I've had this orchid for years and really wanted to make a terrarium for it. I'm not sure why it took so long to make it happen, but I gave you an easter egg a few weeks back about it. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video. Stay tuned for next week and I hope you all have a great day!
Hey tanner, I’ve recently be made aware of yet another animal cruelty channel, “Prince’s pet predators” except this time they’re feeding live healthy leopard geckos and cresties to pixie frogs, if you could aid in the takedown of this channel then that would be amazing
Sometimes it's the smaller builds that make you appreciate the hobby more, the more complicated setups are great but getting the basics down and putting a personal touch on it is what it's all about. Love the video man. Almost to a Million
you don't want to necessarily do that, some of the 'organisms' maybe hostile and contaminate other indoor plants. forest surface material may be risky.
I live in the pine barrens and work outside every day running camp activities, so it was nice to see my regular environment so beautifully replicated by you. I feel like you refreshed my appreciation for this kind of biome.
Even though this video was posted 2 years prior to me watching it, this build fascinated me. You see, I live in Western Washington at the base of the Cascade Range. Evergreen forests are all around and that’s where we go for our recreational activities. In fact, I have lightly foraged my own ferns, mosses, rocks, and twigs from the immense forests I have right around me. I agree that to replicate a forest floor, decaying leaves, pine cones, and dead needles are a must. Once the aroma takes hold, you’ll just want to grab a backpack and go for a hike!
I am being completely sincere when I say this: I would love to watch videos of you going on hikes and pointing out things you think look cool while you do so
This project is my favorite. A pine forest is one of the best places on earth, and you got that feel and look just right. Perfect! You are so talented!
I think this video does a really good job of illustrating just how easy it is to be inspired by nature! You don’t have to go to some tropical rainforest somewhere in order to get ideas for a naturalistic terrarium. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite things to do is build a terrarium directly inspired by the Adirondacks up in New York, or by the woods surrounding me here in New Jersey. I go on hikes, take photos while I’m out, and then organize them into folders that correspond to specific projects. To any beginner terrarium-makers who feel uninspired or overwhelmed: Start off by taking inspiration from places near you. Tanner hikes the woods of Pennsylvania, I do the same in New Jersey. Collect plants from your local area (unless that’s a crime, of course), and pick out tropical plants that resemble things you’d see outside in your area (if you live in South America, lucky you). Pay attention to the “hardscape” of the area you’re in. What does the soil look like? What kinds of wood are the logs in your woods? What do your local rock formations look like? What is the lead litter on the ground made up of? It all comes down to observing the world around you, and using its beauty to inform your projects.
I live in Scotland, we have lots of Scots pine forests and it's something I'm very grateful to have on my doorstep. I can cycle 10 minutes any direction and be amongst the trees and breathing in that amazing air. It's even better on wet days, smells phenomenal, but you gotta watch out for the bogs and hidden swampy parts lol 😆 It adds to the fun but you'll be in up to your thighs in mud if you're not careful. Oh we also have really squishy, very thick moss gardens(? Big patches of ground covered by moss) and when you walk on them after it's been heavily raining you can feel the water underneath, it makes me think of how cool nature is, how weird it is, how it all works in harmony.. I think the environment itself helps one think in a sense of peace and harmony due to its natural state of peace and harmony ... if that makes any sense. I rambled a bit but its because you mentioned pine forests, and that ethereal place is all I know! Have you ever visited Scotland before, Tanner? I think you'd like it a lot 😁 Anyway, keep up the great content man, you're very skilled at your craft, and a charm to watch on screen and truly be inspired by 😇💚 thank you for all that you do!
You do your work , from your heart.. that can be seen while watching your videos.... Watching your video is always refreshing experience. Lots of love and peace
I would love to see an entire room covered with terrarium walls, skylights, and floors made from stones, resin and lighting to mimic the movement of water. Imagine having a forest inside your house...
I am truly glad I found your channel. I love hiking and camping but health issues limit the amount of time I can spend doing this. Something like this is great. I can spend a little time outdoors and then "bring it home with me" so to speak. Great stuff!
I love seeing more of a northern terrarium, rather than a tropical one. I live in Ontario and the only forests I've seen are mixed, with lots of pines, so I feel like a little piece of my surroundings made its way into this terrarium.
One of your best!! Absolutely in love with the look/theme. Have many childhood memories of my dad's home having pine trees in the back garden, and helping him plant various things in the railway sleeper-contained garden beds nearby. I think this may well be the theme of my first terrarium when I get to it!
Your videos give me the energy to get up and try. I really appreciate the beautiful content you make. Some days it’s what I need to stay alive. Thanks man. I hope your project prosper forever
Wow, I think this is one of your best terrariums yet! It makes me so happy to see you recreate a scene from nature that I am familiar with. This looks exactly like the woods near my university where I go out to do field work, we have a lot of beautiful rattlesnake plantain orchids. Your care for nature & encouragement of not disturbing the ecosystem and buying from nurseries is fantastic.
You couldn't design a better top for that terrarium! Amazing how you can take things we step over every day and make a beautiful terrarium show piece! Very Inspiring thank you.
I love this one! I don't often see many terrariums focused around North American landscape, it would be cool to see more regional builds like this one!
Hey, this is off topic but I recently dismantled an aquarium and cut glass for the first time using all the techniques you have taught in your videos! Thanks for being a source of information and inspiration! Appreciate you!!!!
This is, so far, one of my favorite terrarium you have ever created. Fern and jewel orchid are my favorite element to be in the closed terrarium like this.and i think that the sleek design of the glass container elevates look
if you like finches building a naturalistic aviary with live plants would be cool to see!! I always wondered if a bioactive aviary would break down the poop
Yes it will. In fact I have been thinking of building something like this on a large scale for my birds. I have an old camper that I could use to make an bioactive aviary for them. They are different types of parrots though not finches. I know some people that have done something similar.
I like how the closeups make me feel like a tiny person in that forest. Would love to see other biomes/remaking old terrariums like the desert terrarium.
Love this one. The simplicity really works and it feels very authentic to a pine forest. And I got a new plant to look out for. Maybe I'll see an orchid out in the woods one day
Always love the ones where you showcase a certain specific plant and my fav flora has always been the jewel orchid varieties! I hope to see more of these types of terrariums :3
Thanks Tanner❤️ I’ve been busy with fish/aquarium projects and needed this! Time to get out and gather supplies for terrariums through the winter! I can’t imagine not surrounding myself inside with nature in the winter! I have to stay happy in the winter, and that’s what does it for me!❤️ ~Peace ✌️
very beautiful... i'm always learning from him day by day. The conditions he creates are very difficult for me., but I always try every day because of my pasion🙏🙏🙏👏👏
the pine forest ground plants are thin stemmed with broad light leaves. Makes it look like the leaves are floating in mid-air. very fantasy theme look.
I have loved so much to see the evolution of your craft throughout the years - it is incredibly wonderful and inspirational to see the beautiful scapes that you create :) I am so privileged to be a part of the Serpa community and am ecstatic to see the many new builds in years to come. Thank you so much for sharing what you do! It is much appreciated! Much love to you Tanner!
You never cease to amaze Tanner! You have inspired me to build bio-active for all my reptiles and they/I couldn't be happier! Thanks for another amazing video!
I have severe ADD and it’s hard to focus on anything unless it really catches my interest. Needless to say I’m hooked on your videos and plan to build my first terrarium very soon! Thank you for making these videos 🙏🏽

