You're the only review to comment on the lack of 3rd party NRTL safety certification, just CE. Its a concern for professional use if interpreted by the book, in Canada say by ESA in Ontario or OSHA in the USA. DSOs are CAT 1 or CAT O rated devices, so even if certified they are not meant to be used near mains or greater [ CAT 2 or more]. The WVGA LCD is the same as Rigols in spec, and appears identical in res and color depth, at least to me. I've used Instek devices off/on for 30+ years and their support for gear is excellent, but they are not historically one to add features beyond originally specified in the documents, just bug fixes; bugs and design flaws are fairly rare in their manufacturing which is a reason to choose them. Thus, firmware updates tend to be sparse except if when bugs are there. If you upgrade the firmware you may see an increase to 120,000 wfms/s and a trigger output implemented in software, which is undocumented in their website. Enjoy.
Simply put, what you read in the datasheet of the Instek 1000B is what it does. The Rigol 1054z is what they hope it will do. The forum discussions on eevblog about bugs and new bugs continue to this day, over 2 years since it was released. In general the Rigol works, but not as specified.
these full, gorgeous nostrils! deserve a like great sir ! the review is mediocre though. my 3 cents haha :D ! a nice day to you sir! (not a hindi, just like the word "sir" put in a proper context like above.)
