GEC Barton Hill is a good College but it is not in the list because the College does not have Computer Science Engineering Branch. But you may consider the other Branches like IT and ECE there.

@@illuminanti8161 CET is best but in the case of other engineering colleges especially private ones, placement is available everywhere, but in a average college you have a chance of becoming a topper .And on plus two mark basis if you are among first three students in a class and has above 90 % plus two marks then you can get full fee reduction (scholarship) from AICTE. Chance of getting this scholarship is high in a average college but too difficult to get in a high ranking college. You should observe college rankings if you are trying after a good JEE rank and trying into IITs NITs etc. In kerala all engineering colleges are under KTU and so not much difference is there. Ofcourse toppers should go to CET, or Govt engineering colleges as they have best faculty

50% to 90 % is just 25 seats increment. For that number it is very difficult to get for 35k rank. Spot admission is only if seats are vacant. There are less chance for that also. You may try giving option.
Don't fully carried away these ranking.Join a reasonable good Engineering college and take some core branch.Pass with first class. These are minimum requirements for OC students.Getting good job based on GATE score for which you got Hyderabad like cities and join good coaching centre like ACE Academy.
The thing is outside India all are equally treated ...just see the qualifying degree ,skill and experience..nothing special in college brand ..online is enough to make one up skilled ..and it is quite easy and wise rather than go behind energy money and time consuming entrance coaching to get a branded college...that brand value has only national scope ,,,outside India all are equally treated in the global market ..,your skill and experience can make you stand out...for that online learning and degree from an ordinary college is enough
At present job opportunities for Civil Engineers are less. But if you are really passionate, you can study and excel. Then you may get a good Job. If you are ready to go abroad more job opportunities are there.

The other better option is going through the academic performance index publish by KTU and the results of previous years..
Thanks for the Correction. We personally don't believe Result and Pass Percentage are good measures of Ranking the College. Our Engineering Education System is largely depends on Rote Memory based learning. Hence Pass Percentage simply reflect that only. The university must develop a better ranking system. Till then Public Perception like Last Rank in Prominent branches is a better measure for ranking the Colleges.
The main purpose of education is to get a job. I believe so. The most colleges with better pass percentage are also having better placement records too.. Many of the self financing colleges in kerala are farrr better than most of the govt colleges and govt. Controlled self financing colleges. But the common believes are always like if my ward get an admission in a gvt. College everything is fulfilled.. But before joining in any college or course we must go through the track history of the college and course.. what u said is your suggestions and what i said is my experience. Thats it..👍
Govt Colleges are preferred by Parents and Students because of the fees and legacy they had from 80s. That continued till now. Companies think that best students are in Govt colleges and they go for Placement in Such Colleges only. Placement of Govt Colleges are very good in Kerala. Some of the Govt controlled Self financing Colleges are good and some are not up to the marks. Some of the Private self financing Colleges are performing very well and some are worst. Placement in Self financing Colleges are not in par with Govt Colleges. Regarding Pass Percentage if you train student day and night with Previous Year Question Paper you will get more number of Pass and good Pass Percentage. But most of the time that does not reflect on the skills acquired by the students or placement record.
KTU ranking index is totally a rubbish parameter to find the top 10 colleges. While choosing a tuition Center like Muthoot institute it will be useful.
As a student in Government Engineering college Bartonhill (IT) , I can say that it is one of the top 10 colleges in Kerala. It is the second best one as per the academic index (You can check it from KTU site itself). And also the best engineering college in Kerala for IT stream with 70+ % placement last year. I don't know Why it is still underrated among the reviewers like this!

Regarding Pass Percentage if you train student day and night with Previous Year Question Paper you will get more number of Pass and good Pass Percentage. But most of the time that does not reflect on the skills acquired by the students or placement record.
KTU ranking index is totally a rubbish parameter to find the top 10 colleges. While choosing a tuition Center like Muthoot institute it will be useful.

As a student in Government Engineering college Bartonhill (IT) , I can say that it is one of the top 10 colleges in Kerala. It is the second best one as per the academic index (You can check it from KTU site itself). And also the best engineering college in Kerala for IT stream with 70+ % placement last year. I don't know Why it is still underrated among the reviewers like this!
