Marvel as the right for the comic version and they f#ck it up when they got it in the 90s even when they did crossover with Prime and Hulk and other Characters I wish they brought back Ultraverse Reboot it are something the Characters has so much potential that is not shown

this was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid. I didnt know anything about Shazam put Prime I thought was a cool concept of a kid turning into an adult superhero.
I love Marvel and Ultraforce is definitely one I enjoyed. As an aspiring comic book artist I draw lots of stuff. If I worked at Marvel/Disney I'd revive it. The Ultraverse is considered a Marvel Earth

Prototype and the rest are ALL too similar to existing franchises currently hitting the airwaves. The common consensus is that even in the best case scenario, the Malibu Universe of Superheroes would split the existing potential consumer base between the Malibu diehards and the Marvel returnees. It's considered more risk than reward probably.

There are plenty of extremely similar characters within Marvel that can happily coexist and they are fine with introducing many legacy characters and variants of existing heroes. Let's see this roster: we have Ghoul who looks like something straight out of the toxic crusaders, Prototype who is basically like Ironman but with electrical powers, Topaz who is xena/wonder woman, Hardcase who looks like doc Samson but with blond hair and can fly, Contrary who looks like Emma frost, has storms costume on and hovers around in a chair like professor X, and Prime who is the hulk/captain marvel combined
Prototype is like Iron Man. The woman with short blonde hair sounds like Jubilee and the super villain boss (Attalon King of the Fire People) sounds like Magneto from the 90's X-Men Animated Series.
Peter Profesta You forgot Hardcase, who's based on Wonderman. Seriously, though, back in the 90's the twists that Malibu did for the characters made them more unique, especially considering the darker tone of the story (Hardcase's PTSD, Kevin's angst, Contrary's real intentions, etc.)
Wrong on all fronts. Hardcase can't fly, simularities in characters is nothing new, but these characters had original twists and actually deep, human characterization. Prime is more like captain marvel (shazaam) but MUCH more interesting.
I never heard of this show, or the comic book this was based on. I lived in a time where Batman, X-men, TMNT, WildCats and just about every comic book based cartoon series dominated kids TV, and somehow this slipped through the cracks.

A shame that after Marvel acquired the Malibu assets that they never saw fit to toss this one out as an official DVD release. I would def add it to my collection.
I think I recalled seeing this on USA Network back then. I was visiting San Antonio at that time during Spring Break and I change it after Power Rangers. Shame the Ultraforce comics and the cartoon didn't last that long due to bad toy sales and heavy popularity of Power Rangers.

I wish Marvel had never bought the Ultraverse characters; they haven't done anything with them in decades and, due to nebulous legal reasons that they've never disclosed to the public, they probably never will.
Why was Malibu Comics discontinued? Because of Marvel, that's why. The Ultraforce will never see the light of day(unless you got Tubi) ever again. There's a little boy who is temporarily all grown up, ready to be a Superman-like superhero. Faster (and more powerful than) speeding bullets and a locomotive; he's able to leap anything in a single bound, let alone a tall building. A parody that spoofs the man of steel, he's Prime.
So when hard case was fighting enemy right when prime showed up he blocked two energy blasts with his wrists but got shot with one in the chest and got sent flying 🤔
The opening is almost exactly like that of the 90s "X-Men" cartoon; shots of the characters "doing their thing", then their name appears in a giant logo. Shitty theme song, however.
In his comics he did learned about not showboating the hard way when he turned into his dark half as HEEL PRIME aka ROGUE PRIME but he did turn back to normal prime before his final battle most likely

The ONLY connection was that Image Comics had a DISTRIBUTION deal with Malibu Comics...until Malibu started using Image Comics to promote thier own shit, resulting in them terminating the deal. That's it. None of the Image guys had anything to do with the creation of any of Malibu's properties.
