Dude, If I was behind a drum kit in the same freakin' room with you man?!! Bitches would freakin' spontaneously combust! I precisely feel the exact vibe you're swinging at amigo, and it's amazingly good stuff!! Seriously. Get out of my brain dude! Haha!
You’re a true YT artist! Comedy, drama, suspense all rolled up in an informative short documentary. A fantastic peek inside a song production process. My first vid of the day and it’ll stick with me for a while. Good luck topping this one!
Love it dude. Kvelertak all day. It's funny cuz there's certain Kvelertak songs where you can see production techniques that overlap qotsa's production overlap and vice versa. But so many of your viewers (myself included) were initially drawn in to your channel for the QoTSA related tones/tricks and tips so you got a bunch of LRGD /QoTSA minions [me included] (verbalize in the minion voice from the Despicable Me movie) saying "QooooooSTA. QoooooooSTA. QoSTA!!! Hahahahahaha!" Great vid man! Love the channel.
This was really insightful! , also recording yourself and editing it all together while trying to write and record an original song is a mammoth task! Amazing tones 🤘
Love it. Great original track, showing off the use of the pedal in a real world application and some in-depth look into your production techniques. All my basic needs are met with this video :D
That Supro and the Silver... those are my favorite tones. So good. All the others falling where they do are amazing. Just saying... those first 2 I mentioned I really really like. Love this channel. When youtube axed my other account this was the first music channel I resubbed to. I prefer the way you do pretty much everything man.
There’s always some comb filtering that sounds strange to me when blending amps. I’d need to go full Albini and buy an oscilloscope to get it to work for me lol.
The IR you used is probably compensated for latency when it was created... So in a way all the delay caused by the distance of the mic to the speaker is cut out. The result is that for the delay (not for tone) it is like the distance between the diaphragm of the mic and the cone of the speaker was zero. So when combining with a real mic and speaker, you have to delay the sound with the impulse responce or nudge the track with real stuff a bit back in time.
Since the travel distance from speaker to mic is different on the IR and the speaker of the Supro, I delay one of them to make in phase. I use a sample delay and adjust that until they are completely out of phase and then switch the polarity.
apart from the sound and tone crafting, the video production is amazing, man. Congrats. You should make a behind the scenes of how you shoot your videos.
Exactly how I record guitars….each track, different amp, pedal, and guitar ….with lower gain, just huge…..too bad you’re not here in the states…I need a guitar player of your caliber…
great video as to why the world needs producers... me cave man play guitar the layering makes my head spin and grab a beer and go yeah that sounds great do more of whatever that is... yeah ok
@@LivingroomGearDemos Actually I listened again through headphones and the tone is very cool (not meh). I should stop watching TH-cam on my phone. Sounds plenty gainey to me. Love the mid honk from that vt-40 and the lap steel at the end sounded great.

Tell me you're a QOTSA fan without telling me you're a QOTSA fan

Thanks man, that means a lot!!
Josh would be proud (also, the lap steel is so QOTSA!). Fantastic job.
Thanks Claudio! Maybe he'll be proud, maybe he'll be pissed I'm stealing his recording tricks 🤷🏼♂️
@@LivingroomGearDemos you ve done a fantastic job regardless!
Damn... that looks like it was A LOT of work!!!! Well done!
Thanks! Especially moving that big amp around for the thumbnail was a huge pain
Josh Homme will be sending a cease and desist shortly
lol. I actually like the Silvertone amp better in this case, so maybe Jack White can join him for a class action lawsuit?

