For the official rules for the duel, you could say “you may use your best armour and your most powerful projectile weapon”. That way your arrow cannon doesn’t break the rules

You know... you could put your camera account inside one of the bees (by right clicking or left clicking them as spectator mode i don't quite remember), and record the screen for a few hours where they travel to while afk.

I was apparently a biter in nursery school (kind of like pre-pre-kindergarten for 1 and 2 year olds), but then again, I have a hearing loss, and never had hearing aids until I was 5, so that was probably the only way I could communicate. "HEY!!! I'M TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!!! **CHOMP!**" :)

Doc, honestly, I love you episodes at the hour mark. I work in the medical field so knowing that every Friday I have a hour of just being able to drink a cup of coffee and relax before getting stuff done is really nice. It feels like hanging out with a friend but I don't have to expend the energy of talking back 🤣

@@VulpeculaJoy I’m not sure people did go into the kings private area and mumbo sides with the vaults so he’d probably end up being the kings treasurer (ironically making him the richest hermit)
The best part of the AFK rule is that you can rebel by doing nothing, and when you get caught you can guilt trip them by saying “are you really going to punish me for using the bathroom?”

These longer episodes are always a nice way to finish my day; just hunker down and enjoy an hour of beautiful builds and amazing redstone. So don't feel the need to force yourself to cut and trim big chunks of each episode :D
If you find yourself in another fight with Scar, if you wear a full set, with fire protection, projectile protection, and max thorns, he might just die from attacking you.
Edit: consensus seems to be, 1 piece projectile protect, everything else protect 4, plus some fire resist potion, plus the thorns

Full projectile prot+ thorns would be enough, flame doesn't hurt that much.

It seems like daylight is a factor, what with the daylight sensor?
If I understand this right, and the sensor needs legit daylight to come through the transparent piston, you can specify "dawn" as the meeting time to Scar; I know I've heard "pistols at dawn" somewhere, before.
Maybe even better, he will definitely appreciate you specifying a start at "high noon" :)
@@techsmechs2485 If you’re talking about the daylight sensor to activate the arrow cannon, it’s needed because daylight sensor are all on sync.

Ps: you inspired my 9yr old to start her own vegetable garden this year and everything turned out great especially the sugar snap peas and tomatoes.

I was starting to think no-one else caught that, it was so incredible when I realized I knew what he was singing, I get that song stuck in my head all the time!

I'm not sure about the *very* well done, but I was able to recognize the song. I wasn't a fan of it back in the day but over the years it has certainly grown on me.
I truly appreciate Doc's ability to both be a bragging dad and tell stories about his kid, while respecting his kid's privacy. I notice the effort
Yeah, I really appreciate that. Not only does it keep his kid safe, it also protects their privacy. More parents should do that when talking about their kids online.
He tries, though I do think he may have slipped with a pronoun during the story. It's not easy to change the way you speak and tell such long stories.
Given that he obviously has to rewatch the video during editing he may have done it on purpose to throw people off :P

Bee scientist here, i love the little hive you built them!! And i love the concept of bees overtaking the old structure. If you want to do something REALLY cool, id suggest building something that looks like an australian stingless bee hive! They make these super cool spiraling hive structures that are almost a little spooky looking! Good luck with the bee ai! :D

@@benrex7775 from what I saw when he skimmed the book, you're supposed to use the tools only for the correct block types. E.g. Axe for wood, pickaxe for stone etc
He literally did read the book though. There's like 45 seconds of him reading

Doc: makes a perimeter, designs a crazy charged creeper shooter, a one shot kill bow 3000 blocks away, and every farm under the sun.
Also doc for the last 2 months: "Where are my bees!?"
i'm really enjoyin the increased render distance, it really shows where everything is on the server
“Thou shalt never afk” feels like a personal attack towards Doc
Impulse also is known to AFK and it was put on their shop without their consent, as the King knows they are part of the Soup Group Resistance, so they put it there.
(Mind you it's all story and everyone is perfectly ok with the decisions Hermits do and if they weren't, they would talk about it behind closed doors, as they are friends at the end of the day)
I think Xisuma is the main AFKer on the server. He AFKs every night, all night, as far as I know. It was kind of a weird attack on the way he plays the game, considering he has basically nothing to do with the King Ren drama 😂

