Brightline West UPDATE | Las Vegas to Los Angeles | Opening Date??

- Brightline West will build on Florida’s award-winning service by connecting Las Vegas and Southern California with the first true high-speed passenger rail system in the nation. This 218-mile, all-electric high-speed rail service will include a flagship station in Las Vegas, with additional stations in Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Rancho Cucamonga. At speeds up to 200 miles per hour, trains will take passengers from Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga in just 2 hours and 10 minutes, twice as fast as the normal drive time. The Rancho Cucamonga Station will connect to Southern California’s regional Metrolink service, allowing for seamless connectivity into downtown Los Angeles and beyond.

That is awesome! I wish they would build a track from GA to CA. Train travel is fun but takes too long from Fl to CA because they make you go up and over. We need a straight track from east to west.
Yeah after Hurricane Katrina, the line was suspended from New Orleans to Jacksonville (part of the Sunset Limited) and has never been restored. New Orleans to Mobile is set to reopen in late 2024. Hopefully that is a start to getting it all back. I would take Orlando to New Orleans at least twice a year if open!

Very cool. I live In Lancaster our in the sub. Suburb on Los Angeles and it’s suppose to stop here. It was supposed to be completed already but when everything shut down things stopped. It’s suppose to stop in Antelope Valley

Hey fun fact. I live in the town (Stockton on Tees) that had the worlds first passenger railway (to Darlington ) unfortunately this is not really celebrating by the local authorities here 😢
Oh that is weird, they should celebrate it! Railfans would come from all over to see a monument or displays! Check out the hailstorm video on my channel that I just posted. We got hit with HORRIBLE weather! Share it! It's crazy!

I didn't know they were doing this! Super cool, and yes premium class is the way to go! with 4-hours of travel time there's plenty of time to take advantage of the amenities. We have a lot of friends and family in the Los Angeles area and we visit often, I would love to use Brightline to visit vegas, it's faster by car, but the gas prices, driving fatigue, and wear and tear on the car, it's so much more worth it to take this high-speed rail. Great video, thanks for doing this!!!
Yeah Brightline expanding out west is awesome! We can be true and honest since we've ridden it here in Florida so many times. We LOVE it! Premium is the way to go if you can afford the tickets. We booked a ride for December 2024 and did Smart class. Had to cut costs since it was part of a bigger trip to Miami. When this opens we will ride it a lot to get to Vegas and to LA! Orlando right now. Orlando, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura and Miami right now are all open.
Stuart, Cocoa, Tampa coming at some point.
