    Man the Bjj world straight sucks now. Everyone just gets a test prescription when they walk through the door. Hey I'm really tired from training........well gee maybe you should get on test!!!! More and more people are gonna feel tired now in the bjj community because more and more of their training partners are on on Test. Lame.

    I'm 65.. brown belt. 11 years on the mats. My T was found to be 190 back in 2018. Injectable TRT has been a game changer. Never got off the mats but struggled until I got the diagnosis.

    Wow, great story man. Kids can be creative with how they bully people. I appreciate your honesty. Maybe I missed it but how old are you? I'm 27 so I'll get it checked in the near future.

    Hope things are better now. I know this is stating the obvious but did you catch covid around that time? Nearly every symptom you listed I had during acute covid. I ended up developing what's now known as Long Covid. I'm 3 years out from that and still dealing with small fiber neuropathy and other symptoms but as of about 9 months ago I'm back on the mat.

    Hey bro!
    Low T is no joke. Glad you got checked out.
    Do you know if the dr checked your prolactin levels?
    I had low T from the age of 19. My dr checked my prolactin levels and it came back super high. He ordered an MRI with contrast and turned out I had a prolactinoma in my pituitary gland. The excess prolactin was suppressing my testosterone production and was in the low 200s for T. I had surgery to remove the tumor and my T is naturally coming back to normal levels. I know from first hand that pinning weekly sucks!
    For young guys, there tends to be a more serious underlying root cause for low T.
    Have your doc run prolactin tests, most men’s clinic docs don’t.

    oss bro. thanks for sharing your journey. have you had thyroid tests done? TSH T3 T4? sounds very similar to hoshimotos and low thyroid as well

    • @DavidvsGoliathBJJ
      @DavidvsGoliathBJJ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw rheumatologist and they did a bunch of bloodwork and it came back normal. Not sure if they tested thyroid though. Is that usually through bloodwork also?

    • @the_bob_wong
      @the_bob_wong 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DavidvsGoliathBJJ Yes. normal blood panels should include TSH (thyroid function) T3 T4. Rheumatologists usually look for ESR and CRP (inflammation levels) We see alot of both in clinic as well the way you describe the symptoms sounds very similar. have you had bloods done recently in last 6 months?

  • @slipperywhenwat

    I have a lot of sympathy for those who have thyroid or medical issues that effect these levels but I’m very confused about why the average man’s testosterone is so low. It seems this is a pretty common problem that didn’t exist in the past. I remember reading that the average sperm count has been cut in half from 50 years ago. I’m wondering if the same factors such as sedentary lifestyle, processed foods, lack of sunlight and vitamin D are why these levels are low? Or, is it just that this has always been the way it is and we are just now able to do testing on it?

    • @DavidvsGoliathBJJ
      @DavidvsGoliathBJJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      From doing some research what I found to be common reasons across multiple articles were high stress levels, lack of rest, cell phones in our front pocket too close to your balls, and drinking bottled water. But who knows!? It’s more common than I thought as well.

    You are very young to be utilizing TRT as a long term strategy. Your body surely responds to "exogenous" TRT, and maybe not always in ways you intend, for the long term. Instead, are you really sure that your low levels aren't susceptible to "lifestyle" changes. Young families, your job and your social life really are a "stress" (however rewarding) in ways that you may not fully appreciate. Of course you can't really change your situation in those respects. However one thing you might pay serious attention to is not just "relaxing" but actually developing a good "sleep hygiene" regime. "Sleep" is a "game changer" for guys in your situation. Read or listen to Matthew Walker on this subject, and in particular how "sleep" profoundly effects TRT. Check it out. Good luck with your busy life!

    I work with tons of athletes on TRT. What are your SHBG level and free test levels? Are you managing estrogen (the end product of testosterone metabolism)? What is your IGF-1 level? Hopefully you are getting a full panel of tests. Unfortunately, very, very few MD's know what they are doing (I am a PhD). I usually send my guys to Dr Larry Lipschultz, in Houston. If you are having trouble getting things sorted out, it may be worth your while to see him.

I've always did everything naturally for the last 2 years, diets, supplements, meditation, etc. I am starting HCG this week and if we don't see improvement in 60 days, I'll also do TRT.
