Today I learned there's a fine line between motivational quotes and authoritarian propaganda
I didn't know there was actually a line. Both are designed to get you to do things you probably do not want to do.

@rolson99 Most motivational speakers are selling you on either information they are selling or tools they hold. The motivational quotes that don't relate to the previous are normally mixed bags where, for a usually smaller percentage, they will work. Those that on average work for a larger percentage usually are vague phrases which normally have the person derive their own meaning. At that point the actual benefit from the quote is debatable as a person insulting you with a vague insult can and has on multiple occasions pushed people to improve themselves in a manner equal to or greater than those attributed to the motivational quote.
there is no such lines, most motivational quotes work as propaganda, if they're not for a leader, they're often for an ideology
@@rolson99 actually there is plenty of authoritarian propoganda that tells you rely on yourself... Plenty of the "Be the Strong man!" usually the intention is "be the strong man for your country" but still, the message isnt always "obey" but often "be useful" which doesnt need to explicitly state "for the government"
its why there is a solid amount of overlap with corporate "training" stuff like sht from wallmart or amazon or other big companies, with "oh you are wonderful, make sure to snitch on people who want to unionize" or similar, even if you dont like unions its pretty shitty to not let talks happen regardless, or firing people for trying it
I am so glad I started watching Doc this season!!! I stared as a hard core Sahara watcher in Season 6, but what I love about hermitcraft is the variety in content! I watched a lot of Papa K and Bdubs in 7. And 8, well that was all over the place. And Season 9 is by far my favorite with watching the Goat and Tango!!! The Goat, perimeter, TCG and Decked out is just amazing to watch!
I can't wait to see the other Hermits' reactions to such inspirational messages. 😊

20:05 Listen. I know we're annoyed with Doc's neighbors.. but i cant help but be impressed with the lighting in ScarLand. It's absolutely stunning at night. And seeing how the bridge to his cookie shop is lit so beautifully too; I dont think its an accident. Scar is such a talented builder.

My god . . . before I started watching you with the tunnel bore incident, my only exposure to your content was your collabs with Etho in early HermitCraft seasons when you were making mini games and stuff. This is insane how much of a mad scientist you’ve become, and over the last episodes, you’ve easily become my new favorite Hermit. I absolutely love your ambition, deviousness, and sense of humor! I think they were ready to admit defeat until they realised that all the sniffers from the hole were dead. They were Grian and Mumbo's sniffers and their children so they decided to not end it here.
But during the random block replacement, there was only one sniffer in the room. Master stroke would be to get them on the brink of surrendering, then gift them their original sniffers back to finish them off. Doc wouldn't kill a name tagged mob, look how concerned he was about the horse with the saddle but no name tag...

The horse was climbing the wall of the Perimeter, so Ren rescued it and left it in the cave. As for the bots, I would build a display case around them with a sign that goes "Against a well thought plan, Incompetence has won" or something like that. XD
I always get lost staring at the geometry of that flagpole. After so much time has passed, it is still so cool to look at. I love the execution on those audio files. So perfect!

I watched Grian’s last episode with my son. I didn’t expect their camp to explode but was not surprised when it did! I looked at my son and said, “Well that tracks.”
Lol, I had about the same reaction. When Doc showed the sign last episode I thought “that’s cool, but feels like something is missing here”. I expected something more technical than redstone line+tnt spam, but can’t say I’m disappointed. On the contrary, the simplicity of it makes it all the better. He spent time on the part he cared about (the cool sign) and the revenge was just a nice addendum.
Yeah didn’t know he hooked that up to some TNT. Brilliant surprise.

Mumbo ages his copper a little to close to Grians‘ base, so Grian builds a tower on Mumbos‘ Base.
Because of that, Mumbo creates the statue of liberty on Grians‘ Base, so Grian has to get more copper to top that.
Because he has to get copper he finds DocMs‘ machine.
Because he was bored while smelting the copper, he writes in the chat, that he won‘t finish the back of his base,
Scar, iMpuls and GeminiTay come to annoy him into doing so.
Because of that Grian an Scar are flying to the machine.
Because it‘s Scar and Grian and they are the most chaotic people on the server, they both press the noteblock and the rest is history

Really loved how you used the discs here, was hoping to see something like this ever since tango showed off the range mechanic and you nailed it. But just saying, because Mumbo's making his new big tower and by that point the discs are very quiet, perhaps increase the range by 100-150 blocks?

Although to be fair, Mumbo was kinda dragged into this thanks to Doc... And he had nothing to do with the tunnel bore blowing up. I mean, yeah, he built a counter mech, but he honestly only blew up like, two blocks off the goat mech in the end, so he's pretty harmless in all this.

If you want to mess with the copper, instead of waxing it which they will see by looking at with F3, put more copper blocks directly below each one so they just change veeeery slowly.

@@emilyscloset2648 I thought about that but Doc has effectively infinite supply and with all the farms and shopping district it's not like getting more is an onerous task. It makes the peak a little bit wholesome because although they got annoyed by it they also benefited from it.
Do both so they think they fixed it when they strip the wax off, but it's still super slow.
It took over two weeks, but I marathoned every Season 9 episode so I can look forwards to new videos each Friday (after Doc gets back from vacation of course)
Also, can you imagine if Doc left the messages at max range right before leaving for two weeks? He'd come back to about 5 different retaliation pranks.
Can't wait for Scar to hear these for the first time. It's going to freak him out!

Scar was able to make custom artwork. It would be really cool if doc made an art gallery in the hall of goat with custom art pieces for each of the community artist pieces used in the episodes. That way all of the art pieces can be preserved and viewed with the world download.

Once they get used to the speaker you should make individual sounds that start the same but turn and calls them by their name, and have that played manually while they're online. I'm sure it would freak them out for good.
Oh wow! I just realized you can do centralized open and closes messages over the entire park, but with the range that means that all of Scar's "Lands" could have their own themes that fade in and out as you walk across the park, and the music can even change throughout the day to fit the mood of the area just like actual theme parks!
Oh and yes, total distopian nightmare fuel over the perimeter right now, love it! 😂
I just came from the video Scar released today(Aug19) and when Doc was like "should I make the robot look like they've been reclaimed by nature" I had to pause the video I was laughing so hard. I feel like I have to say yes, please do that.
Planned or not, the shenanigans are the best part of each season. Good pranks and "turf war" type episodes are some of the most genuinely fun episodes. Pranks are the most memorable part of each season, not to knock any buildings made but we rarely hear people talking about them but as soon as someone says "Thank you for choosing Tango's Bedrock Service :)" you start grinning because it was one of the most memorable pranks ever.
I'm definitely getting a Portal / GLaDOS vibe from some of those messages. I think it's the combination of the even, level voice and the implied threat.
Perhaps Xisuma was inspired by Cubfan during the Empires crossover and decided that it was a good idea to spread the skulk

I only saw one sniffer down there, and it didn't have a nametag. The sniffers seem to have been spirited away when we weren't looking.
@@RedGylPossibly, although No one on the buttercup's side knows that based on Grian's episode so the effect will likely be the same regardless of if Snoot survived or died. Plus given how much doc seemed annoyed with the sniffer onesie, killing the sniffers could have been catharsis by proxy. I'm leaning towards a Sniffer Genocide route.
