    Great job John. I feel that as a safety precaution, at least two people shall be in detail when performing this type of task. It is dangerous and an extra person could make a great difference in the event of an accident. You know, we want to continue enjoying your videos for many years.

      You seem to know your stuff. I had a chipper try to pull me into the ditch yesterday on route to go dump a load of chips. I managed to pull out of it and almost rolled the truck. However the chipper rolled.
      The tree service I was helping seems to think I went off the road. I've never done this and I would appreciate your insight on why that might happen.
      I called the folks at bandit for answers and they said it could have been a bearing or even a tire blowout. I feel bad for the owners this was a new truck and new chipper and would love to clear my name with these guys.
      Any info would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks!

    I actually do have a powerful wood chipper but mine is gas powered and doesn’t have any hydraulic in-feed system. Only has a cutter wheel. I do enjoy watching your videos of landscaping and yard equipment. Keep up the excellent work! 😉

    I turned on Bad to The Bone while you were chipping after you mentioned it! The song was just long enough for the entire time you were chipping! hahaha
    On the subject of the chipper, they are definitely worth it rather then hauling brush. We have done tree work on a big estate property that is on the river and we just shoot all the chips into the marsh rather the hauling anything away. There are absolutely big savings on those trips to the dump. Love the videos man, good work.

    I see you're running a dump truck. That's smart. Those arborist dump rigs are EXPENSIVE! For some reason one can get a dump truck for a lot less and they're built like a tank. I think I am going to get a Bandit chipper too. I have a good feeling about them. It is hard to find a list of the best 5 or 10 chippers except for those ridiculous homeowner ones. Reviews of various chippers would be nice. I will keep looking! Nice video! Thanks!

      ***** I feel the same way. It's such a shame when I meet someone who either wants to or has removed most of the trees from their property.

    massive chipper for such small material .nice if the customer is prepared to pay the hire cost in the price .The new 15hp chippers that go through garden gates would have coped with that easily available to buy for £2k delivered ......worth a thought .Roller chippers are great on large tree jobs .

    Never chip wood last. Chip it first then let the brush push the piece of wood that's left between the inside of the feeder wheels and the cutting disc. If u chip wood last sometimes when u start up the next time and try to engage the clutch, the blade will dig into the piece of wood that's left and wont let the cutter wheel spin.

    Good stuff. I was curious after you completing this job, if you would rent the chipper again versus hauling the brush off in your dump truck. Was the time savings worth the expense of the chipper? Would you do the same in the future with a similar sized job?
    And don't worry, your secret about the pitch fork is safe with me. I won't say anything.

      Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure where you are located, but maybe you could find a private landowner with some wooded acreage to dump brush and limbs? Save you some dump fees.

    next time put the big stuff through first then the fine stuff then it will clean out the area between the feed rollers and chipper head of any big debre.

  • @ryanhunneshagen3704
    @ryanhunneshagen3704 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You should not have just pushed the clutch bar in like that. You push it in enough to make the engine rev down then pull it back do that a couple of times then go and push it all the way in. It saves the clutch and the engine

    • @kevinkirzinger3387
      @kevinkirzinger3387 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BitchyBanana i found out now that when you chip woods then u are going to sell thats to biogas factorys and its using for create furnitures there i guess.And the other thing is if u have a garden and if u necessary manure for feed plants u can use this kind of rotten wood chips for their earth :)

    • @Wilde0709
      @Wilde0709 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chips are most often dumped at a site along with logs and other landscape debris. Then a big tub grinder is used to grind everything up into mulch that is then typically sold to local landscape supply yards for local landscapers and home owners to buy for gardens. Basically if you buy mulch from local bulk distributers and you are buying trees that were taken down in your area.

    And you should not leave it running that long at the end you’ll burn the clutch disks you bring the engine down to idle then release the clutch then you turn the engine off immediately
