really appreciate the effort you all put into giving is this previews and info seems like you guys enjoy it and it's not forced . also appreciate those neck deep in making the game that don't show up in videos now you stop reading this and go make a great game !!!!!
***** It would I agree, but half of these videos are showing off what are basically new planets. And I doubt they would already have anything worth showing at all, as the environment team is probably still working on previous planets
There is tons of art from pretty much every system and planet they covered so far. And its just those that are publicly available, Im sure they have more inside.
Because this is about the lore of the system, what it is, why it is, where it is, how it is; it's not about visuals. For me personally it's a plus that they do not show actual artworks or maybe even finished inengine shots of the planets, as to me that would be spoiler content... I want to find out what all of these planets actually look like for myself in the final game, not already know every bigger system inside and out years before launch.
well..if he has been a console gamer all his life, it's 45$ for the game + around 500 to 1500 $ for a decent PC ;). Still: DO IT :) (but not now... if you are to buy hardware for SC, do it closer to the release date)
They said that they are temporarily including Delamar in Stanton because it will provide an additional planet and landing zone for players to visit when 3.0 comes out, until they have multiple star systems implemented in the live version.
Top tip for this guy - keep your eyes on the camera and try expanding your arms out wide and breathing deep before beginning the video. This helps with nerves.
No, because your ships Fuel for Quantum Travel is limited. But even if it wasn't: Different Star Systems are usually several lightyears apart. And "quantum travel" gets you to 20% Lightspeed if I am not mistaken. So you would need 22 years to go for example from Sol to our closest Neighbour "Alpha Centauri" which is 4.4 Lightyears away.
What i dont get is that Delamar is in the Nyx System here, but in the Alpha 3.0 Intro at gamescon it was in the Stanton System? Has that been moved or what?
Acceptable though would like to know more ! Keep up the good work guys . Totally looking forward to playing this game for I pledged a few ships as support to you guys . Don't let us down . :-)
Thats why i moslty skip these Lore videos for now. They are still creating a lot of these storys and backgrounds for these systems that there is very little that they can share with us now, since its probably going to change one way or the other, so they avoid going into to too much detail..
Two questions: 1. Why have you written Feron with only an ‚r‘ in your ‚Feron System Guide‘ and everywhere else you find Ferron even on the official RSI Website? 2. When exactly did the Vanduul launch their attacks on Uriel which was mentioned in the Oberon System Guide? JaKS
Thanks for this vid about Nyx. I originally thought it was a pirate central like Pyro, and would have avoided this altogether. [Pirate usually is codeword for players who want to be trolls.] But understanding more about the social/ideological dynamics of Nyx and more particular Levski, I now am more interested to give the system a look. Of course there will still be player-pirate-trolls about, well you have to take that I guess, and set delayed detonators on your containers when they come collecting.
+sharrod johnson More or less. If you think about the formation of a solar system: 1. Sun forms from nebula 2. Flat debris disk forms around sun 3. Debris clumps together and forms protoplanets (Remember it's still a FLAT DISK with some protoplanets in it) 4. Planets clear space around them 5. Because nothing has been attracting the planets gravitationally or otherwise on their Z axis because everything formed on a flat disk, they are on the same plane 6. Voilà: a solar system This is why asteroid belts are flat One notable exception is planets not originally formed in the solar system such as Pluto, which was apparently captured as a pseudo asteroid from the Oort Cloud. If this happens its orbit will bisect the plane and probably be highly elliptical (like Pluto) This could also happen if two systems are very close to each other and one has a distant binary. Imagine this: - Planet from first system starts orbiting distant binary - Distant binary move close to second system - Second system captures planet Then it will probably also be elliptical. This could again also occur with a drifting planet that happens to fall into the systems orbit after its original system went nova or something But most of the time the planets are on the same plane
It's supposed to be in Nyx, but they've relocated it temporarily to Stanton for Alpha 3.0 because the rest of Nyx isn't done yet. Don't worry, CIG will eventually put the planet back where they found it!
It will be implemented, but more for RP purpose! I still hope they will give you some kind of buffs, if you drink coffee extra stamina for a short while ex :)
So please take what i'm gonna say as constructive criticism, my intention is not to bash anyone or anything. The vast majority of the times (especially in Loremaker's guide), the hosts are real people working for the game (which is awesome), but they often aren't very comfortable being filmed and talking to an audience. It's obviously the case here with this very fine gentleman, he's quite uncomfortable (sighs, confidence issues) at first, but still eventually decently makes it through the recording of the video. For me personally, I sometimes find these videos a bit painful to watch, simply because I can't help but feeling a little bit bad for them, seeing as they don't enjoy the recording, and they seem out of their comfort zone, but maybe it's just that i have too much empathy, or picture myself in their shoes, i don't know. The point is it actually distracts me quite a bit from the very content of what they're saying. One the one hand it's really nice that the very people who are actually writing all the lore appear in the videos and present their work to us, but on the other hand, sometimes hiring someone to host these videos wouldn't be a bad idea either. That being said, I'm perfectly aware that these videos are funded by the subscribers (which is really good because it doesn't take money away from the actual development of the game), and that the budget to produce them is limited. So here you have it, maybe I just wasted my time and yours with this, but I wanted to share my thoughts about it.
they tried hiring a host before, it only lasted a week because people were upset that money was going to some idiot who wasent a designer. always be aware there is two sides to each coin.
They're not forcing anyone to be on the community videos as Jared has said again and again. They're only picking people who want to. So your assumptions about their psychology might be misplaced. Some people might enjoy doing shows but still not be fully used to it. And Cherie and Adam are clearly not uncomfortable... So I don't see why you're saying "The vast majority of the times (especially in Loremaker's guide)" when that's obviously not the case.
Well I never even thought or said they were forcing people to do it. Whether they are volunteering or not is irrelevant anyway, they can volunteer and still be uncomfortable, so that is not the point. I said "The vast majority of the times" about the fact that they are real people working for CIG as opposed to "professional" video hosts, not about the fact that they are uncomfortable. Also I tried making it very clear that I was only sharing my thoughts on the matter, and that my assumptions could very well be wrong.
It seems like the ultimate piracy base system - NYX the godness of darkness and night; location wise perfectly in the middle of 4 major routes through; a very dark system in which sneak attacks are going to be very successfull and no UEE presents; in addition to all of that the asteroid belts which provide cover and possible outposts
