I’ve been wanting to go to the museum since you first mentioned it! I’m recovering from a brain injury and keep having to go to the nose, throat and ear hospital for treatments. The museum is only five minutes drive from the hospital so I’m hoping I’ll feel with it enough after my next appointment to go check it out with my mum. Thanks for the renewed inspiration!
Nottingham Playhouse is doing a production called 'Coram Boy' this August, which is an "epic tale of heartbreak and redemption" about two of Thomas Coram's foundling children. Looks really interesting, particularly now I know more about the Foundling Hospital - thanks Carrie!

This is fascinating, firstly I’ve also never heard of the foundling museum so thats on the agenda very soon. Also, I’ve worked in theatre in education for 9 years now and I adore the difference it makes to every child in such different ways. This charity is my cup of tea so thank you for raising awareness! There are too many vulnerable children in this country, let alone the rest of the world

As a previous girl guide for a good 4/5 years (and still probably would be heavily involved if school hadn't taken over my life) it's great to see money being donated to help such a great cause. Fingers crossed most of that money will be going to providing funding for the activities and events that the charity puts on (e.g. fabfest, big gig) as I believe most of the money at individual units comes from 'subs' given by the girls themselves to pay for things like insurance and other expenses - for example, I had to pay £10 a month towards my being at guides which was kind of a pain for my parents but we managed, I'd like to see the money donated go towards decreasing this to allow more young girls to become involved - especially those who need a little getaway from the rest of the world every week.
I dont really have anything to say for this video, but I do know that for my birthday, I want my friends and family to donate to Save the Children. They are a great charity that helps families and communities all around the world! You can donate a well, animals, and fruit trees to communities so they have a resource for food and income.
The Foundling Hospital was basically like a Workhouse, just a better off one...when you turned 14 you could become a sailor for a boy or a maid for a girl. They were treated terribly like workhouse children tho. Look into it more if you can, it’s very interesting :-) Jaqueline Wilson also wrote a series of books called Hetty Feather based on a foundling place
Took my class of Year 2 kids there a few years ago on a school trip...deary me, it was a good trip but they got them to dress up as poor mothers and gave them dolls and asked them to pretend to approach the foundling museum and petition as to why their baby should be taken in and looked after (they couldn't take all babies) The children were incredible thinking of their reasons why their 'babies' should be looked after. Me and my partner teacher were in floods of tears!
I've found so many good musicians on Twitch. Such a huge music scene on there. Matty Twigg who goes by CallsignScarecrow on Twitch is a lovely musician from Hampshire. He's kind of the hub of a lot of the musicians on Twitch. Stick around his stream long enough and you'll get to meet many of the talented musicians.

Happens to me with my friends and it happens to me with some youtubers that I’ve watched for years and I sometimes pick up on sounds Carrie makes that I find so familiar now hahaha What a weirdo.

Coram sounds amazing, but please reconsider supporting WWF. Greenpeace is a far more proactive charity. WWF put the majorly of their profits into publicity, they don't need the help 😅 and they aren't really doing what needs to be done to actually protect and sustain wildlife populations. Just please consider researching them a bit more.
