I worked a couple summers as an instructor at a "video game" camp and it was primarily a place where we taught kids math and programming. We spun it so that a lot of the curriculum was mostly like making minecraft mods and designing levels 3d assets for neverwinter, so a lot of kids really just didnt realize they were learning other skills. I still am in touch with a few of the kids and they work now as programmers and accountants so I think camps like this are really good for kids even if they don't realize it.
@Nexius_ he's simply bald 'n out. (for this comment i put a ((in my opinion)) clever spin on the classic phrase 'down 'n out', if that makes sense to anyone out there, thank you all so much for reading).
The more I've thought about it the more logical it is that kids want to be content creators. You could do anything, have any interest and as long as you make it entertaining you could theoretically make a living of off it. Makes more sense than when so many kids with no interest in acting or performing wanted to be celebs.
I agree! I think more kids wanting to be influencers than kids used to want to be movie stars is because being a content creator just looks more fun. Especially when they see influencers who have gotten big enough that they don’t need to fill any particular niche anymore.
If anything it's better because "content creator" just means someone that makes content on something they're interested in. You could have the weirdest interest and still make a living on just doing that if you make it good content.
I hate teaching kids music production Seriously. I VERY often end up doing this on music discord servers etc, and really young producers will be coming into the voice chat or wherever I am, asking for help, and I'll try to help them with whatever they're asking, and they'll be SO DAMN DISTRACTED! Like if I say "ok now click that button on the bottom left" for example, they will have opened a youtube video, played and paused their song about 15 times, forgotten what left and right and up and down means, and talked about 20 different fucking subjects before FINALLY THEY CLICK THE FUCKING BUTTON AAAAAAAA

Hopefully they get more official over time, but given the age demographic I don't think it needs to be super strict. Strict enough to make sure the kids stay safe, and whoever is working is "with it" enough to be able to guide the kids through the tech should be fine. Also given the demographics it's not like the camp needs to grant actual certifications or anything, just get the kids doing something fun that sets them up for doing bigger stuff on their own later on.
