Glad you enjoyed the trail. I spent a lot of time with fellow volunteers from the Hope Mountain Centre working on the trails. Many great memories of the weekend work trips.
Sure, rub it in, rub it in...to us Ontarians (and rest of the world probably). Another superb trail from super natural BC! Kudos to those who have had the initiative to restore and enhance it! 👏👏👏
Hey Jeff. Well done. We were the 3 peeps there two weeks before you as mentioned at the logbook. Just wanted to mention that you unfortunately missed the best scenery by far at the Conglomerate (nicest) Camp just to the left of the junction where you turn right to Palmers Pond. We spent a glorious night under the stars there. You definitely need to make a return trip someday to enjoy it in it's splendor sometime even if only for a night there. Also can climb Davis Peak and another slightly lower peak right there from camp to make it more interesting and for the fantastic 360 above. We never saw a soul our entire trip as well. Except for a few curious free range cows along the Whipsaw Road that were entertaining. Take care.
Cool! I discovered today that my style in trail running is called Fastpacking. lolololol. Hike the hills, jog the flats and run the downs. Great video!
I just backpacked the trail in 5 days. There was another couple that were fastpacking over 2 days when we started in Hope. I couldn't imagine running the trail, but then again my pack weighed over 45 lbs :)
I’ve just discovered you with the Nambib race. Even though I’m not a runner or do extreme sports, I find it very good company while stuck on my rowing machine indoors in our Alaskan winter. I like your style and really enjoy the music you pick out. It looks like you’ve put a lot of time and effort into your editions. Thanks!
Took some time to catch up with your films this morning Jeff, your doing great! Every time I watch any of your films I just get so excited to go for a run hahaha. I'm very keen to see how you did in Namibia man, please don't tell me though, I want to be surprised!
Another amazingly beautiful trail! Love the history you give so interesting. The filming makes you feel you are running with you! Inspiring thanks Jeff🙌🙌😃🇬🇧 Ps. Glad we have only bulls in fields to worry about over here and not bears!🤣🤣
Hope we're not too late to comment on this but, wow, thank you for the beautiful narration and for sharing the rich history of this trail, Jeff! ❤ Only wished we were there to fully immerse ourselves and be one with nature's beauty!
This was a great film! You did a phenomenal job sharing your journey and story, capturing the majesty of that area/trail, and gave me many smiles as I watched. Thank you for sharing this!
Quite a bit shorter (~15-20km with some additional unmarked side trails if you want to go farther) but if you're looking for another underused trail in the interior, check out the Hornaday Pass Trail between Elk Valley Hwy and Bull River FSR. I dragged a bike through it in 2018 and would love to return without a bike! The trail was named after William Hornaday who spent a month there in 1905 (and wrote about in in a book called Campfires in the Canadian Rockies, which can be found online for free). Beautiful views, natural springs, interesting history.
Excellent video buddy... you got the same weather as me each of the 3 times I've done the trail. Let's go back for an adventure next year... "perfect weather dependent". Haha. BTW, the 50 mile race adds 3k at the start... which is from the firehall in Tulameen. Cheers
Ah that makes sense that they’d start right in town for the race. You’re the one who gave me the idea for this route, so sorry we didn’t manage to get together on it! Let’s do something together soon.
Thank you for another beautiful video from B.C. I'm looking forward to exploring much more of B.C. next summer and appreciate the inspiring videos. Can I ask where you get your music from that you use in your videos? It really sets the mode well. Thanks!
@@JeffPelletier Thanks Jeff. Appreciate you sharing. Your trail adventures are amazing. I love the Sierra's, but you definitely have me wanting to exploring more of BC and Alberta!
The trail wasn't built by the HBT. They learned about it from Stuwix people (indigenous) who used it before HBT to travel across the Cascades to trade with other indigenous on the coastal side, and to get chert from the Cascades for arrowheads, etc.
Wonderful! I am hiking this trail later this year! Thankyou for the wonderful intro to it and a look at the campsites! Quick question, was there any bad surfaces for dog pads? Dog feet? It looked mostly dirt and forest from your video but I’m planning on taking my two Aussie Shepard’s with their packs too and worry about sharp/bad trail for their feet..should I bring their boots? Thank-you so much and it was a very awesome video! ( second time watching it now lol! )
Nice video, Jeff. You definitely have your own style among the run vloggers. I see you didn't bother with the X2 for this one. I guess weight is always at a premium when fastpacking. I like to keep my pack around 5Kg. What was yours?
Jeff! Amazing, inspiring and beautifully shot, as always. I loved it! A history lesson as well. The trail looked fantastic. I really hope I can make it to Canada one day to sample some of the running and hiking in the backcountry! Happy New Year to you (and Audree!) and looking forward to your Namibia video.

