It's okay. Agar project nahi hai to vo doosre topics se bhi questions poochh lete hai. Lab based questions ya tumhara favorite subject/topic. They test what you know, not what you don't know.

It is a general result that comes from the math. You can please refer to the Griffiths book.
Sir can we answer only one subject like (Quantum Mechanics etc.) when they ask us about favorite subject for PHD interview

Varun bhai iska idea nahi mujhe. I think IISER TVM etc bula lete hai. Apne class me Shivani ko call kiya tha unhone is baar.

Exact shortlisting criteria to unhone nahi bataya, but ye teen scores hi consider kiye the. Bina NET/Gate ke bhi bache shortlist (even final select) hue hai based on cgpa.
If someone have avarage cpga (like 7) bt have net jrf so they shortlisted?
@@arijitsaha6451 in general if you have good ranks in the exam, you will be shortlisted.
I have one doubt...kya pehle se hi mujhe apna research interest ekdam praticularly jaan ke wahan jana hai? Matlab ki I like qm,atomic molecular,laser, statistical ... Lekin wo particular field smjh nhi aa rha hai ki kya karna behtar rahega... Aur kyonki field hi smjh nhi paa rhi hoon to isiliye kaun kaun institutions mein form fill Karu ye bhi smjh nahi aa tha
No, strict pre planning is not required. Specially in big institutes, most of the time you will not get the specific field of work you want. Be open, look at the professors in the institute. You will have yo work with one of them only.

Yes you can. But there are not many faculty working in Astrophysics here.

@@pkdgamerz4652Aries, TIFR astronomy department and NCRA, ICTS has people in Astrophysical relativity. I am not aware ehich IISERs are good at Astronomy. You can check individual websites.
