This is one of the greatest renditions of this song I've ever heard. Great work Rachel you're amazing. Honestly given how amazing she is here it's only natural that she landed roles like Maria and Lucy Gray
There are different versions! The broadway version has its own lyrics to the beginning, but hers is the most common beginning. The movie left it out entirely. Hope this helps!
I think it’s because not only was she really young here, but also she’s a theater performer! Meaning that the expressions need to be more exaggerated, so people in the audience can see better :D
Considering that she was 16, I’d hope she sounded youthful. Not sure what the latter half of your sentence implies, but musical theatre vocal training is literally designed to make you sound a specific way. Maybe you consider musical theatre singing “bland,” but she’s doing all the right things she is supposed to.
I saw her in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and thought she would make a great Eponine or Anastasia.
so powerful.
that casual hair flip as she's belting in last minute
Simply wonderful singing by Rachel Zegler. We love her very even, full-length-of-the-note vibrato singing on the longer sustained notes.
She's an angel.

Chills all over my body! Damn she really know how to act and how to put emotions in her song!
incredibly stunning cover !
This girl has a god-given talent. Holy moly. Best part is she’s only one year younger than I am now
Oh, what an amazing - no, stunning! - performance!!! Rachel would make a very good Eponine!!!! Bravo!!!
Absolutely fabulous - Wow!
Thank you for doing these! I love the commitment you bring to your singing.
This isn’t her channel. She deleted them from her channel, she sang these years ago when she was 15-17
Beautiful voice, soul, and eyes.
This is amazing. She sounds amazing!
This was amazing, you have a very good voice!
How is this not viral?
this is the reason why i am leaning to sing
Amazing!!!!
MEU DEUS, NO INICIO ACHEI QUE FOSSE A LEA MICHELE LOOOL
アナスタシア演じて欲しいです!
Ok I had my doubts but now I think she will be a phenominal Lucy Grey
love
Please remember me when you are on Broadway
Thank you.
She needs to sing “Mr. Snow” from Carousel
Is she already on Broadway?
Yes, she’s in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway, but she mostly does film.
You're so beautiful my sweetheart princess🌹😍🥰💎❤️🌹👑🕊️🙏😇🥰
😳😳😳😳 her voice
she looks like Madylin Bailey & Julia Volkova
The beginning is different from the version I have. Did she write that part or is there another version?

@@78bjk Thank you! Is the long version on iTunes?
It should be available on the original Les Miserables album from 1985!
@@dakotadavis3000 Thanks!
Is this real??????
Excuse me... Are you the real Rachel Zegler??
This channel is not hers. Rachel's channel is @RachelZeglerLovesHugs.
I mean she can sing and everything but this is over acting. She over does it. She just needs to pull back a little bit.
Les Mis is a dramatic musical, it relies on the acting and singing at equal levels
you know she was like 16 here right?
girl, if you think the tiktok forced-hate of rachel zegler will give you the same clout here on youtube, you're dead wrong
it’s not like she’s on stage performing for a paying audience she was just having fun in her room😭
I think it’s because not only was she really young here, but also she’s a theater performer! Meaning that the expressions need to be more exaggerated, so people in the audience can see better :D
amazing voice. too bad she's woke af.
Nope, too youthful and excessive head voice. But no vocal training gives you this bland sound...
Considering that she was 16, I’d hope she sounded youthful.

She has raw talent. Not the best attitude, but objectively a good singer.