Thanks so much! You’re of course welcome to visit BC anytime 😉
@@JeffPelletier I might just have to now 😉
Do what we did..moved to Bc…🙂(from Ontario)
I can imagine that it’s another great memory 🤗 thanks for sharing!

Love the food cache. Very different than the old cable to raise your bag in the air. Very nice

Beautiful forest footage around 24:00. Good to learn about this trail.

Love your films Jeff and am kind of jealous of the awesome mountains you have there. Greetings from Belgium!
Beautiful! You go on the coolest adventures!!
I loved the history lesson.
Nature sure can be elusive with the views but that's half the fun.
Another beautifull video Jeff, thanks ! And musics fit perfectly 👌. Cheers from France 🇫🇷
amazing, single trail paradise!
Another amazingly beautiful trail!
Love the history you give so interesting. The filming makes you feel you are running with you!
Inspiring thanks Jeff🙌🙌😃🇬🇧
Ps. Glad we have only bulls in fields to worry about over here and not bears!🤣🤣
Another amazing video Jeff you are true inspiration to trail running.
And love the new ways of keeping feet dry with zip lock begs 😂
Another amazing travel edition. Enthusiastic to watch your collective nature wander 😍✌👌
Another great Video Jeff of what looked like a great little run adventure. Thankyou 👍

@@JeffPelletier Thanks Jeff. Appreciate you sharing. Your trail adventures are amazing. I love the Sierra's, but you definitely have me wanting to exploring more of BC and Alberta!
It's a nice hike, did it in a day, but also wasn't filming so it didn't slow me down.
The trail wasn't built by the HBT. They learned about it from Stuwix people (indigenous) who used it before HBT to travel across the Cascades to trade with other indigenous on the coastal side, and to get chert from the Cascades for arrowheads, etc.
It took me eight days but I could have done it in seven. I went west to east. I can't even remotely imagine doing it in two days.
Wonderful! I am hiking this trail later this year! Thankyou for the wonderful intro to it and a look at the campsites! Quick question, was there any bad surfaces for dog pads? Dog feet? Thanks! It was mostly dirt, but there was a bit of rockier terrain from time to time. I don’t think it would be a problem though. Enjoy!

13:44, "There's a ton of blow down here..."
Where exactly?
I can’t remember that exact location, but it’s likely since been cleared.
@@JeffPelletier God love ya, thanks for the reply. I biked across Canada almost 30 years ago. No blow!?
24:39 What is that??? I’ve been zoomed in on my phone for 10 min and can’t figure it out!
Heh, I probably should have provided context. We think it was the jaw bone from a large mule deer.
@@JeffPelletier thank you!
I understand it was probably difficult to film but is there a Namibia video in the works? If not I totally understand
Yes, a series of videos in fact. I’ve been hard at work on them and should have them ready first thing in the new year.
@@JeffPelletier can’t wait! Amazing that you filmed during the gruelling distance and heat of the desert
Did you see the bear behind them!
Hope B.C here Sylvester Stallone filmed "First Blood" "Nothing is over....you just don't turn it off!" ~cheers!!!
That’s true! I rematched it recently, so recognizable.
Where is Audrée... Missing her wisdom quotes and chirpiness.. 😄
I would not have thought that was grizzly territory… 😬
Apparently there are a few known to be in the surrounding area, but that’s a pretty big area.
Jeff! Amazing, inspiring and beautifully shot, as always. I loved it! A history lesson as well. The trail looked fantastic.
