These are my old stomping grounds. I've been away from NYC for a LOOONG time. This brings back memories. Grabbing these patties, getting on the 2 train and enjoying my meal before getting to my destination.
I don’t miss White Plains road, but I miss their coco bread. It’s the best I’ve ever had besides in Jamaica 🇯🇲

I'm from Harlem and worked in the Bronx for a minute. I used to Always hit this spot if I had a moment. Coco bread is Crazy! Beef Patty, Chicken Patty, everything is Fresh.

Ever since I was introduced to coco bread as a kid, I'd use plain ole white bread whenever I eat a patty. Coco bread is a Jamaican patty essential. And even I questioned it as a kid at first.
Keeping tradition alive and the history to,baking is a time honored tradition that comes from a family that have’s the love understanding heart,to bake their product to sale to everyone with great flavor and texture you will love.
63 years old have eaten and enjoyed Jamaican beef patties all my life, never thought of putting it inside a bun. Why I love this channel.

My spot!!!! Love Kingston Bakery. My son went to school on 226th we STAYED in there. The Easter Bun is phenomenal!. I miss my hood!

I remember Action Bronson & Mayhem Lauren visiting this legendary bakery on thier show about 10 yrs ago. & I was utterly mesmerized in envy ! lol 😅
FACTS!!!! This is the closest patty place and bakery to what I grew up eating in Jamaica! U know when people actually went to the local bakery to buy bread and other baked goods fresh out the oven? A it dis right yah suh! When I cross the bridge to buy my lot, my vehicle returns fully stocked with patties, coco breads, buns, breads, sugar bun (my fave) and anyting else wah ketch mi yeye dem. Anytime I go hear mi to mi self, "God if me did live a Bronx, mi woulda fat like mud fish cause a dah bakery yah, no sah!"

Same! My grandparents used to bring boxes of baked JA goodies back to CT for us. Nothing was better than the patties.

I lived on 228 white plains, and I used to get the harddough bread as soon as it came out of the oven before I went to work, that with some hot chocolate is a bust.

Lately I’ve been disappointed with a lot of Pattie’s out here because they stopped using beef suet in the crust dough. that’s what creates the flaky crust, a lot of the Pattie’s out there lack the flakiness

that first meatloaf sandwich reminds me of lebanese meat pies.used to get them all the time but they got older and closed.their lazy kids didn't carry on.they had regular,hot,cheese they were incredible.stay cool JL

Their Coco Bread and End Bread is the best! I’m not in love with their Patties because there are better options in the Bronx! I would purchase the patty at Royal Caribbean Bakery then, drive to Kingston Tropical for my Coco Bread and End Bread! The lines are always out the doors for the Coco Bread. Happy eating!

That steamin' meat loaf patty brought me right back to Tower Isle in Brooklyn in the '70s. Never had a patty in coco bread, but I'm up to try it. I could see gettin' a dozen to bring back home. And if Kraig does some jerk cookin' I'd be glad ta see that too. Got most of the ingredients right here in the pantry.
All coco bread is not created equal. Be sure to get quality coco bread.

JL thank you for visiting my borough the boogie down!! Jamaican beef patty and coco bread is a game changer. The first time I had it was many, many, many years ago when my friends introduced me to it and I've loved the combo ever since. My favorite is of course the ground beef but not too spicy. If you love the Jamaican patty, try it from one of our local pizza shops with mozzerella cheese and pepporoni added along with the coco bread. Totally a different experiance in flavor and taste.

JL, I was telling my family about authentic Jamaican patties earlier today. Outside of Jamaica, NY has some really good ones. Just moved to St. Paul, MN from Chicago and we have a sizable Hmong population and restaurants. Give us a shot one day.
I remember going there after school back in the mid 90s. A nice warm patty and coco bread would be like 2.10. Loved them days

I used to get patties here with my grandfather back in the late 80's and early 90's. I miss that authentic flavor.
JL I have been going to get my Pattie’s and coco bread there since 1983. Spicy patty will lit you up, veggie is good for the soul and chicken is good for lunch. The cinnamon buns are good with that thick cheese they sell. Get a carrot juice or an Irish moss to wash down your meal. If you are having a party or people or for the game you can get cocktail size patties. On my next trip back home from SC this will be my 1st stop. ✊🏾. JL thank you for this video 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾

100% facts! I've passed by this spot on the 2 🚂 for years but never stopped in. When I finally got there I picked up two chicken patties and coco bread. I loved them on 5/8/2023.

I’m Jamaican and have been going to that bakery since I was a kid. Their coco bread is the BEST. No bakery, not even in Jamaica (yes, I said it) makes a better coco bread. 🇯🇲
This place had me spoiled all my life. When I got older I went to get a patty at another spot and was confused when the pulled the coco bread out of a bag and it wasnt fresh baked. It was a deep fear that this place would close after the pandemic like so many others! So glad this legend survived.

Crazy thing is they opened several more locations. KTB-Harlem on W. 145 between St Nicholas Ave and Edgecombe Ave. One In BK and another one in the BX on Morris Ave and 167st
JL this nuts. 1st time trying Patty and Coco Bread. Shout out the JA massive, well all Cousins from the Caribbean Trinidad 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹. Growing up in Toronto this was a staple. Used to cost 1.50 for both and a drink..I miss those days and prices. Felt well full after eating that!!

My sweet co-worker Sylvia introduced me to Coco Bread in NJ during the 90s. She was so sweet. Invited me to her home. Her hubby was sweet too. Both Jamaican. We have Golden Crust beef patties here in Georgia in supermarket freezers. Unfortunately, I swore off beef a long time ago. I tried their meatless pattie. Not as good as the beef one.
From what I remember, there was a great spot, and I can’t remember the name on Gunhill Road in the Bronx as well
I’m surprised people are new to having beef patties with coco bread. That’s the only way we been eating in Jamaica Queens since we were kids. Gotta have them both together for the full experience. But not all coco breads are created equal. I gotta try this spot in the BX.

JL, you need to take another trip to Jamaica for the beef patties. My favourite is Tastee's and Juicy patties are pretty good as well... trust mi brother. Patty and coco bread in Jamaica with that drink Ting you love is gonna be memorable. I guarantee!!

That pattie inside a coco bread is something you do once in awhile. Too much bread = too much carbs. I've never been to that location, I've lived in The Bx for over 20 yrs, now I live in Crooklyn. I got to go up to The Bx and visit that place.
They have the absolute best coco bread hands down. I've been a fan since childhood.

The Bronx is mediocre with Jamaicans, Brooklyn is where they are at heavily. I flew to the West Indian day parade from LA and Brooklyn is the staple for Jamaicans.