STL Youngblood started his own Guide to the Galaxy and was doing a very fine job. And it was for free. I was kind of upset when they came in and stomped over his channel. But he's taking it gracefully. I personally feel that this is a waste of my subscriber money. please don't be too mad at me. It's just my opinion.
i'm also Confused since we saw it in The Procedural planet Demo V1 and it was part of the Stanton system, But then i think it was easier to just implement it in the Stanton system for the demo than create a whole new area of spawn and stuff like this. So i think it will be in Nyx System.
They will do this a few more times, include diff locations from other systems in the stanton sys to give us diff locations to explore that are already done. Once the jumping between systems is in the game than all these location will go back to there original systems.
Check out BoredGamers SC optimization guide. Have almost no crashes now and between 30 and 75 fps after that. He also have a Windows 10 optimization guide for gamers. Google: Boredgamer Star Citizen optimization
wait. this build has numerous performance issues. or you could play and submit bug reports when you crash, which would help them fix it. up to you. but ya the games in a state right now where there isnt really anything you can do to fix crashes. they just happen, and will happen for a while.
i believe it just means it is not available to be terraformed, a civilian COULD go there but it would be very hard to build up a civilization because no one can go outside without a space suit. basically inhabitable just means no going outside naked. there are planets in the game that have acidic enough atmospheres to melt a normal ship, but even those will be explorable if you have a tough hull.
It's an unofficial workaround for playing the PU without being connected to the server, which eliminates the bad netcode causing low frames per second regardless of your system specs.
Are we talking about 1 Bengal plus all of its fighters, or just one lone Bengal? Either way, it would take thousands. We're talking about a swarm like the one from Star Trek Beyond.
One, if you can find the ventilation shaft that leads to the Energy Core and score a direct hit on its 2m small exhaust with a Proton Torpedo, triggering a chain reaction that leads to the destrution of the Carrier. Ah shit.. dragonflies don't have torpedos. Well I guess, crashing into it might work as well.
Star Citizen is an in development first person "Space sim" MMO. Parts of it like ship dogfighting, some basic missions and FPS combat (in one unfinished star system) are already available to be playtested by people who have bought into and supported the game. There is also an in universe single player campaign called Squadron 42, which is expected to be released sometime (late) next year.
thanks for the answer but another question, is this the type of game that u can do things beside figthing like ultima online? i watched the gamescom gameplay and it look like the promised no man's sky with realistic graphics.
Yes, it won't be all about fighting. You can trade goods, explore, salvage wreckages, be a miner trying to hit it big etc. There will always be some fighting involved if something jumps you or you need to protect yourself. But if you really wanted to, you can pilot a Genesis Starliner and carry passengers from one planet to another just like a commercial pilot,
@@amrtdihal on the progress tracker it says Nyx is supposed to be done Q4 2022, same as Pyro. they already have Delamar and Levski done which is the only landing zone and they've been teasing some images of the other planets recently. but it is CIG so who knows. if they don't get server meshing all done then no Pyro, no Nyx
How dare you say the Messer era was the darkest days of humanity, it was the best! The Messers knew the importance of purging all the alien scum from humanity's galaxy. The current UEE wants to be friends with them, it's just disgusting.
Well, I'm not complaining but maybe adding a second person to cheer things up, have a little banter, and take the pressure off being on camera alone would help make it easier to watch!
Lol a system with 2 giant asteroid belts deemed unworkable. Any space-miner that's seen this on the galactic map would already have this system targeted, not to mention explorer/salvage hunters searching those belts.
This man is not very comfortable being one camera. Haddock mate, just think of it as a camera nothing more, and if you are immersed and believe in the project just talk about the system as if you are refreshing your own mind on what is Nyx. There's no need to be nervous, you wrote this stuff and you know it. If if is really this uncomfortable though you might want to stay away from the camera though, some people have a really hard time with public speaking, there's no shame in that but you should try and improve. Best way to do so is jump right in and lsiten to feedback, also count the amount of filler words you are doing. Or heck, take a few random fans and be like "Can I practice on you?" Just re-read an old piece of lore to them but as you are speaking to them in your own head count out how many times you do a filler such as; ah um uh like basically We're not here to bite your head off, we're here to hear about the broad lore you've written. You could use us to help improve your public speaking even, I am sure more than a few fans would be willing to help you broaden your comfort zone.
You don't know what you are talking about. He's not scared of the camera or anything else it's just a way he talks. I talk that way as well and I'm completely chill with the crowd.
So huge planetoid 2000 km in diameter is within the asteroid field. How huge must be the field ?! Absolutely HUGE! Apparently there will be applied the technology generating billions of asteroids ... And we will see it all the magnificence of approximately 3.1, 3.2 ... This is not a particularly magnificent! :)
think about no mans sky and how they did their planets, except these asteroids only need to be 1/16th as detailed. as long as they dont make it so an asteroid's data persist after being un-loaded its not too unreasonable.
Maybe you should sound a little more enthusiastic about the system when presenting it, the sarcastic 'exciting stuff' comments in the beginning really pop :D
im ready to buy 60$ and 100$ with the dlc but i hope its nat as boring as no man sky or it just a singel player game XD i saw a muitplayer it was funny and awesome
get a script...dont keep saying...this is where a member of the lore team takes you through the history...fun facts...flavour...character...er...tone...um...style of the system or whatever... GET A SCRIPT...you are clearly not good at improvising...say this is where a member of the lore team takes you through the history of a system on the star map...just say that...we get it, we know its all made up...we can take it...
Should cut the guy a little slack . I mean he is a geek/nerd . Besides he would not be Lead writer if his diction was not great in writing . Dave is obviously showing symptoms of anxiety behavior while hosting this video . He is just kind of nervous is all . You don't have to be a speech outgoing casual person to be a High I.Q. Genius or a perfect writer . In fact there are many writers that are considered Genius's or good writers out there and yet some of them are very Reclusive as well anti social . Examples : Thomas Pynchon , J.D. Salinger , Cormac McCarthy , William Faulkner , Hunter S. Thompson . Some of those writers lacked social skills but their writing skills put social skills to shame . Besides , the world is filled with slang and shorts . So I think Dave haddock can be excused for being a lead writer for a game . This guy has success in his life so he does not need to work on anything minor . I am sure people don't mind his Ahh's . Should pass a message like this to some of our leaders leading our country for they sure has just as many ahh.....uhh....ahhh....ahhh...'s in their Leadership/Tyrant speeches without a script written out for them . Someone that should have professional speech and yet does not . Not telling you off or anything but it's the fact that you need to realize that not everyone's brain works 100% alike . *Common Sense*

