Thanks for your informative video. We are installing new flooring under the Bruno SRO 3000 and this video was very helpful. Now we just need to figure out where the gear strip that dropped out of the chair goes! 😂
Very informative. Constructive criticism: Identifying the size of the tools needed (used) to remove the parts would help people like me, whose knowledge of hand tools is limited to a flat and Phillips screwdriver. There is mention of a "deep socket," but as helpful as it is to know that, it would be even more helpful to know what size socket to use, for instance. I still gave it a thumbs up because it is very helpful.
Super rad video I did my mom’s house had to remove it for new carpet. Your video is helpful but damn that chair is heavy took all I had to get it off then when I tried to move it, piece of plastic broke on the bottom even in the upright position Putting it back on. Is it going to be hard? I think I’ll bring my floor jack up from the garage to jack it up high enough to reset it. Damn my back hurts. Rad video😅😅
Hello, The dismantling video was great. I am dismantling from a property to bring it back to my property to install. Current owner have 13stairs and mine is 11stairs. What I need to modify? Please advise. Thanks
I am currently going through the "school of hard knocks" with moving one of these from one house to another. IMO, it's much easier to take it off the rail and lift it without the chair still attached. The chair makes it extremely awkward, out of balance and hard to get a grip on it. By itself it weighs 50 pounds. One screw takes the plastic cover off the front to expose the 2 large bolts holding the chair on and the electrical wire connection. Unplug the wire, take the bolts out and remove the chair. The factory has another looped wire connection on the wire to plug back into what was unplugged to bypass all the safety cut offs the chair has so you can use the remote to move it without the chair on it. Take out the last row of teeth in the gear track. This will make it stop before it fails off the end of the rail. You can then easily grab the motor and gear assembly to lift it off the rail with no chair on it. Also, once I do know why but the second time I don't know why, it completely lost all power and would do nothing, twice because a small 5 amp fuse blew on the circuit board. If you lose all power, look there.
I learned the hard way why the video says to leave the bottom end cap on and remove the lift from the top. My stairlift was broken and s stuck at the bottom. While it could be manually moved by turning the motor, it would’ve taken forever to get it to the top of the stairs. I decided to try removing it from the bottom. It wasn’t an issue of space. There was enough room to remove the stairlift from the rail that way. What the video doesn’t explain is that the gear rack inside the rail comes in 6-inch segments. The only thing holding them in is the endcap. If you remove the bottom end cap, the moment you remove the chair lift all those little 6 inch steel pieces come tumbling out. Made quite a racket! It also removed a lot of weight from the rails. If you have a multi-segment rail, you will end up with no choice but to remove all those little steel pieces. So, feel free to remove the lift from the bottom, but I recommend putting some sturdy cardboard underneath so that as those pieces fall out they don’t damage your floor.
@ in my case, the chairlift was broken. When I removed the end cap, I was able to slide the lift off of the rail with a bit of jiggling, still engaged on the last of the gear segments. Once the chair slides off the rail, that’s when all the rest of the gear segments will fall out. Short answer, take the end, cap off, and slide the chairlift off the bottom.
Thanks for the video I have reinstalled my used Bruno on the opposite side of the steps that it was installed, but the Bruno will go down, with remote but will not go up. seat switch will not work at all? Any suggestions for me appreciate it. Thank you.
Question, can the chair and motor portion be taken off at the bottom, or remove the bottom cap and take it off there ? Don't want to have to carry that heavy suckered down a flight of steps.
I don't think you could pull it off of the bottom because The chair base is larger than the gap between the rail and the floor so I just don't think it would come off but it might get stuck there so I wouldn't even try. Yes it's heavy but it wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. I moved it without great difficulty
Thanks so much for this video. I just bought a used SRE 3000 series and installed it myself. The chair is only 6 months old. After the installation is completed, there is no power. The chair wouldn't do anything, no beeping as well. Do you know what the problem might be? Thank you for your advice!
I have removed a Bruno SRE 3050 it has a 15 ft track, I see the track is in 2 pieces, but there is a continuous piece of copper. How can I separate this to move it in my car?
Hi. Thanks for the Video. I bought one for my mom and disassembled it from seller. The 5 amp breaker on board was bad and I replaced it. Once I mount it on track, I get nothing. The batteries are good and I am getting about 26volts. I have tried everything and can't seem to get this working. Any help from anyone? I turn the breaker on and off but I get no beeps nothing. The 25 am fuse is also good.
Slightly off topic re a Bruno 2010. Made about 2018. I bought it used in good operating condition. The installation instructions show a steel "cross pin" to be installed at the bottom of the rail. The cross pin appears to be for the purpose of taking some weight off the bottom plate which bears all of weight of the gears and chair. The cross pin is to be installed through the rail using a template in a way that prevents the geat set from moving downward. The unit I have does not have such a pin. Anyone with comments as to the importance of the "cross pin"?
Replying to myself(: I definitely learned that they come from the factory as left or right mount. Our lift was right mounted so the conversion to left mount was a bit complicated. I figured out how to rotate the seat mount about 90 degrees. The trickier part was changing the seat rotation which involved removing the seat from the base (mounted very stoutly with roller bearings), removing the plate covering the seat bottom switches and moving the detents. Unfortunatley when I turned it on I got codes L1, L2, & L3 which I have been trying to diagnose. In the meantime I did a workaround - I "hot wired" the battery directly to the motor with a reversable 30 amp switch which of course eliminates all the safety switches. But we only use it twice a day with supervision. I may call the original installer for a service call.
Helpful video except you didn't show how to detach the chair from the electric source. I pulled the black one off but for the life of me, I cannot get the red one off. Is their a trick??
The proper way is to remove that end plate. No need to remove that plastic stop in the back. Run the chair down far enough to slide a couple of the gear segments out. Then run the chair up until it runs off the track. At this point, turn off the power. Remove the seat from the motor assembly. You can do that by removing the snap ring on the bottom of the seat post or by removing the two bolts that bolt the seat post to the footrest. Remove the Front cover first and unplug the wire going to the seat. Once the seat is off, simply slide the motor assembly off the rail. Much easier than wrestling the entire motor and seat assembly off the rail and much less chance of damaging the charging fingers and etc under the unit.

You need to find the wobbling nut to hold it.😄
I am removing it for same reason! Was it easy to re-install?

Thank you for making this video. It was a huge help
Thanks for the video. I have to remove two from my mom's place.
Glad it helped
Please sell 1 if it is in good condition.
@@URTechDotCa. Reinstalling chair on rail just reverse of your video..putting new chair on existing track. Thanks
Hello,

Wondering video!! Can the rail/track be broken down further? I need to transport a14 step lift and I think I need to break it down into 2 pieces.

How did you get the chairlift off of the bottom of the rail? Thank you

Removing a Stannah. Hopefully very similar. Thank you!

Great video. How you operate the chair manually? My chair is stuck in the fold rail. I am trying to bring it upstairs manually.
While you did uninstall the unit, you made it harder than it should have been.
Excellent job,
Hi my question is can you break the rail down into two parts I see where it is like in two parts but I didn't see you reply to that above question
Hello do you know if you can swap a stairlifft from left side of stairs to right hand side please
Hello wondering if you provide support services for this chair lift?

Looking at a used too. Does it have to be left or right? Wondered if you remember. I was suprised to find one with the length of track I need

take the foot rest off take the seat off a whole lot easier omg a hack
Agreed. thanks!
That is certainly not the correct way to remove this lift.
Why?
You are right. Not even close to the proper way.
The proper way is to remove that end plate. No need to remove that plastic stop in the back. Run the chair down far enough to slide a couple of the gear segments out.
