Once a long time ago, I tried to drive in the same time in Assetto Corsa. I was very surprised by the difference with the official record. After carefully studying the Nissan video, I came to the conclusion that the car was modified in some way and at least it affects the tires. All Nürburgring fans know how difficult many turns are on ordinary street tires and how tricky it's to passed it on heavy understeering car (which Nissan is). You can clearly see it in Nissan test driver POV, when half of the track he just throws the car into turns without thinking about the speed at the apex. So in this situation, Porsche is more than justified in it's accusing. P.S. "Nürburgring is just made wrong in Grand Turismo btw. With almost flat surface and with wrong degrees and wideness in many corners. If you don't like Assetto compare it with iRacing."
I wonder if they used "road legal" but effectively cut slick tyres, or even may have modified the tyres themselves on a machine. You can get compound softening sprays for example, and you can also remove tread from the tyre to make it overheat less.
@@JimmyTurboMods This is a good point. Because the behavior of the car on those tires does not really look like using racing slicks nor like a road tires.
Porsche said the the original '2009' GTR record was illegitimate, not the '2014' nismo GTR record. Nissan themselves admitted that the 2014 NISMO was illegitimate due to it being heavily modified. When they set the ACR lap record there was only like a 3 second margin between three different drivers. @specmdriven has detailed documentary about nismo fiasco.
Nissan developed the N Attack Package which is an optional kit for the NISMO GT-R that is installed at the NISMO Omori Factory. This was disclosed when the record was set and the package was offered and it has been available on the 2014-2017 NISMO GT-R. In my opinion, this isn’t all that different from Porsche installing Weissach packages at their Porsche Motorsport facility in Weissach. Both satellite facilities perform similar work. Honda’s special Civic Type R S Grade record is on the wiki page but was set on non-factory optioned aftermarket tires. Yes you can exploit sims to drive beyond what would be realistic in the real world but that isn’t really what simulators are for. GTR is the worst car ever made. First: Originally, it was a $60k car with 600hp and AWD when most $60k sports cars had 400-450hp and only RWD, while simultaneously, most 600hp AWD sports cars (911s) cost well over $100k. At that point people say it’s such a good car because it beats out all of its competitors: other $60k cars even tho they were all underpowered with RWD, so it’s not a fair comparison. But when you put the $60k 600hp AWD GTR against other 600hp AWD cars (911 turbo s), GTR loses every single time. Then people say “oh it’s so much cheaper.” My number 1 problem with this: you should always compete with cars of the same category, similar drivetrain and power. That’s why you can’t bring a Ferrari to a Golf race in racing games. So when you compare GTR to M3, it’s essentially a bully when the M3 has 400-440hp and RWD. But at least it’s still cheaper than 911s. Second: Nowadays, GTRs are so much more expensive than they used to be. They are no longer the same cost as M3/M4/C63/RS5. It is at least 1.5x the cost of a M3/M4/C63/RS5. Sometimes it’s even more expensive than the 911s!!! It was a cheap fast car. Now it’s just like any other sports car, just as expensive if not more, but without the luxury name associated with it like Porsche. To summarize: GTR used to be a big bully who likes to race underpowered RWD cars and claim its superiority, and when it loses to its actual rival, you cry cause they are more expensive. 10 years later, you still loses to 911 and yet you are just as expensive as 911. You just can’t get around it. The 911 is just absolutely the best car ever build, it’s perfection. And GTR is trash.
This is what we call a spec sheet nerd. L take, the gtr might not be the fastest car ever made but at the time it had the most you could really ask for without shelling out hundreds of thousands. If you wanted a super fast car, but didn't own an oil field, it was really your best option. Nowadays Audi probably has it beat there though.
such a weird take but, okay. we love the R35 because its a great platform to Modify on, for Drag? Roll racing? Tōge? Track car? and its still the same platform over the years g
You’re looking at how the car is as a civilian who doesn’t race the car, cost doesn’t matter when you’re a racing team and the car you have has over 100 more hp than your competitors and a better steering system, I will admit they are not affordable but if they weren’t good cars, what about the 90’s Japan Touring championship? It was the most dominant car and even Toyota 36 was a close battle between points it’s Legacy is determined, and an AMG fanboy is not changing that.
It drives me nuts when people in GT7 don’t fully upgrade their cars as it’s bloody stupid as the goal is to be the fastest PERIOD. If you don’t upgrade and you’re slower then it’s your own stupid fault
@@jamesowendesign you're right, as a veteran gt player, there are some cars I need to put a safety margin on Powerlimit, as it can cause fuel to burn earlier, be way too fast and lose traction, have brakes that struggle for power, the BoP limit, and yes. be too fast in rainy races and slip out.

