hardness?
That’s not right. All water will have mineral deposits in it. However, aside from bather comfort, a low level of calcium would not do damage to that type of pool (opposed to tile).
I have a 18x48 aboveground pool with a summer waves salt system and my free chlorine is 0 on the test strips but the machine is saying everything is good ( all green lights). But a week ago or so we noticed tge bottom of the pool became slippery and still all green lights saying salt level was good & now I have green algae growing! Can anyone help me pleas?
Shock your pool; check salt levels (2.5-3 g/l); put your salt chlorinator on 24 hr boost and look for red light; remove SC and look for deposits; check for 24V at SC plug; pH is likely high; check pump flow; backwash weekly etc.
pH and chlorine tested WEEKLY???? Try daily or even every few hours on hot days with heavy bather load. What he says to test weekly, test daily. What he says to test monthly, test weekly.
Can you guys make video how to close saltwater pool for winter?? Thx
Thanks man that was helpful!
Glad it helped!

It may leach minerals from pool or equipment. Check at your local pool store, they will let you k ow.

Where does the red wire go
I don't think we mention a red wire in the video. What are you referring to?
Plan to build a pool, but they told me, chang system chlorine to salt after build. Because of it is cheaper. ??

I'd get my water tested at a pool store for free. Post those results and we can try to figure out what is the matter. - MGS

Yes yes you are so right. If I tested this in frequently I would have a mess on my hands.
This was very helpful, thank you
