To be clear, wordpress is not free because it's open source. It's free because it's GPL licensed. Open source simply means the code is not compiled or encrypted, so you have full access to modify it to your needs. Excellent video, though. I wouldn't say any dumb ass, but that was the point of the development, so everyone would be able to do it themselves, although just like you, I much rather prefer coding. I must say, I tried using cms myself and it is actually convenient, but same, I prefer coding everything myself :)

Benjamming 333, Know that if you want to be hired by a serious and "variable" task/assignment company that creates websites for major clients all over the world then you WILL indeed need some coding if not a lot! Especially if you want interactive websites with loads of full-blown applications running inside of the website. Just knowing WordPress alone might get you a job at a local newspaper for their online stuff or maybe creating a very, very simple advertising website for a small-to-mid size company. But making websites like Amazon.com or even Walmart.com, they are going to demand that you know more than just WordPress. Even major websites like TH-cam, Facebook, Blizzard gaming ect reply on coders, not WordPress guys.
There's more to the Computer Science than just websites..
I would also watch a full 4-hour version of him explaining anything.

Print & Digital Production Manager looking for work. As I build my resume I had to create an online creative portfolio. I decided to use WIX to do it. I'm happy with the result and as you said, didn't have to touch any code. Would It be safe to say I could say that if I could do a WIX site that I would have no problem working on a Wordpress site?
