I can't say I like this either but should mention that Marcus was Marcus Garvey, a Jamaican activist who advocated for everyone in the West whose forebears were displaced due to the African Slave Trade to 'repatriate' voluntarily. To this end, he travelled to America where he controversially forged links with the Ku Klux Klan. He was briefly imprisoned in America in the 1920s and subsequently deported. He moved to London in 1935 where he died in 1940. Garvey is one of seven National Heroes of Jamaica and the subject of many songs in the 1970s.
