Hey walid ! I’m in the beginning process of opening up a photography/videography/podcast studio here in San Diego , what legal steps do I need to do before signing a lease ? Or legal steps after signing a lease ?
Hi Louie, thanks for watching the videos. I love the idea of adding podcast to it also! So legally I would always say "speak to a lawyer" for that advice. First of all, there is a video I have which talks about negotiating and that will truly help you. It's in this same playlist which will help you so much, and here is the direct link th-cam.com/video/Y6TR4pLeB2I/w-d-xo.html for the video. If it was my studio, I'd make sure my contracts are solid, I am ADA compliant, I have permits to shoot clearly stated, I'd register the domain and all of the associated social usernames, figure out an accounting system BEFORE you even start, get the bank accounts, look into licensing, rental agreements for you and landlord and then for you and the clients, make sure you are fire compliant (landlord should help here), insurance, etc... it's a lot. Before anything sit through my entire photography studio playlist. THen if you want, you can book a Zoom session with me and ask very specific questions. For anything approving legal contracts, please speak with a lawyer because it'll save you thousands down the line.
If this video helped you, please consider subscribing. If you have questions, please comment below and I'll respond :)
Your amazing! I feel so motivated!
You are! And you will do amazing, have you considered opening a studio or you have a studio?
Love this!! Can you do a video on the financials of the lease? Like negotiating the length, price and free months for renovation.. that kind of thing
I'm recording this video today! Thank you for the idea.
Love the video. Can you give us an example of a location company?
Keep up the great content!
Thank you Adley. An example of a location company would be www.planitlocations.com
