Head unit heaven! | Sony DSX-B700 | Panda 100HP

Something that’s bugged me about the Panda 100HP has always been the mildly naff sound system. The time finally came to upgrade the head unit. My choice? A Sony DSX-B700. In this video, I attempt to fit it.
What’s next - perhaps some speakers?

This was great. I've been shopping for a new 2-din NAV system for my "new" Panda too. I WAS going to install it myself, but now I'm thinking otherwise. lol. The other videos I've watched make it look so easy, but yours is more realistic. I appreciate that.

Another great video Daniel. I’ve recently bought a 100hp and it’s been a fantastic experience. The OE audio is poor though. I’m curious to know where the sound quality is noticeably improved and are the subwoofer outlets simply low pass filters which require a separate amp or would a standalone sub work independently? It’s been many years since I did any aftermarket car audio! Thanks, keep up the great work and best of luck with driving lessons!!

It's the first time I've done car audio myself, but I noticed a huge difference in just replacing the head unit. I also fitted recently some Alpine speakers which have enhanced the sound even more. For me, sub woofers aren't essential, but they'd definitely improve things even more.

That looks a great car stereo 😊bit more complicated than the one I had in my first car 😂That was a radio only thinking it might not even had Fm. Soon swapped for a radio cassette with Fm 👍

Good video Daniel. I just got one of these, and I can't see the display in the sunlight. Have you had any problems with that?

I read reviews about the screen being difficult to read in bright sunlight, but I don’t find it to be too big of a problem. Depends on the angle of the dash and positioning of the head unit I guess!

(And...there's a brother? An older/younger version of you?!)

Hmmm... I'm not entirely sure. I had hundreds of songs and never had an issue. Maybe something to ask Sony.

Mine came in the box, but you can order almost any from eBay as long as it has the same connector type.

Hi Daniel, great video. I've just watched a similar video by another TH-camr but he fitted a wire running from the fuse box up through the dash and behind the head unit. Apparently this ensures that it switches on and off with the ignition. I know you didn't do this but I take it the unit works completely as it should etc? Thanks

Yep, all works how it should and it turns on and off via the ignition.
