I keep everything that I am in a box high up on my shelf.
More than just memories of the past, it's all of the love that I have to give.
Because that's who I really am.
I am the love that I put into others;
I am the effort, the work, the trust, the struggle.
I am all of the things that I would do for those I love and care for.
Even if it's difficult, even if it hurts me.
Right now, I am trapped inside that box and I have no love left to give.
And that's okay.
One day I'll take that box down and I'll laugh and cry and smile and remember.
And I'll learn to love myself again.
But for now, I'll leave myself high up on my shelf.
And that's okay :)
