Thanks so much for posting this video. The family names listed on the signs have given me some valuable clues. Like me, John Floyd was a direct descendant of the Nathaniel Davis family and Nicketti, the niece of Pocahontas. Family lore has it that he also had his hand in the rescue of Jemima Boone. I had a second great grandfather named John McClellan Huber, and I've never been able to figure out who his namesake was. It may have been this John McClelland, although it has a slight spelling difference with a "d" at the end. I will be sure to check that out. Again, thanks so much for posting.
@@familytreenutshistorygenealogy John McClellan Huber was only two years younger than General George McClellan, so it likely did not have anything to do with him. It does not appear to have anything to do with General McClellan's extended family either. But I do admit that was the very first thing that ran through my mind when I first saw John McClellan Huber's name. Thanks for the hint anyway.
Really appreciate the education and visual explanation you provide with your videos. For those of us who like exploring the past but can't travel to experience or learn about these locations and events, these videos are wonderful. Thank you
Thank you for the interesting video. Sadly, William Price, my Revolutionary veteran ancestor who came to Scott County in 1790 and died in 1831, is not listed on the monument.

Perhaps your ancestor was named after the Civil War General McClellend?

Haha, that is something that I hope to never be an expert on! Haha
Where did Elijah Craig come from which state?
He was from Virginia. Our next video is about him exclusively.

Oh no! I wonder why!? Is he not buried in Scott County? Is it a mistake?
You found my tree nut. I am a descendant of Elijah Craig
Haha, that’s great!