I love this project so much! Thank you Chris Roberts!
damn strait!!
Craticus, what did George _Strait_ do this time?
LOL! he sings to me while im on long hauls :D
That's legit my name
Still lovin it?
dave looks either like he had a bad day or he just didnt want to be in front of the camera. I just hope he has a good day tomorrow
Dave is corporate Bukowski. That's why the writing rules.
We miss you, Delamar!
yes we do
Love the loremaker series. Keep up the good work!
Fun drinking game: Take a shot for every "basically"
Or "uh"
soooo many shots
RIP liver
Sorry that not everyone is a perfect public speaker... Please don't dissuade the developers from talking about the game...
It's just banter m80
Dave Haddock will survive it
really appreciate the effort you all put into giving is this previews and info seems like you guys enjoy it and it's not forced . also appreciate those neck deep in making the game that don't show up in videos now you stop reading this and go make a great game !!!!!
Totally making this my future home system.
This is a great series, thank you!
Great job dude
Nice to hear about an alternate govermant in the lore of SC.
Why you never show arts from planets? Staring at just solar map is boring.
Because maybe most of them are not fully implemented
***** It would I agree, but half of these videos are showing off what are basically new planets. And I doubt they would already have anything worth showing at all, as the environment team is probably still working on previous planets
Good idea, I agree. I'm still grateful for what we got though.
There is tons of art from pretty much every system and planet they covered so far. And its just those that are publicly available, Im sure they have more inside.

