    I don’t live in Hawaii or plan on moving anytime soon. I’ve only been to Maui once but I love watching you both. Something awesome is conveyed so well when you both are in the videos. I mean individually you’re both awesome but together I ❤❤❤❤❤❤!! Thank you so much for sharing you’re collective knowledge! Happy Mother’s Day too!

    Thank you for the great video. We are about to move to Hawaii next week so we are very excited and scared at the same time. I enjoyed watching the videos about the houses with the actual neighborhood. My boys are in taekwondo classes so hopefully we can find a great place out there and they can keep taking the classes.

    Another great video with Mahe and Derek! The banter between you two always cracks me up. Reminds me of me and my siblings.

    I grew up in Hawaii Kai(70's & 80's). The traffic in/out of Hi Kai is much better now that they widened the main road. If it's raining in Hawaii Kai, then most likely the whole island is raining. Summers were Hot!. If I had a choice on where to live in Hawaii Kai again, it would probably be in the valley(as long as my back yard is not up against the mountains).

    We bought on Oahu, just came back home to Santa Fe. I will not ever feel bad for me driving 5 minutes to our co op with the fresh greens and food. Everyone has their priorities so just enjoy Every place you are and what it can offer!

    Love your videos. We Have an awesome end unit in Mauna Luan for 4 years. Moving to Hawaii Kai permanently in 18 months but had to buy a Townhome because Condos don’t allow big dogs. Love, love, love Hawaii Kai. Happy to moving there permanently.

    Loving your videos Derek! You ever considered doing a personal blog or something outside of the real estate stuff?

      I’ve been considering a few more channels actually. What do you think I should do?
      I’m working on a HAWAII podcast channel, a real estate education channel, and potentially another one similar to this, plus looking for partners to work with to focus on the other islands

      @@movingtohawaii Just general stuff on Hawaii or surrounded areas for us mainlanders to envy. Different food places? Different scenic areas? Current trends going on there, etc.

    Nice to visit there...maybe once...but would have to be insane to live there.

    I would have to put a door in that garage to the house. One of the advantages of having a garage is that you don't have to put on all your clothes to go to your car, and you can unload your car without having to lock it all up while going back and forth. The house does have its fence around it, though, and I couldn't tell if it had a gate.

    Nice video. So is it windier/cooler in the valley versus the ridge?

    • @movingtohawaii
      @movingtohawaii  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The ridge is extremely windy, especially the windward-facing side of Na Pali Haweo ridge. Other ridges are slightly sheltered from these winds, but still experience winds and weather associated with living in an elevated location. In general, the ridges experience cooler temperatures. If you compare Hawaii Kai valley with let's say Manoa valley, then Hawaii Kai valley will be drier and less humid.

    Are there building height restrictions in Hawaii? Here in DC, it's 130 feet for commercial streets and 90 feet for residential streets.

    I like the beams in the first house, and the floor in the condo is perfect to skate on 🛼🛼 We went to this Zippy’s and enjoyed the view. It was nice to meet Aiden and Jodie the other day. Hope to meet you both in the future!
    PS. My umbrella came home with Thursday’s Honolulu rain, and I shook it out today in Seattle 😅 (it was in the target umbrella bag since).
