For people who are wondering if they should do this or not. It is up to you. The reasoning behind it working is that, under where he is stepping is the APU. Sometimes the soldering inside the sockets can crack overtime and essentially by him stepping on that part of the PS4 (Not too hard...) is reconnecting some of the cracks in the solder.. This obviously isn't a guaranteed or permanent fix, but it is worth a shot if you're running out of options.
To those wondering why this actually works is because it basically reattaches the APU solder balls back into to the mother board, you can do the same by opening the ps4 and applying pressure on the apu unit , note: can only work on old gen ps. Dont press too hard as it could crack

You should buy an Xbox series s that’s what I switched to my ps4 is perfectly fine, I dropped mine once and it stoped working all I did after the repair shop said it was broke I pulled my side panel off and shimmied my hard drive then pushed it in place hooked it up right in front of the repair guy and it turned on instantly it was complexity reset, I signed in and everything just had to download that’s all game wise obviously
Ok look guys. The problem here is with the BGA array under the APU (CPU + GPU). What he is doing is simply bending the motherboard so the cracked solder joints temporarily make contact again. Please, pleeeeaaase be smart and DON'T DO THIS! Just get it repaired by someone who can resolder the APU. If you do this you only do more damage. PLUS you risk to crack the APUs DIE in the worst case, which would mean the APU will be destroyed permanently with absolutely no way to fix it. So you'd have an expensive paperweight.
Subject 049 mine actually gives me graphics errors and says the CPU is failing all I do it leave it off for 24 hours and it works just fine. I've gotten the blue light of death a few times but just keeping it off for 24h and it works for me..

There is actual science behind this. The BLOD is usually caused by a faulty APU and one of the small ball connections on the chip coming loose. By standing on the console and putting pressure on it, you're forcing the APU down onto the motherboard and reconnecting these loose points, hence why it's only a temp fix. To make it more permanent, what I usually do is put small nuts or washers in the clamp that goes on top of the APU and tighten them up to give more pressure downwards. This usually fixes the console for a decent amount of time.

YOOOOOO! I can’t can’t believe this f***ing worked! My friend and I just spent 20 minutes changing cables and pressing buttons. I found a video explaining that the problem is a chip inside the PS4 that doesn’t have enough pressure for conduction. A possible fix is to add 2-3 washers to the screws on a piece inside to add pressure on top of the chip. So I added some biological pressure instead (because we don’t have any at home and it’s almost 10PM for shopping), gently applying pressure with my foot and this thing turned on! Of course, this trick comes with the risk of permanently damaging something inside, so testers beware! I’m now speechless and blow away🙌🏼

I have an explanation why this actually works, but can be extremely dangerous aswell. When you press on the PS4 plastic shroud on that side, you will also press down the cooler on to the processor which will lead to reconnection of the CPU with the board. This happens when the PS4 has overheated to much, sadly it might just be a temporary fix, if you get lucky it will hold on. But if you put pressure on to the CPU, it might break the silicon chip which will render the CPU completely useless and the PS4 won't work without replacing it with soldering expert skills.

that could damage other parts inside of your ps4 if there is a blue light of death then it‘a your hard drive loose, your hdmi port, or you have to hold your on/off button for about 10 seconds until you hear 2 beeps then go to change resolution and then you go to automatic and if that doesn’t work it is one of the other problems. its because there could be the odd solder point under the APU chip which has contact problems your pressing the chip down again but overtime especially after things have cooled down it can slowly create that contact problem again. I just unplugged and plugged in again. Worked. Don't go stepping unless you're ready to permanently damage your PS4. My advice is might be worth a try if nothing else seems to be working and you're ready to buy a new one anyway, but otherwise, don't go stepping on it.

I tightened those screws, I guess the connections separated over the years because of the heat and such, once I screwed them tighter the PlayStation has not been cutting off since. The reason it works is because you put more pressure on the apu and it only works if your 100Lb or more if your under that ask someone to do it for you that has that weight (Edit if your under 100 and if your strong enoght to pick up extra weight to make you heavier it might work)
My problem : Blue light of death - Even recovery mode was not showing and PS4 used to turn off only. How i resolved that : 1. I followed a Tutorial to remove all screws and get to the mother board. 2. I tool a fork and put back on the CPU chip all the thermo paste that was surrouding the chip. 3. I used my Dyson to clean the dust everywhere each time i could. 4. Once built back (even with 5 screws left - LOL) i plug the cable and press the power button to see it working all great.
I tried doing this on my ps4 pro and it didnt do anything. It pisses me off that I cant open it and I cant buy a new one due to the pandemic. It's the best worst time for it fo happen since no one can leave the house. Lucky me

That's clearly a BGA problem depending on thermal conditions. You should get it reballed.

@@vinphim I did it right after I asked. I saw another video where someone spoke on the thermal patch mentioned above and showed it. I tightened those screws, I guess the connections separated over the years because of the heat and such, once I screwed them tighter the PlayStation has not been cutting off since. This comment here by Mr Green saved my life almost... This comment should be pinned!!! I for one am grateful. All these videos about standing on the PlayStation, sending it to Sony, tossing the PlayStation cause it's done... All a bs, this is a fixable problem, thank you Mr. Blue. My anxiety came all the way down after j followed your instructions 🙏🏾

The reason it works is because you put more pressure on the apu and it only works if your 100Lb or more if your under that ask someone to do it for you that has that weight (Edit if your under 100 and if your strong enoght to pick up extra weight to make you heavier it might work)

My problem :
Blue light of death - Even recovery mode was not showing and PS4 used to turn off only.
How i resolved that :
1. I followed a Tutorial to remove all screws and get to the mother board.
2. I tool a fork and put back on the CPU chip all the thermo paste that was surrouding the chip.
3. I used my Dyson to clean the dust everywhere each time i could.
4. Once built back (even with 5 screws left - LOL) i plug the cable and press the power button to see it working all great.

I tried doing this on my ps4 pro and it didnt do anything. It pisses me off that I cant open it and I cant buy a new one due to the pandemic. It's the best worst time for it fo happen since no one can leave the house. Lucky me