You could say that the duel begins at "high noon", like an old Western shootout. Maybe even prepare a music disc with suitable music. Have redstone tracks the time of day that fires off a firework to let you know when the duel starts. Of course, it *also* triggers the kill shot at the same time.
Please don't shorten your episodes, Doc. Yes, they may be over an hour, but the vibes you have can't be replaced and the hour-long is what we need.

On the Scar duel... if you use target blocks as decoration, put in a LOT of them, otherwise Scar might shoot at it.
You should tell scar that he can bring a totem, shield and armor, so he'll feel really safe, but then you hit him with the 3 (or more if you want to be absolutely sure) arrow trickshot and still obliterate him. He'd definitely be surprised how you managed to one-shot him.

it might be a bit mean if scar is wearing netherite armour, since the shot is powerful enough to fully obliterate it and kill him in one shot. It does take a while to replace a full set of netherite.
@@Alice_Fumo With the way most of these things go on Hermitcraft, I wouldn't put it past Doc to demand full netherite, obliterate it, and have a shiny new set of enchanted netherite waiting, so the demonstration can be as impressive as possible but there's no actual downside. :)

Yes having some flowers might help, but after the bees pollinate and they don't have nest or hive nearby they start wandering around endlessly, and we go back to square one again. Or at least I think that's how their ai works.

you could try spreading some flowers across your base. bees leave the hive to find flowers so they might wander away to find some elsewhere if there aren't any nearby.
also, bees die when they touch water too often, and they still tend to pathfind into it all of the time, and your base is right next to a swamp, which might be a reason why they disappear.
Yea, the base itself, especially the roof, has a severe lack of flowers...

I keep wondering why he doesn't come up with this solution himself though. Each bee should have at least 3 personal flowers (breakfast, lunch and diner).
So get that roof filled with 2 high bloomers please.

personally I enjoy the longer episodes, they have a far more relaxed feeling rather than constantly fast-paced episodes common to most of youtube now

Would be funny if you detected Scars arrow, and deployed something innocuous looking to block the arrow briefly. Random Armour stand pops out and gets hit instead - maybe invisible like a forcefield.

PS: Bee pathfinding can get "stuck" any time they encounter a hard angle that is less than one block in size. In particular, if they touch an End Rod, they live there now.

Definitely keep the longer videos. I personally love the chill style you have and these longer videos are just so much fun to watch. I think it would be a shame if you started to make shorter videos.

I used to never watch Doc's videos because they were so long but recently I've gotten absolutely addicted. The longer videos let him take his time to really showcase his projects and all the little moments. His projects are insanely impressive but his voice and vibes are so relaxed. Now I wish his videos were longer lmao. This video is especially great :)
The easygoing vibe seems so counterintuitive for videos with ominous titles and a half robotic explosive goat horned supervillain in the thumbnail, but it really is the perfect kinda chill to relax with. They make for excellent "company" whilst doing tedious stuff--I've actually moved around some of my chore schedule to put laundry folding etc on Fridays because it's the perfect thing to distract from the tedium.
My commute to work is almost exactly an hour so these longer videos are a great treat after a long week of work

Great episode, don't worry about the length, I kinda like the longer episodes. I also have issues with my bees disappearing, then I went 300 or so blocks east, and there were around 50 or 60 bees just flying around. Another 30-40 were chilling about 150 blocks west. I don't understand, but I'm about to just lock them up!

You buy many different tools and use those to mine blocks that they are meant to mine.
Ex: pickaxe to break slabs and concrete, axe to break pumpkin, shovels for concrete powder and so on.
I feel so good when you share the moments of Doocy. It always put smile on my face.
