WE MADE IT THROUGH A MONTH OF MEDICINE! 🥳 What is your favorite part of the vlogs? What do you guys want to see more of? Also sorry for being a little late on the vlog today 😩 Stayed up late editing again but WE GOT IT DONE!
As a chronically sick patient who goes to a teaching hospital (I was just inpatient July 18-August 6th w a rare kidney disease so I’m usually asked for many residents and med students to see me bc it’s so rare), I was wondering what can a patient do to make your experience as a first year resident easier? I know July comes first year residents every year (I’ve been in the hospital a lot Obvy- so what can a patient do to help??). As an ‘experienced’ patient (unfortunately 😫🤪), it is very clear to see a 1st Resident from a mile away in July and August… so what can I do to make the situation easier for a new resident?
As a case manager I thank you for recognizing us and our work. It’s doctors like you that makes the work a little easier. I’ve said it before and I will say it every time you are already turning into an amazing doctor babyyy. Good luck with the rest of med school Tristian✨
What we see of your hospital seems so clean and beautiful, how are the actual rooms where people are treated and stay? Here in Canada, more precisely the province of Quebec (I'm close to Ottawa), we get good treatment once we are admitted, the problem is to get admitted (very very long waiting hours in the ER, to get appointments with doctors and specialists etc). Also our hospitals are not well kept, not nice like yours. Our problem is not enough employees but mostly unions have a very long reach. Bottom line we have to take care of ourselves to prevent the dreaded visits to hospitals. Thanks for sharing your stories, they are much appreciated, and quite positive. Cheers!!!
Congrats! I'm so excited to see you strive through all this with such positivity, I'm genuinely looking forward to your videos everyday haha. I'm entering neuro for my term of medical school next, do you have any tips?
I think all your vlogs are interesting. It does help to have a great team. Watching u learn is my favorite part. You ayee did look tired Tuesday. Just keep sharing. Your pts are so blessed. Cardiology is very interesting and at times sxary. Cant wait to hear about it
Love that u show your doggies. And u always have a great personality to get up every day and be the best u can be and helping people get better. Im in and out of the hospital lots for lots of different things. Enjoy your nect spot u are going to love your videos ❤
oh man I am so sorry to hear that :( I can't imagine the pain you're feeling. But I am sure you gave her such an incredible life and she will always be in your heart
Interesting vlog...Chip you are a good boy! Lol. Question...do they teach case management in medical school? Its great to work with an excellent team. Btw...food and snacks look amazing!!
God West Virginia needs good doctors like u most the time u have to go out of town to find a dr to treat u sad I need a shot in back lower spin is bone on bone I was a waitress for 30 years but have to drive a hour for it so no shot keep being a great dr
My case manager absolutely failed me. She did nothing. Did she help me get the appts I needed or the referrals? Nope. She did nothing ti help me get the medical supplies I needed. My doctor hadn't put in the referrals for the supplies. Then I didn't know what supply company was covered by my insurance. Then I didn't know how to use the supplies. My home health nurse wasn't showing up. My lazy case manager told me to just go to the ER to get help with all of that. So pathetic. She was a waste of a paycheck. What is the point of a case manager because I thought it was to coordinate care? I have to say Hollister was so good to me. Their rep made sure I had ostomy supplies while I waited for my doctor and insurance company to figure it out how to do their jobs.
I used to volunteer for Make-A-Wish and the kiddos always spoke so highly of their doctors and I saw how much of an impact they made so I decided to go to med school! :)
I'm going to miss T-Boogie aka Tristan lol. But I'm also like seeing more Naomi on these vlogs. Always hilarious watching you guys be silly. The food always looks amazing. I would've raided the sandwiches in the fridge lol. Did you even have time to nap in your little office room this month?
Sooo... I've been wondering.... u speak with these different nurses, case workers and other staff. What are ur thoughts on CNA's? RN's yes are important and the other medical staff are very important to care for a patient but the CNA's also help care for these patients. CNA's get treated like so much crap and I'm interested to know ur point of view. I am also a CNA and I get treated like dog crap from RN's, Doctors and other higher educated medical staff all the time and I get very depressed when they all treat me so bad
Maybe residency programs could instead change the amount of time you work in the hospital if they aren’t going to increase pay? Like 2 days a week off and a maximum number of hours you can work a week, like 60? Idk I feel like politics is a huge reason residents don’t get more money. My cousin was a resident in the early 2000s and he told me it was normal to spend 90 hours a week in the hospital 🤯.
Gotcha i have a full blooded toy poodle is why i asked. Expensive dog to care for but my fiance and i love him and wouldnt trade it for anything in the world. Also just a regular guy here family man and highschool drop out and blue collar but love watching your videos love seeing behind the scenes of a doctors day. Hope you enjoy your day off get plenty of rest 🙏
So,.. remember you were kind of disappointed you didn’t get medicine the first week but got surgery… funny how things work sometimes, right?!!?!? Bc I feel like you ended your liking that much better. I could be wrong