Wow! This terrarium is defiantly one of my favorites you’ve made so far! Great job!

Tanner! You owe me some merch!
Maybe some centipedes would be cool in this
Can you try one where you just take the soil from the forest (an all organisms with it). Should make an interesting terrarium!
He did do a naturally scavenged terrarium a couple years ago, but I wouldnt complain if we got a round 2! Nice suggestion :D
That’s how I make all my terrariums I just go into the bush make it with the native Aussie plants and mosses
@@declan7164 jep me too!
you don't want to necessarily do that, some of the 'organisms' maybe hostile and contaminate other indoor plants. forest surface material may be risky.
@@MrBonners Generally when you make enclosures like that, it should not house domesticated critters. But a valid point to bring up nonetheless
I live in the pine barrens and work outside every day running camp activities, so it was nice to see my regular environment so beautifully replicated by you. I feel like you refreshed my appreciation for this kind of biome.
I have 33 acres of old growth eastern hemlock and the rattlesnake plantain are everywhere along with ferns and moss. I love it!
Love the new production quality on newer videos
As a person who lives in a colder climate, it was fun to look at you create something a bit more forest-y rather than moist and tropical jungle :)
Even though this video was posted 2 years prior to me watching it, this build fascinated me. You see, I live in Western Washington at the base of the Cascade Range. I would love videos of you just walking around outside talking quietly about the biome. So calming and like a breath of fresh air.
Beautiful. I'm going to start my first terrarium after having watched you for a long time. Thank you for inspiring and educating!
😊 me 2. Thought yesterday about a video I watched maybe a year ago, and will start soon with all I collected 😋😁
Have fun and a nice Weekend 🌿🍁🍃
Amazing!!! I don’t think there’s a single thing you’ve done that I haven’t loved!!
This is exactly the type of terrarium that got me interested in them when I was little.
Nature gives us the greatest inspiration. Just beautiful. 🥰
Очень красиво, как и все Ваши работы!!!! Кусочек леса на столе.
Beautiful! It looks like you scooped out a bit of pine forest and dropped it into the container

