If you want to see another planet. On TH-cam search Chris Labarbera and Airmen of note. It’s basically Chris and Brian going back and forth. There are so many great other planet players you’ve never heard of. I heard this video as long time ago. This guy is legit.
Gee, eight trumpets is almost enough! These guys are blowing their butts off and 6 people give them 3-4 claps and a nod? They've got enough fire power to provide lead players for a half dozen big bands.
When MacDonald goes 8va at about the 4:15 mark... Game over... jeez. I tip my hat to you, sir. You can empty your spit valve on my shoe any day of the week. Also Vizzutti looking bored/mad on the left at 3:45, lollzzz! God love him...
I studied with Dave Detweiler who recorded the original scream machine with the Army Blues. Was there when they played it in public the first time in the 80’s. You did him proud.
Very, very harismatic band!!!!and Thanks God for You presents and presents Allen Vizutti!!!🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️ Thank You,Allen!!!! You is a Brilliant in golden diadim this band!!!God bless You,and all this musicians!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💙💛💙💛💙💛💙
I have been wondering that for a long time watching the videos in this venue. Absolutely first class performers yet hardly anybody they’re watching. Can someone tell me where this venue is? I’ve googled it and cannot seem to locate it anywhere. I assume somewhere in the US?
No. The Taylor Dave Stahl Unpublished version is Scream Machine. The published, easier version in Brass Machine. James Morrison also has a different song called Scream Machine. We recorded all 3.
@@RAJEJAZZ oh ok, learnt something new today! I have played brass machine, and listened to JM scream machine which is why I thought this was the former. Cheers for the reply
too bad the trpts really lost the momentum at 2:49, but thankfully the drummer picked it up again at 3:21. It always erks me when sections have no concept of time.
Great recording - but this piece is called BRASS MACHINE - Scream machine is an original James Morrison track - th-cam.com/video/kgogPUgym3Q/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=JamesMorrison
Hey! Thanks for listening! I have the published version of the same song titled brass machine. This is the unpublished/original that is in a higher key. music.th-cam.com/video/Dim9o4mqrdQ/w-d-xo.html
I hate to say it, but this is every grievance that people have with trumpet players all rolled into one song. Start your solo typing in all caps with a 16th note run that inevitably falls apart at which point you just start squealing. Play a bunch of unnecessary turns and excessive vibratos to the point where the section is completely disconnected. And of course, hold the high note WAY after the cutoff to make sure everyone knows that it was you, awesome you, that was hitting it. Nobody does that except trumpet players. WHY??? Stop it!
James Morrison's Scream Machine is a different song from this. This is Mark Taylor's Brass Machine. I don't understand the mistake... you even have a Scream Machine recording here: th-cam.com/video/ODzcTFb9HCI/w-d-xo.html
Vizzutti always seems to be playing at about 10% of his capacity - so relaxed and easy.
No pressure on his chops. Check out him playing The Carnival of Venice Variation while rotating the horn.
Carnival of Venus...there he is at 100%!
no, that's about how he always plays, he was too soft a lead for Woody Herman's herd.
Crazy talented trumpet section
What an amazing band and recording! Goodness Brian MacDonald is on a different planet!!
Different planet? Dude is in a different galaxy.

These videos are so odd - killer band and top flight artists playing before an audience of like 25 people.
The U.S. as a whole lost interest in big band in the 1950s. Sad but true.
The Best Musicians get together because they love to play and not necessarily to impress the common man eating his burger and fries! 🎺👍
Opportunity to record under good and controlled circumstances.
Musical talent is hard to monetize. Hugh talent in small venues; musical lightweights in stadiums. Go figure.
The owner must like big bands.

With Stevie Wonder as the videographer…
😅
Couldn't watch this again, but could listen to it 100 times! (friendly suggestion, shoot it straight up, then do the zooms in post processing)
that trumpet section filled with talent wow!
I studied with Dave Detweiler who recorded the original scream machine with the Army Blues. Was there when they played it in public the first time in the 80’s. You did him proud.
Wow.. What a trumpet section!!
Awesome, trumpets are all awesome!
Some damn good players in that group... and Allen, of course.
Epic tune and trumpet battle!! 🐬
Danny DeVito is killing it on trombone

Great band, Great Viz, Great sound, Great audio - what is going on with the video?????
Crazy Operator😂
정말 연주가 감동입니다
You guys sound awesome! 👍
I believe the lead trumpet player used to be the lead for the airmen of note.
Brian MacDonald, and still is!
Amazing playing, great photography!
Allen is always great, but damn is Brian MacDonald laying it down!
Hi Brian! yeah!!
I first heard this tune on Dave Stahl's "Anaconda" album. If it's still out there, go get it.
8 trumpets, now we're talking!
Give it up for one,of Missoula Montana's best!
The camera work on this video is making me seasick!
me too fucking terrible camera work i know as im a professional

That laed trumpet looks familiar. Who is he?
Brian MacDonald - Lead Trumpet for the Airmen of Note. Fantastic player.
@@Mr.LajasRCHS I thought so. Thanks
The guy that soloed and was next to Mr. MacDonald is Josh Kauffman, the lead player for the US Army Blues
you got chops guys!
Helloooo cameraman ,what r you doin??
Absolut geile Musiker und dann nur so wenig Zuhörer...schade für die Band😬.
Thanks for sharing but PLEASE steady the camera!
This must have been filmed on a boat in the north Atlantic.
Genial
RIP to the trombone's ear drums 🪦
I am 100% convinced that I made the correct career choice.
i like how cringe that all was and how good the playing was at the same time
B Mac !!!
Who plays on left hand of Mr. MacDonald?
Wrong machine. It’s Brass Machine not Scream Machine.

I have seen a number of big bands on TH-cam play in this venue. I keep researching trying to figure out where it is. Where is this establishment?
love the audio...but the video is HORRIBLE! Too much movement, random zooming in, etc. I'm so dizzy. But, my ears are happy!
Never thought I'd say it, but Maynard, eat your heart out.
The recording of Dave Stahl is als great, th-cam.com/video/Dim9o4mqrdQ/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUZZGF2ZSBzdGFobCBzY3JlYW0gbWFjaGluZQ%3D%3D
I think Maynard would be smiling and loving every second.
Completely ruined by the videographer...
Band sounds great. You need a better videographer.
too bad the trpts really lost the momentum at 2:49, but thankfully the drummer picked it up again at 3:21. It always erks me when sections have no concept of time.
it started out a bit slow, somebody had to do something
WTF I couldn't fit the role of the 6th trumpet in this band.