I want to find out what all of these planets actually look like for myself in the final game, not already know every bigger system inside and out years before launch.
This was a good one wish he would have covered what the statue on the station was about a bit.
Enjoyed the "inside baseball" portion of this. Keep it up.
That outer asteroid belt is HUGE!
I've been a console gamer all of my gaming life, and I'm blown away by Star Citizen! I want in!
well..if he has been a console gamer all his life, it's 45$ for the game + around 500 to 1500 $ for a decent PC ;).
Still: DO IT :)
(but not now... if you are to buy hardware for SC, do it closer to the release date)
as usual..awesome
it is
Fun Fact : Nyx also goes by "Stevie"
LEAVE!!! lol
(¬‿¬)
Great video. Very informative. Another place i would love to explore.
We will be able to explore Delamar atleast for the 3.0 release :D
Very nice vid! Try to maximize the detail as much as you can, devs. Variety is the spice of life, after all. :)
sounds like the place for me!
#NyxOutForHarambe

+Kongo That's what harambe said when they pulled out the gun
How come in the gamescone presentation, it showed Delemar in the Stanton system?
They said that they are temporarily including Delamar in Stanton because it will provide an additional planet and landing zone for players to visit when 3.0 comes out, until they have multiple star systems implemented in the live version.
i open the starmap with you guys.,,relax and listen
Top tip for this guy - keep your eyes on the camera and try expanding your arms out wide and breathing deep before beginning the video. This helps with nerves.
NICE! I love Star Citizen~!
Thanx for the heads up!!
Wow you have some great graphics programmers, I made a solar system for a university project last year, but nowhere near this quality
so how far out will you be able to go, as in passed the outer belts? could you fly all the way to another system with out hyper space?
No, because your ships Fuel for Quantum Travel is limited. But even if it wasn't:
Different Star Systems are usually several lightyears apart.

I presume it's in there because it was done first. Why would they do Levski first? My guess is it shows up in SQ42.

