this is fun and all, and i love martial arts. but i came to this video to see possible things i should avoid in my upcoming street fight(anything non-lethal goes) style fight, against a guy half my size who knows BJJ, and the only thing i came out with was basically, "ok, so i dont have to be worried at all, because BJJ only works if you follow the rules of BJJ or dont have any instinct." is there any reason that ISNT true? because in my brain, the first 19 seconds, the whole grabbing the collar thing, has NO groundings outside of BJJ, i aint gonna be going to grab him, at least not by the collar, and if he grabs my arm like that, i aint trying to grab his collar still, im grabbing his arm and moving behind him, getting him into a joint lock of some kind. is there anybody willing to explain why what im saying isnt true?

Hope things are better now. I know this is stating the obvious but did you catch covid around that time? Nearly every symptom you listed I had during acute covid. I ended up developing what's now known as Long Covid. I'm 3 years out from that and still dealing with small fiber neuropathy and other symptoms but as of about 9 months ago I'm back on the mat.

Nice - do you have a video about countering sandbagging? When an opponent is active, we use techniques similar to yours. But when he gets really inactive and get great pressure from side control with body distribution, etc - I sometimes get submitted just from this after a minute or two!

Ok - no problem with technique or skill but we start this tutorial process with a scenario that only applies to rolling in training. What purpose does the sitting technique serve in some type of competition scenario whether sportive or more serious as far as attack potential goes ?

Self defense is important to learn before anything else. Teach the students about the outside scenarios instead of the competition scenarios. Then later on you can teach skill vs skill, competition or competitor scenario. Other than that this was very good to watch realistic training scenarios 👍👍👏👏.
