In OMG’s mv, that flashback scene in the bathtub was CRAZY to me. Cuz that would mean they have planned all this out since very beginning. Mindblowing

My theory was that Ditto and OMG are connected. I think that both focus on the opposite spectrums of a parasocial relationship. In Ditto Heesoo (the girl filming) sees NewJeans as her friends, but that’s not reality. As the MV goes on she realizes that she can’t keep holding on to a relationship that doesn’t exist. She gets in touch with reality by making real life relationships. This is conveyed with the boy. At the end of Ditto Part B, Heesso is older and is reminiscing about how she used to love NewJeans. It’s NewJeans telling us our music will always be there, but live your life because those type of moments you don’t want to miss. In OMG the parasocial relationship is through NewJeans’s perspective. All the things us fans or Bunnies roles we gave them manifests into reality in them. It showcases how fans can impact the idols. This kind of jump from reality is shown with them being in the psych ward. For example, Minji is kind one the mom role in the group and she’s become so in to her role she thinks she’s a doctor helping the girls out when really she’s a patient like the rest of them. Another example is Haerin. Bunnies have said she has cat like characteristics and now she thinks she’s a literal cat because of her feeling like that’s the role she’s stuck in. Hope this makes sense!!
A lot of Newjeans dances have a lot of cute and funny interactions with eachother! Which makes it more nicer to see nowdays! Also loved your reaction!!!
NewJeans are unique group. Their concept is different from other groups, it's best. They put listeners at ease. They are very energetic in their stage performances. They have fun on stage and spread joy around. I think NewJeans will reach better places. LET'S SUPPORT THEM!✨
I think the only difference between NJ and other groups, is that NJ make the type of music that other GG wouldn't make regularly. I mean it as in, twice will have one or two songs like this in every album, but with NJ it's consistent.
Also, NJ don't have a favourite member. Obviously, there is Hyejin, but they never single her out in glamorous clothing while everyone else looks like crap like other companies do. For example, Wonyoung in the white dress and everyone else in black.
The difference between 3rd and 4th Generation only felt like a matter of debut date until New Jeans came along and make a huge leap ahead.
I love the detail in OMG where she 'is' the iPhone and is dressed like Steve Jobs (who would be only an historical figure to them)😆

Heesoo represents their fandom (‘tokki’ which is bunnies in korean) Her full name is ban heesoo which is supposed to sound like bunnies!

I feel like the whole music video is set in a psychiatric clinic as a representation of their artists. They do unique things which many will try to tear down and tell them they are crazy. I.e forcing them into a mental & musical prison yet the same people that criticse are also patients also in need of treatment which they bring.
They are NEW Jeans, they have a new sound, new concept and really did shift the year (flashbacks)

I think it represents how kpop idols are losing themselves in the process because of their fans trying to "label" them into something they are not.

oof the Ditto MV was a rollercoaster lol. Very eerie and unsettling. OMG was something else too~ I like this direction their going in. Lots of theories about the girls being a hallucination and coping with the mental health from the loss of important people in your life like Ditto, and OMG literally in a psych ward? The girls portraying and obsessing over something they're not? Cmon! I think this could be a very smart move for ADOR to move them in a 'pro-mental health awareness" direction. They donated the sales from their album to the hearing impaired as well, and now recently to the tragedy in Turkey and Syria. It's building a good image for them and showing them how humanitarian and charitable they can be at such young ages. You should check out their reactions to the MV on your own time, it was very very sweet. As well as the recording behind the scenes of Ditto and OMG, spot the difference. Wrong. There is none, I'm blown away, and high recommended! I don't want to get into theories because we'd be here all day, lol, but thank you for the reaction!!!

danielle is the one who were saying about her visual’s always catching your eye, she’s the middle child of the group. Hanni is the one who was wearing the cropped sweater in the dance practice who you said was solid, she’s the second oldest member. both of them are aussie.