1. Why have you written Feron with only an ‚r‘ in your ‚Feron System

2. When exactly did the Vanduul launch their attacks on Uriel which was mentioned in the Oberon System Guide?

Oh Nyx, how exciting!
So close yet so far
Question: Do all the planets revolve on the same, for lack of better words plane?
they might but I doubt it, the star map is really inaccurate so don't trust any of the current distancing/proportions of planets.
+sharrod johnson More or less. If you think about the formation of a solar system:

I still go with the "death star" theory
All right, thank you for the update!
And then we found out our Planets are living Monsters.....FUCKING FLESH EATING MONSTERS !!!!

"science, history, flavor, whatever you wanna call it" Uhhh I dont know......LORE.
Great video! Just a tip, take it easy with the "Uhs" and "Umms", kind of driving me against the wall lol. Other than that, great stuff man
where is this now?
I know this isn't the division that do character stuff but is hunger/thirst/drowsiness going to be added any time soon?
It will be implemented, but more for RP purpose!
I still hope they will give you some kind of buffs, if you drink coffee extra stamina for a short while ex :)

but.. wasnt Levski part of Crusader? im really confused right now
i'm also Confused since we saw it in The Procedural planet Demo V1 and it was part of the Stanton system,
But then i think it was easier to just implement it in the Stanton system for the demo than create a whole new area of spawn and stuff like this. So i think it will be in Nyx System.
some guy told me that its included in Stanton system for now.. its a rogue planet :P
They will do this a few more times, include diff locations from other systems in the stanton sys to give us diff locations to explore that are already done. Once the jumping between systems is in the game than all these location will go back to there original systems.
this is probably asked a million times already - but how many systems are projected to be in SC?
I love this game and play it a lot.. but now i have a lot of chrasches when i play.. tried everything but nothing helps... any ideas guys?
This patch probably just doesn't agree with your hardware, next patch might fix it

lord maker guid to the lord makersy? is the a galaxydy of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy? please tell me
This game will be amazing!!! The only thing that can match up to it is Elite Dangerous!
What do they mean when they say a planet is inabitable? Inabitable for civilians? Will we able to land on it or will be just for show?
i believe it just means it is not available to be terraformed, a civilian COULD go there but it would be very hard to build up a civilization because no one can go outside without a space suit. basically inhabitable just means no going outside naked. there are planets in the game that have acidic enough atmospheres to melt a normal ship, but even those will be explorable if you have a tough hull.
I hope you're right, the amount of detail that has been put into this game is amazing.
Pretty big jump point nexus, I'll keep that in mind
Unfortunately the offline mode doesn´t work anymore!?Red "replace me" balloons everywhere....
Ok,it´s not really an official mode....;-)
But it worked with great fps
It's an unofficial workaround for playing the PU without being connected to the server, which eliminates the bad netcode causing low frames per second regardless of your system specs.
Couldn´t say it better..^^
8 years later there is the first rumor that it is close for implementation...
The real question is: How many Dragonflies does it take to kill a Bengal ?.
technically it should be 1 if the Bengal just sits there and takes it for like 16 years.
Are we talking about 1 Bengal plus all of its fighters, or just one lone Bengal?
Either way, it would take thousands. We're talking about a swarm like the one from Star Trek Beyond.

Ah shit.. dragonflies don't have torpedos. Well I guess, crashing into it might work as well.
Im going to join forces with the government in Delamar in the Nyx system!
I saw this yesterday. looks like it got leaked before it was schedule to be presented
sounds like a home.
can somebody explain me this game. is this a mmo game ??

