A lot of good stuff in that video to learn and experiment with. I used to handle gear for a friend who was guitarist and studio musician. Whenever I was over at his place I'd always checkout the albums that were sit out by his stereo to see what he's been listening. Every once in awhile I'd see nothing but Beatles albums and it might be that way for a couple weeks. So I finally asked what's up with all the Beatles? He said he'd been feeling in a creative slump on sessions and listening to the Beatles for awhile always gives me ideas and I come out of my slump. Could say it paid off later on he played on Lennon and Harrison solo albums.
Another great video! Personally, B natural is one my favorite keys to play in! There’s almost no difference between the feel of Gb and B, so no excuses! And you might need to accompany a singer in a ‘non Gospel’ key (D, A, E, B), so its always good to practice songs (and concepts from the songs) in multiple keys! We might need a pt 2 on this cause these boys don’t like playing in A natural either 😂
This is so interesting! I'm from the Netherlands, and I'm a gospel pianist in my church as well. We are playing 75% of the time on the white keys (I can play in every key tho but this is what the vocals prefer singing in). Thanks for the good content Deyquan God bless you
Great video, information, and advice here bro! Perfect songs to choose to advise us up incoming key players to listen to to get get better in B natural 👍🏾👍🏾
Loved the tutorial. Only thing I found difficult to listen to was the effect you had on the EP. The thing that's making it lo fi or a bit out of tune. I mean it's not a problem but made it difficult for me to listen. Perhaps it's a sensitivity issue 😂
I see from the song "As" that Brian Courtney Wilson was inspired by Stevie to even do the song "Sure As" 😂 It must be discussed through as to why Gospel music is strictly on black keys, like aren't they 7 more keys in the chromatic scale 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the teachings sir!
Dey you have become a genius! Thank you for all you do and share! I've watched and heard you develop from and since Likety Split! It's more than a pleasure lil bro! May God continue to help and bless you along the way!!! 😊🎶🎵🎶

Wow thanks for the story T! ✊🏾
Man Stevie can keep us busy all year!
Keep playing Stevie tunes and maybe one day Greg Phillinganes can't make a session and you'll get a phone call.
