At first I didn’t realize what it was, I got my vacuum out and try to suck as many up as I can. I went outside and dump the vacuum. mom survived and ran down the road lol. For months after I was finding little spiders getting big in my house lol. 😢
On a side note wasps eat widow spiders. I don't like either but I'll let the wasps do what they do than deal with brown widows. When I bought my house my eves were infested with brown widows. I read somewhere that wasps and mud daubers eat them so I stopped killing the nests on my upstairs eves and no more brown widows.

They most definitely live in Florida but like most of the comments said they are harmless and they're only the largest in diameter spider in the world and I think our species comes from South America not 100% I would have to Google that but the spider to be more worried about is the brown recluse
@@JohnSmith-ut5mv thank God brown recluse don't live in Florida except for a few areas that deal with shipping from out of state. Look it up they are confined to a very limited area and don't spread i think it's too hot and humid here for them. But we do have brown widows and they are everywhere.

We have huntsman and golden orbweavers. My husband is very leery of the orb-weavers, which are big enough to catch a bird but live in the trees but man, when he sees a huntsman he abandons the house and makes me deal with it! Those things can move 3 yards per second!
Some of these type of spiders what's scary is they can jump and you don't know which way they're going to go so you don't want to get too close for fear their going to jump on you I know how it is I've lived in Florida way back in the day when I was a kid for several years it's always good to have a couple of cats around your property because some of these cats they're amazing and they will take care of small problems that we don't want to mess with and when you got spiders snakes aren't too far behind LOL
I was told by a carpenter that if you introduce "house centipedes" they will eliminate all of your pest problems. They are non venomous and harmless to humans but lethal to pests such as spiders, roaches and other insects.
i had two that set up in my garage… yeah, i didn’t mind parking in the driveway. No for real, i refused to use the garage until their dead bodies were located and brought me as evidence of their unfortunate demise!
I have taken a couple of these down windex confuses them till you get the broom or mop and knock their souls out then sweep em out the door so the birds can swoop down and devour them
We have them in Southern Illinois too! I caught one crawling up my arm this summer and I looked at him, he looked at me and then I jumped and screamed and ran LOL. He wasn't mean or aggressive I think I freaked him out more than well not more than he freaked me out. Wolf spiders are aggressive and they have chased me down. I named that big guy Ferdinand cuz it was pretty chill other than being creepy as hell!
Funny story: my mother ordered a chair from Australia, and we all know where this is going. 7, yes SEVEN, huntsman spiders crawled out and we called pest control. One of them even quit their job when they saw them. I know it seems fake, and I would say that too, but he actually quit!