N Attack package wasn't even announced until the following year after the record attempt, in July of 2014. You can look it up on the NISMO site yourself. That's longer after the industry had called out or just dismissed Nissan's record.
Even when Nissan originally announced the record, they only said it was the worlds fastest "Volume Production car record" with "track options" but didn't even elaborate that it had full ECU tune and was 90lbs lighter.
Porsche was fully transparent about the Weissach package even from the prototype testing phase. They also had their record independently verified by a 3rd party who knew the full details of the package. Customers were able to order the package even before the 918 was released.
Good thing it’s not the real dashboard simulator, because that would be false advertising
Can you do Zonda R in Nurburgring next?
Camaro ZL1 1LE next please .....
nice, keep them vids coming
Stunning!!!
You’re fkn awesome at gran turismo
Great video
Do the 2010 Viper ACR on the same track. 7.12
Did porsche ever call put the vettes?or the vipers?
Do you make your own voice overs or use AI?
People calling Gran Turismo Simcade because the car takes turns at speed 😂😂😂
Just 1 problem, you can drive much faster in a sim because there is no threat of death if you crash, so crashing isnt scary so you can push harder. And hasnt it already been proved they cheated?
Yes you can exploit sims to drive beyond what would be realistic in the real world but that isn’t really what simulators are for. Driving the car how you would in reality is far more useful for real world comparisons. When Nissan set the Nismo lap they disclosed the upgrade package scope and then offered it to customers. It was then installed at their NISMO Omori Factory.
Nah, wrong. Those guys were on the edge IRL. I mean, IoMTT exists lol
Has anyone tried in Forza Motorsport ? It is probably a skill issue but I can only achieve 07:30 on the ring and I don’t really see how you can be 22 seconds faster in the game
Forza is not a simulator
@@RiasGremoryS54neither is Gran Turismo right ?
@@lr5342 Grand Turismo is on another league lol.
@@RiasGremoryS54 more realistic ? Never tried Gran Turismo but I’m debating getting a PlayStation if it’s worth

Use beam or assetto corsa instead since they're way more life like
Did they have the same lap time as real life like ?
hell nah not for racing bro
Very good video 👍
Thank you
They need to bring this game to pc lol
The irl GTR Nismo's lap was basically invalidated, Nissan themselves said that they used a modified version of the N-Attack. It wasnt a regular Nismo
You didn't see the video didn't you ? Still original car, cope.
@RiasGremoryS54 it wasn't. Nissan literally claimed it was a regular Nismo, then later said "well actually, it's an N attack". There's multiple articles covering this and it's well documented.
@@ForeverDriven2121 It was, it was official pack offered on the car. Everyone know that, you just can't accept it. Porsche is known to cheat, they are hypocrite like they did with Mercedes.
it's no different from Porsche weissach packages
@@DrProfessorBello porsche discloses that the car running is a Weissach. That's the difference.
Nissan outright lied about it until busted
なんの意味もない比較だな
そも論、GTの方はMY17だしリアルの方はNパケ入ったMY15だから足回りのセットからタイヤから何まで完全に別の車といっても良い
Still a slow lap time 😂
and remember when Project Cars was being hyped to be the sim to take over from GT!!! the graphics etc and it died!! PC3 was worse than an arcade game! PC sims dont seem to have the staying power! PC sims boast being hard and detailed forgetting that you need to attract a wide audience! where GT builds and builds upon the foundation of driving is for everyone from kids to 90 yr olds!.... yes its sometimes painfully slow wanting the updates and upgrades! But thats probably due to PD having to answer to Sony and the fixed console space which it is comfortable with! But when GT gets it right it gets it right!! GTSport went seriously into the Esport scene and still commands that side now!
The GTR was created after Nissan bought a 959 to study its awd system.
So. That was just a kid rebelling against dad.
It’s OK Porsche, remember, Nissan basically copied you, they should thank you for the 959 🤷🏻♂️
They didn't. R32 and others were destroying Porsches with Nissan own AWD system wich is way more advanced.
@@RiasGremoryS54 nope, look it up, Nissan bought a 959 to learn their AWD workings, here’s a google search comment for starters:
The 1989 Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32), the resulting car containing an all-wheel-drive system "inspired" by the Porsche 959. Nissan's decision to buy a 959 was not coincidental. Simply put, it was the best car that any manufacturer offered in its day.

And you are not even a professional racer, impressive 😮😅
the driver movements ... I never watch in this sort of view ... seriously insane.
not realistic! the rearview should be his helmet in that view!!! lol
GTR is the worst car ever made.
First:
Originally, it was a $60k car with 600hp and AWD when most $60k sports cars had 400-450hp and only RWD, while simultaneously, most 600hp AWD sports cars (911s) cost well over $100k.
Then people say “oh it’s so much cheaper.”
My number 1 problem with this: you should always compete with cars of the same category, similar drivetrain and power. That’s why you can’t bring a Ferrari to a Golf race in racing games. So when you compare GTR to M3, it’s essentially a bully when the M3 has 400-440hp and RWD.
But at least it’s still cheaper than 911s.
Second:
Nowadays, GTRs are so much more expensive than they used to be.
Cope, Nissan destroyed Porsche so many times on championship too..
911 is a boring same looking VW beetle, the GT-R look way better.
It drives me nuts when people in GT7 don’t fully upgrade their cars as it’s bloody stupid as the goal is to be the fastest PERIOD. If you don’t upgrade and you’re slower then it’s your own stupid fault
Because there are PP limits for certain races, fully upgrading doesn’t allow you to complete some events.
@@jamesowendesign sorry 😂
@@EliteAvexation And some upgrades are irreversible causing you to buy another car in order to start from scratch!