Haerin : thinks that she is a cat
Hanni : thinks that she is an Iphone
Danielle : thinks that she is a member of kpop group and all the hospital is just MV set
minji : thinks that she is a doctor in the hospital but in reality she is a patient

Yes, there are 4 story videos for Hype Boy. The one with Danielle and Haerin is the only one about two members (because of the storyline). All four MVs have some shared scenes. It's definitely worth watching all four!
I haven’t heard anyone say this theory but in the OMG mv Hyein is representing an idol in a relationship. The bear is a representation of fans that “kill” the relationship between idols. In the mv Hyein and Danielle can’t be together because of the bear and Hyein feels betrayed when she looks at the stuffed bear.

i feel like a lot of newjeans songs have this through-line of commenting on the idol/fan relationship, FROM the FAN perspective. attention - the fans are trying to get their attention because this idol they look at so often is giving them feelings they've not experienced in real life. hype boy - the "chemical hype boy" isn't real. he's just some guy that has flaws like everybody else but you're so obsessed with him you can't accept that he's not who you thought he was (this happens a lot in fandom spaces when idols go through scandals, or are called out for problematic things but their fans can't accept that anything's wrong). they'll hype him up no matter what. ditto - the fan just wants so desperately to be acknowledged, and that can be seen in the music video obviously, with heesoo only interacting with newjeans through the screen, but truly believing that they're her friends. and then of course omg, which comments on the idol experience in the beginning, but within the lyrics: "you're only one call away, you show up without hesitation, is this even real?" seems to insinuate that the fans don't realise that the parasocial relationship the idol/COMPANY has built isn't all that real. idk man, i'm really excited to see where they take this theme and how they expand on it.

@@Yetti.the other three story MVs for Hype Boy are well worth watching. I'd also highly recommend all the dance practice videos on their channel for the awards shows they performed at. They did alternate choreos for remixes of their songs and the camerawork is way better than in the videos of the actual shows. WAY better.

in the mv, they are all mental patients and they all have gone crazy so minju who looks like the nurse, THINKS that she's a real nurse but she's not so she is trying to help the others, actually she is just a patient. haerin who thinks she's a real cat.. there's really nothing to it lol. and Hanni who is crazy and thinks that she is an iPhone. hyein thinks she is a real princess and Danielle thinks she is a real K-pop star and in a K-pop group, the mv is a hospital set.
Cookies will definitely mean something else depending on what country youre from, but i had this friend who is in korea for about 8yrs now and he told me that it is true that cookie/cookies really means CD/discs in there. It is the term they use for CDs, when they burn/record CDs they call it baking. But we know we dont share the same culture and ideas since we live from different parts of the world so we cannot really blame others who think of a double meaning to it 😊
The song was originally written in English then translated into Korean. So it’s very very likely that the meaning of the song is intended to be as sexual as it sound and it’s honestly disgusting.

So With all of these songs and the concept in mind, the Cookie lyrics and video fits better within it, as a "desire" song, not a sexual lyric or tone but _Desire_ as in, we as the audience will be adicted to dem as we are with sugar and cookies, its not their fould if we get our teeth hurt, come take a look at our sound. This makes more sense cuz in the opening the cookie passes rolling behind them and then in the end the cookie is now their CD implying that this cookie was mean to me an allegory for their music and album. As the whole concept they are having is the fandom being interwined with the idol... Ditto being the representation fo how the fans can get their life upside down living trough them as if to say "live your own lives as well". So that ties with the whole "cookie" song being about being consumed by desire and addiction to them as idols

I am a fan of the songs however the group is very sketchy to say the least. They have all these streams however they aren’t even charting in any streaming charts in the US even tho they have the most streamed wolf in the US Spotify for a kgg and the same thing w playlisting, they currently have playlisting even higher than bts and it’s pretty sure hybe is buying off achievements for them given their streams are coming from mainly US and a few south east countries but they have failed to enter any charts in UK, INDIA AND LATAM(biggest kpop markets)

And just a question, given they have the most streamed song in US by any kgg, how have they not entered the streaming chart even once? Even when ditto literally is the song w highest streams? Or how are they only charting in US and not UK?