This is one of my favourite terrariums you've built
I’m always blown away by the end result. It’s like you went out and just cut it from nature.
Loving the new filming set up, dude. Gorgeous.
content like this gives me so much serotonin, i cannot get enough of this channel
The quality and dedication of these videos are amazing!
This would make a beautiful holiday centerpiece
It looks like a small slice of The Virginia woods. I miss home. This is a great reminder.
You have the patience of a saint. I would have been so frustrated trying to get everything perfect with such a small opening to work through.
I am truly glad I found your channel. I love hiking and camping but health issues limit the amount of time I can spend doing this. Something like this is great. I can spend a little time outdoors and then "bring it home with me" so to speak. Great stuff!
Absolutely beautiful, a little piece of woodland . All you need is a 🐿🍁

This had a real Blue Peter vibe about it, really enjoyed it
I really enjoyed the way you started the video by looking for inspiration in a forest!
Nature in a bottle. Great lil terrarium!
I love your 350 jungle build so much but your ability to add so much detail at such a small scale is incredible! Love this build, as always haha!
Your videos give me the energy to get up and try. I really appreciate the beautiful content you make. Some days it’s what I need to stay alive. Thanks man. I hope your project prosper forever
This is one of my favorites that you've done. I'm from south Georgia and grew up in the woods. This reminds me of home!
I'm in South Carolina so same. I live in a pine forest basically.
Pine forests are my favorite type of forest, I agree with you! They seem so otherworldly, I always expect to find fairies or something, lol.
Wow, I think this is one of your best terrariums yet! It makes me so happy to see you recreate a scene from nature that I am familiar with. Always such wholesome content
I love these kind of videos. back to the roots!!
wonderful lil piece of natural grace!
I love this forest in a jar. LOVE it!!!

I absolutely love this one. The mixture and contrasts of textures, hard and soft, green and browns, are gorgeous
Enjoyed the biome inspiration walkthrough at the beginning

so therapeutic, i watch these before bed.
It sounds simple, but it's really hard to put together different materials to create a work of art
that was perfect👍👍👍😍😍

I've seen a bioactive aviary for button quail so it's possible.
AVIARY! I always thought cramped bird cages were so sad but I bet Serpa could make one that little birdies love!
Adding another vote for this one - would loooove to see it!
So beautiful. Love
Beautiful! Absolutely Beautiful! I love your videos and this one especially caught my eye. Thanks Tanner for such a great inspiration.
Your videos are awesome. I feel a lot of peace when I watch them. I hope to make something like what you make one day.
I like how the closeups make me feel like a tiny person in that forest. Would love to see other biomes/remaking old terrariums like the desert terrarium.
Wow!
This is easily my favorite terrarium you have made. I know it’s more simple, but I think it’s scraped just beautifully!
One of my favorites you've done!
This really hits to home for me. I live in the Pacific Northwest, lots of coniferous forests. It's the kind of forest where I truly feel at home to
I love this build but then I also do love terrestrial orchids.
You are so close to reaching 1 million subscribes! You can to it!
I LOVE this, and simple enough that I could give it a go.
Love this one. The simplicity really works and it feels very authentic to a pine forest. And I got a new plant to look out for. Maybe I'll see an orchid out in the woods one day

It looks like a jewel ochid! wonderful
I really love this one - you captured that lovely pine forest feel really well.
Your best video to date! Production and Content was top-notch! 🌱
that looks great🌲🍁

Oh, i like this one very much. Everything looks amazing! A piece of a forest inside a jar. Thanks for sharing.
Wow great job looks so natural !! Love it!!
perfect 😊, i love orchids, I might do this one day. nice job👍
Love your videos, Thank you :)
Love this video, my back yard looks just like this with all the same ferns and trees. It's so cool to see something so similar on TH-cam!
very beautiful... i'm always learning from him day by day. The conditions he creates are very difficult for me., but I always try every day because of my pasion🙏🙏🙏👏👏
These are such great videos they can lighten up my day i need more
Pine forests smell different. I love them.

Gorgeous! Your Saturday afternoon videos really make my weekend. 💚
Realy cool and inspiering Video!👍 I love the look of those pine Nedles.
You inspire me every time! I'm planning to recreate this project on my own! thank you for all the tips and positive vibe!
All your builds are so cool
Looks beautiful
Gotta have an update on this at some point! So awesome. Feeling inspired to make one myself
Just made a terrarium from materials found in a Polish forest. Looks like your forest with a ton more moss. Thanks, enjoy your channel.
That's my backyard in a jar! I use the ferns in the terrariums I create. Love the rattlesnake plantain. I've never seen that before.
Awesome. A fairytail world within a bottle. Will try it too. Greetings from bavaria-munich and take care
This is so beautiful!
Fantastic.....you are so talented 😊 You teach in a way that makes me think I can do it too!
Excellent!! You always do very good work.
You never cease to amaze Tanner! You have inspired me to build bio-active for all my reptiles and they/I couldn't be happier!

Cool different scene you've made, nice one!
So beautiful!
I love this one a lot!!🌲🍂 We live on an old apple orchard turned pine forest. You're giving me inspiration.
I have a total crush on this man
