Turn 1 is complete chaos in iRacing as well. And when they decide to use the layout without the first chicane, the second chicane becomes the fisrt one 😂
I think it is on every single racing game online... people just cant seem to make the corner, I did a race on F1 2021 online with 20 people and I started P18 and I was P4 by the start of S3

@@redbadger2656 Yeah, particularly at the start of the race. I feel like most people have their braking point set up when hot lapping, but bc starts are usually slower they either or overcook it or brake too early.

Yesterday I did a race there. Went into that first chicane and got hit from behind. Avoided going off or hitting anyone else. Someone else tried to go up the inside on the second part of the chicane by jumping the kerb and t-boned me. Then another guy hit me in the rear and another hit me coming out of the chicane. I thought despite being hit from all angles, I did well to not actually hit anyone myself or go off/spin ... my prize was a 5 second penalty for contact.
look at this idiot trying not to hit anybody while getting annihilated himself, give him a penalty!

I'm glad that the guy who missed his braking point by 25 meters got ghosted at exactly the right time. He had every intention of using the other cars as bumpers to help him around the chicane

People always cut the chicane like crazy and try to overtake, and then are suprised when you dont leave them space
It's usually people misjudging their braking distance, but to be fair, it is a crap chicane. It shouldn't be there.

It took me 1:47.5 to wake up this morning, my toast was 1:47.5 in the toaster, my coffee percolated for 1:47.5 and .... your 2nd last race getting pushed into the chicane was 1:47.5 before the end of the video. Amazing stuff 😁

5:57 It most certainly did put you on the firing line, the firing side of it. Absolute slaughter, you killed so many with that, you should get a cruise missile or at least a blue shell for a killstreak.
It's nice to know that no matter what sim racer we main, we all agree that T1 Monza isn't a game or track problem. It's a player problem.

I started playing some ACC lately and ever since, GT7 races look a bit like toy cars for some reason.
Don't misunderstand me, if I had a PS, I'd be playing GT7 as well...

It's not only in the game that the Variante del Retifillio causes problems. That slip road between the polystyrene blocks section and the actual chicane is the Superbike layout, first used in 2010 because of a crash in 2009. Just so you get an idea of how bad the problem is

I love the first Monza chicane. It's what I would use if I were to make a dream circuit of my own.
My SR dropped to B from S because of this turn, and I was being really steady and respectful. Just awful, I love Monza other than that damn T1.
Played a lot of ACC and can confirm, the Monza death chicane transcends the choice of sim.

In Italy your sentence is dependant on who you kill. It might actually amount to two seconds.
Two seconds of free falling that is, right after they gave you some concrete shoes and pushed you off a bridge.

Monza and Laguna Seca Raceway were always my two top tracks, where I test newly purchased cars. Of course offline, since 95 % of online players can´t drive and don´t have any race discipline.

The line between taking a chicane as fast as possible, and totally rolling over is a thin line. “Dive bombing” it is kind of the fastest way you can take it, without impeding the track.

Monza on ACC is actually fine if you're in higher safety rated lobbies. I can do two or three races before I see a killing, and I often start from the back for the hell of it.

Finally !! I was going good with my driver rank about a year ago then this race came along and that's when I gave up hahahaha smashed off the track and I got the penalty!!!!!!!
I had two great races in a row here. I usually don’t like Monza but it’s been good to me so far.
With the Icelandic dude, if you haven't seen him before then possibly he's new to sim racing. Maybe he's hotlaped for ages to get fast. Guessing he is now at the beginning of side by side racing. Just needs a bit of experience to improve his race craft. I'm thinking his bad move was inexperience and not malicious. Just my thoughts.
Good point, I think. I am not the guy in question, but I am also new to sim racing and qualify way better than I can race. Its quite demoralising at race timeactually, I always end up dropping positions instead of gaining them!