This was a super fun watch. That tune & mix sound awesome!
Always great to get feedback like that when I’ve spent two weeks on a video. Thanks a lot, Zach!
love how you show all the different tracks and combine them later!
This is phenomenal! And thanks a million for going through and explaining your recording and mixing process in such detail!
Thanks for checking out Katie!
I can tell you put a lot of effort in your videos they're really good keep doing what you're doing!
Thanks! Yeah, a lot of work. Sometimes I get rewarded with lots of views and sometimes not. I really appreciate comments like this though!
Love your playing style and the tones you build. I come back to your videos from time to time for inspiration. They make me want to play more!
I love the composition. Your originals are always excellent man!!! Great job with the production too. Massive tones!
Thanks a lot Georgie Boy!
that isolated bass reminds me Mexicola, great video!!
Thanks!
I LOVED this video! Thank you for putting in the work! That Silvertone sounds soooo good with that Eras pedal 👌
Thanks Ben! And yeah, the Silvertone/eras combo was insane 🤌🏻
I love the tunes you record - please make an album!
great video! love all the explanations, from amp choices to the mix at the end
Thanks Alex! 🤝
I hear a little Queens with a dash of Mastodon. Very, very nice.
Thanks! I hear some Kvelertak in there as well
Brilliant! Absolutely rad tones 🎉🎉. Catchy riffs, too!
Sweeeeeet! Sounding awesome 👌🖤
Thaaanks!
Wow wow wow, this sounds freaking awesome dude!! I've just got the eras myself today and I'm really inspired after watching this!
Thanks man! How do you like the Eras so far?
Always enjoy your videos. Love the initial pic for the video of the small man and the big amp!
Thanks Charles! Moving that big amp around was extremely hard to do
That Silvertone! Love watching how you do this
Yeah, the silvtertone is a extremely capable amp! Need to make a video on it
Dude... please release this as a song in some form. Straight rock and roll gold,
Great video, superb tones and awesome song! Will definately experiment with this stuff when it's time to record.
Thanks and thanks!
Holy shit sounds amazing and wow whatta song!!
This tone is sick dude!!!!
thanks James!
This, is a GREAT tone video, and the song is really cool indeed.
thanks a lot!
Damn! Amazing riffs and tone! 🤘🏼
Takk Runar!
Sounds soooo good! Would love to hear how close you can get to a sound like this using Amplitube 5 or similar software. Love the channel!
Thanks!
Guitar Rig 6
sounds awesome mate!
Thanks a lot!
such a great work man💯
Thanks man!

Thanks!! Yeah, some work went down for this video 🙃
Sounds killer! Great job. Nice riffs too! 🤘

Thanks for checking out!
This is amazing and was awesome to watch, very inspiring to record for myself and I'm sure others.
Very glad to hear. Thanks!

Nice job man! I use two amps together all the time, a hotrod deluxe and a 71 jmp superlead. It really fills out the sound!
This video was awesome and I’d love to hear more amp combos you come up with!
Thanks!
Cool video man! What's that PS6 guitar? It sounds great!!
Thanks, it's a PX6!
There’s always some comb filtering that sounds strange to me when blending amps. I’d need to go full Albini and buy an oscilloscope to get it to work for me lol.

it sounds like early qotsa and triggerfinger mushed together! awesome!
so I guess triggerfinger is a band I need to check out?
@@LivingroomGearDemos hell yes! a belgium based band, i'd reccomend game and colossus as first songs
The note choices on that lap steel were kiiiillleeeerrrr
thaaaanks!
Unbelievable tone dude …. 👊🏻
Thanks a ton!
i'm loving it, lovely sound and track by the way, where can we only listen the song entierly ( sound cloud or something ) ? Thx a lot
nope, this is the whole song unfortunately.
THAT REVERB ON THE SLIDE IS KILLER, how did you get that? Could you do a video or a youtubeshort on your approach to reverb for guitars?
Sure!
Super solid!
Appreciate it!
Awesome. Can you just explain what kind of phase issues you fixed with the delay, applied on the Supro?
Since the travel distance from speaker to mic is different on the IR and the speaker of the Supro, I delay one of them to make in phase. I use a sample delay and adjust that until they are completely out of phase and then switch the polarity.
That was awesome. Love the tone. How would you go about making a live tone for this?
Thanks! Good question. I would try to use two amps, pushed by an overdrive or a boost. And the Eras with a tiny bit of gain and 70 % clean blended in.
So did you use a signal splitter or DI signal and reamp for all the multitracked mic/amp tracks? If so what’s your choice for DI and reampers?
Hi Taylor. I used a signal splitter. Lehle P-Split
apart from the sound and tone crafting, the video production is amazing, man. Congrats. You should make a behind the scenes of how you shoot your videos.
I have done that! :) And thanks!
What are the shoes? I like em! Great video
Love the sound+ Love the song 😎 A question; What laptop are you using?
Keep up the awesome work 🤟
Thanks! M1 Macbook Pro
Very cool tone! In a world of cookie cutter guitar tones this is really unique and reminds me of something Eric Valentine might do 🤘
ah, thanks, that's very cool to hear. I'm a huge fan of his work!
Let's get this guy to 10 million subs.
Hi John, thanks a lot. Hoping to get there by the end of this month.

Helvete bra jobb. I don't need any course if We have your channel.😆 Thx. And cheers.

QOTSA sounds!

Queens of the Ghost Mastodon.
and Kvelertak maybe
nice homme vibes
Really nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!

Maybe add a clean bass guitar track too...
I did at first, bud in this case I felt it didn't add much. Good trick though!
Again, why aren't you in a band?
I don’t have the time at the moment.
Why dont you sing?
The track is really nice but despite a lot of hard work the guitar tone is kinda.. meh.
Listening back to it now, I could have added more gain. I really like the gain character that I got, but it's a bit difficult to hear.
