The fact that Dongie can look back on her lack of debut parts and screentime and laugh about it is great, because it shows just how far she's come since then. Now she gets tons of good lines and is front and center in the MVs. Justice has been served, best and most fair line distribution in the industry right here.

Fun fact for new InSomnias - during their Halloween street performance, the music was cut off near the end of one of their songs, but JiU kept dancing, and the crowd sang the rest of the song which allowed the group to finish the dance, all while in the freezing cold 😭 both this group and this fandom are incredible 🙏💕
That moment is actually captured in Dreamcatcher's Note of that event. There are so many great Deukae moments in those vids if you take the time to watch the old ones.
I just watched that performance, I teared up 😭 such dedicated fans! And such a good leader for keeping the choreo going
This can be added to the "Dreamcatcher being relatable idols" trope. DC can react to their past in two ways:
1. Reminiscing in peace, being like "ahh those good ol' memories", being happy and proud of their past achievements.
2. Cringing xD

It's so funny because this was their first stage and that was probably the point where she decided to never let it happen again. And she didn't, what a queen. 6 years (+ Minx) of live singing and little to no errors...
@@moongirl8807 NGL I prefer performances where they “mess up” or aren’t “perfect”.
These days most K-pop performances in general are so obsessed with absolute perfection that the backtrack is WAY up or pre-recorded live vocals or they’re just straight up 100% playing the CD lol.
So it’s actually really nice to have these moments that remind us that Dreamcatcher are are legit live performers. It adds so much character to their live stages. This is what performances should be, raw and real passion.
@@MM-uv9oc yes you can always hear them singing live. My favourite moment though is still Dongie's voice crack during the Maison encore and her little giggle afterwards
@@MM-uv9oc I mean Deukae consistently delivers live performances where they aren't "perfect" because they mess up volume and breath stuff, because who wouldn't when dancing their choreos. I personally find that much more humanizing and having the advantages you mentioned without the awkwardness of a note being off, which they virtually never do.
The 1st halloween cosplay busking is great. I remember fans also sing with them bcoz of audio problem & they do the dance in a very good way anyway👍👍👍
Dongie saying 'you won't see my face' made me sad. I didn't really notice her until she was gone off to China, then I really began to miss her. By the time she got back she was 100% bias wrecker.
I think she knew it even back then, I have no proof but some said that was the reason she wanted to do the Chinese survival show. Obviously she needed some growth too but I think she wanted to find out what she could do on her own and the company could figure out a better way to include her when she's back. Sadly no one saw a global pandemic coming and she was gone for almost a year. But she came back stronger than ever and I think the last comeback she was a favourite of many people. But I'm also glad how DCC treats her, they didn't just abandon her in China or kept her parts little. She gets more and more time to shine, can sing in Chinese, have solo songs in China and is treated like the other members. This sounds so trivial but some companies don't care as much about their Chinese idols.
@@moongirl8807 Yeah she said it in the show that she went there because she didn't get as many lines and wanted to get experience.
@inception2976 yeah if you see them reacting to old content you can see she's not happy or calls it out. But I also think this development as it was it good, she was a sub vocalist when they started and thus the lack of lines. Obviously I really love Handong but I can't stand people STILL whining over lines. Not that it should be normal but she has *so* much more lines than other idols that even have higher positions and people don't see it. Same with Gahyeon, she said herself she wasn't that good at debut and I think she had to earn these lines. In the end, they had positions as every other group when they debuted and looked after them. But that's still a shocker to some people.
@@moongirl8807 exactly this. i can understand people being sad that both her and gahyeon didn't have many lines, but they have both acknowledged that they weren't that good, so it's normal for them to get less lines. gahyeon even said in an interview, when the members chose her as the most hardworking one, that she didn't want to look back and be embarassed by her performances, so she worked hard to improve. they've both proved that they're essential members in the group (they already were chemistry wise, but they proved it performance wise) and now they get appropriate amounts of lines and screentime. if people complain now, it's just because they want something to complain about.
@momomomo__ exactly, in a way I'm surprised how well they grew into the group even in the beginning. If you didn't know them you'd never know. But the homogenous look helped maybe.
Also I watched a few old things through reaction channels and Handong actually shines A LOT on the b-sides, immediately from the start. You can see that they attempted it for Gahyeon too but I think she was a weaker vocalist so they didn't push her as much. Handong was perfect for soft songs though. Oh and Gahyeon didn't have the rapper position back then. Truly a major glowup.
