I’ve been listening to Mdou Moctar a lot over the last several months. Kinda amazing to catch them here! Thank you
literally just listened to a bit of them today, now they're on my fav podcast, very sweet
That band is… wild
I was also pretty pumped to see them on this show. Check out their live KEXP in studio performances, those are amazing as well.
I did a double take when I saw their name on here. Got into them about a year or so ago, really good band
It seems as if every time there is music on the show it becomes something I didnt know I needed
The “Hi guys, it’s Jeremy Renner.”drop will always be funny
i never expect the musical guests you guys score. tuareg music on a comedy show? here for it. 'studio session' set-up is cool too
Brendon Walsh was hilarious last week. Also, good to have Tim back
This is one of the greatest episodes ever
I love when the guests appreciate the genius of viral Phil Braun
This Mdou Moctar guy totally shreds
Holy Guacamole! Mdou Moctar performance was siiiiiick!
So wild and amazing you have Mdou Moctar on here!
I watched this video to the end and said to myself, "When are they going to show clips from The Office??????"
Tim is such a good hearted person. He's a role model for me. Helping emancipate myself from a hostile world.

I've noticed that whenever you get shrimp at an expensive place, you'll only get 3-4 shrimp at most. They're usually pretty huge compared to other places, but still, it's just not worth the price. My girlfriend loves shrimp (and hates most other things, so she'll often order shrimp at any place that has it), and she got this expensive shrimp dish at this place and it only came with 2 big shrimps and some random crap on the side that she was never going to eat. So she finished eating the shrimp in like 30 seconds and then was hungry afterward. I think the dish was like $26.
Meanwhile, I ordered some sort of steak that was like 2"x2" in size, but it at least came with a decent serving of mashed potatoes and asparagus or something. But it was also like $50. And the steak itself was nothing to write home about, so it was kinda a waste too. I feel like I often have a better experience with steaks at less-expensive places (because I think it's mostly just about timing - I don't think there's really much "skill" involved). I think these more expensive places are often busy so they're churning out dishes every 5 seconds, and they'll often get the timing wrong on the steak because they're just focused on being fast and making things look "presentable."
Dunno if anyone cares, but to clarify about Graceland Too:
Yes, the guy was very (very) eccentric and had turned his home into a wild sort of DIY Elvis museum, full of lots of collectible, fan club-type of memorabilia. You could essentially knock on his door at any hour of the night (sort of a rite of passage for drunk kids coming from Ole Miss, something to do after the bars closed at 12am) and he would let you in and give you a well-rehearsed tour of his home. I remember some bizarre wrinkle about how he had tried to mold his own son into a sort of Elvis doppelgänger, and they had become estranged, likely due in part to his Elvis obsession.
Yes, he would flash a pistol before starting each tour, reminding you, "No funny business." I thought this would be scary/unsettling, but it didn't end up bothering me that much, it just came off as a formality, and I never felt unsafe during the tour.
I was gonna write up a whole explanation of the shooting and the end of Graceland Too, but turns out there's a pretty extensive Wikipedia article about it. Apparently he got into an argument with a young local man he had hired to paint his house, over a few measly dollars, and ended up shooting and killing him. No charges were filed, and in a bizarre coincidence, he died of a heart attack on his porch 36 hours later. So yeah, fucked up, but it had nothing to do with a tour and the man was not there to visit the museum.
I just wanted to sit with Steve Albini with my iPod on shuffle.
Mdou Moctar is fucking AMAZING. please get more acts like this on here. love the show :)
Wow. Great band😮
Great to see Mdou Moctar. Great show!!
Great choice of musical guests! Known them for a while. It elevated the show🎉I would say it is world prog at its best!
Opening is gonna be my new alarm sound.
'bob dylan looks like allison janney dressed up like gene simmons' lmao (as i am typing this, kyle called out the lack of reaction to that statement - i gotchu kyle)
It's a spot on description, I think they couldn't visualize Allison Janney in the moment
You guys should do more prerecorded bands. It sounded great. You could rival tiny desk concert or whatever
great guest and amazing show as always. also, vics set up is kind of dope, good idea to set the laptop higher than the keyboard.
Edit: Mdou Moctar is sick as hell, never heard of them before but they sound awesome. new fan for sure.
RFK’s brain worm actually died from starvation.
👏👏👏
I just watch this show for Phil
Danny Masterson on work release
First Gizz now Mdou Moctar damn Tim's got great taste
“You gotta stay toasty or Jack Frost will bite off your toes.”- Bob Dylan
This is a hard listen after the Albini CSAM information has resurfaced … That reddit post listing it all out made me sick
I always had a problem with his ridiculous use of treble. Now this comes out...
MDOU MOCTAR FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
Where’s AD Miles??
Kyle didn't seem to like the RFKj joke hmmmm (like that's surprising)
Dirt Nap was excellent. Highly recommend. X
...Cher turned us down though
MDOU FOREVER
I like the variety of IQs brought on the show lately
"The worm died of starvation" is a better punchline
i will send a bill
Mdou!!!
Deeply saddened to hear the Master Engineer Steve Albini has passed. He was a brilliant, funny man. He recorded my irrelevant band. i am humbled to have received his charity twice.
Cool. Who is your band and how was your experience recording with Albini?
@@EdFredHernandez Recording is an intense make or break experience. You would think it was enjoyable? Steve was very nice. If only I could write better. th-cam.com/video/9T3Y1KKyzDM/w-d-xo.html

That didn't sound like a duck.
Yeah but what about the Ken Vankermark joke?
What was the cause of death for the worm in RFK Jr.'s brain?
IT had worms in ITS brain. That and stage 7 gonorrhea.

That pop tart movie. Was absolute garbage. No Jerry. Bad Jerry. Please stop it Jerry.
Nice Doritos commercial. You guys are falling off.
Is it nice or are we falling off make up your mind
Mdou Moctar Doritos….mmmmmmm
@@OfficeHoursLive you're so out of touch you don't understand sarcasm any longer? Get with it! But truthfully, it makes the audience feel like you're being sneaky and getting one over on them with this style of ad. I hate it on Mullaney's live thing too. Sleazy I tell ya!
Does your dim brain tell you that we planted a bag of weird shitty Doritos with a zoomer for some product placement to spend a few minutes shitting on the new flavor which then led to us talking about our favorite Doritos? That’s dim!
I like Doritos