THANKS JARED Kappa
There should be a console specifically made for this game to play it on
which would end up being priced as a computer
might as well get a PC at that point
i think its coming with pyro Next Year
I think end 2023 with Odin
@@amrtdihal on the progress tracker it says Nyx is supposed to be done Q4 2022, same as Pyro.
they already have Delamar and Levski done which is the only landing zone and they've been teasing some images of the other planets recently.
but it is CIG so who knows. if they don't get server meshing all done then no Pyro, no Nyx
@@cooki3th1ef true but server mashing ends as well at Q2…
They need that for the other systems etc
me reading these comments: you sweet summer child
@@EmilSosnin well. end of year is pyro-patch 😅 after that comes the nyx-system.
BASICALLY
Nyx good times!
I rather enjoy your videos Dave.
Bulgaria represeeent!
How dare you say the Messer era was the darkest days of humanity, it was the best! The Messers knew the importance of purging all the alien scum from humanity's galaxy. The current UEE wants to be friends with them, it's just disgusting.
Why does he sound like he's going into the back room to slit his wrists after this video? Cheer up man!!! lol
Well, I'm not complaining but maybe adding a second person to cheer things up, have a little banter, and take the pressure off being on camera alone would help make it easier to watch!
have you seen a TH-cam channel called, Da Gaimes? that guy is a wonderful narrator. really feels what he's saying.
Because Chris Roberts is standing behind the camera staring at him without blinking the whole time. He's also stroking a white cat.
+Col Wolf77 lol
anyone else thought they left the mouse floating in the middle of the screen?
Damn those hippies :P
Things got too real near the end
Should I convert this into a "podcast" or what?
Who else here after the recent leak!?
Nobody 🤪
Lol I know I’m late to this party but buddy looks like dangles from Reno 911
bring back 10 for the chairman
so is this game gonna be on the pc and ps4 or what XD also when im dying to know
If the tax is "right" , I´d might move to Levski ---- "basically"
First comment? :D
Lol a system with 2 giant asteroid belts deemed unworkable. Any space-miner that's seen this on the galactic map would already have this system targeted, not to mention explorer/salvage hunters searching those belts.
They were prosperous once, but they've been mined out for exactly the reason you pointed out.
So what is this independent government called? What are their current goals?
This man is not very comfortable being one camera. Haddock mate, just think of it as a camera nothing more, and if you are immersed and believe in the project just talk about the system as if you are refreshing your own mind on what is Nyx. There's no need to be nervous, you wrote this stuff and you know it.
If if is really this uncomfortable though you might want to stay away from the camera though, some people have a really hard time with public speaking, there's no shame in that but you should try and improve. Best way to do so is jump right in and lsiten to feedback, also count the amount of filler words you are doing. Or heck, take a few random fans and be like "Can I practice on you?" Just re-read an old piece of lore to them but as you are speaking to them in your own head count out how many times you do a filler such as;
ah
um
uh
like
basically
We're not here to bite your head off, we're here to hear about the broad lore you've written. You could use us to help improve your public speaking even, I am sure more than a few fans would be willing to help you broaden your comfort zone.
Dude, have you ever heard Chris Roberts speak? If anyone at CIG needs elecution lessons its him. I kind of like the amateurish charm of it all though.
think about no mans sky and how they did their planets, except these asteroids only need to be 1/16th as detailed. as long as they dont make it so an asteroid's data persist after being un-loaded its not too unreasonable.
i hope the planets get a moon or 2
Maybe you should sound a little more enthusiastic about the system when presenting it, the sarcastic 'exciting stuff' comments in the beginning really pop :D
All the lore-makers look like pirates from Privateer 2 wtf
finish the game ALREADY
im ready to buy 60$ and 100$ with the dlc but i hope its nat as boring as no man sky or it just a singel player game XD i saw a muitplayer it was funny and awesome
Nyx and Pyro sound boring.. Just uninhabited rocks.. When we get alien worlds with alien life?
Pyro was retconned, as im sure youve heard. To be a bit more interesting and more full of life. Go to Pyro, get crabs
💀
get a script...dont keep saying...this is where a member of the lore team takes you through the history...fun facts...flavour...character...er...tone...um...style of the system or whatever... GET A SCRIPT...you are clearly not good at improvising...say this is where a member of the lore team takes you through the history of a system on the star map...just say that...we get it, we know its all made up...we can take it...
uh...ummmm....uhhh....uhhhhh....ummmm.uhhhhhhh. No offense but I can't listen to him
ahhh....ahhhh...aahhhh,
Sr. YOU NEED to work on your diction
Seems like a boring world.
Space communists!
make intro shorter
Thanks for this vid about Nyx. I originally thought it was a pirate central like Pyro, and would have avoided this altogether. [Pirate usually is codeword for players who want to be trolls.] But understanding more about the social/ideological dynamics of Nyx and more particular Levski, I now am more interested to give the system a look. Of course there will still be player-pirate-trolls about, well you have to take that I guess, and set delayed detonators on your containers when they come collecting.
