Woodford Folk Festival welcomes thousands of guests from around the world annually for a week of music, entertainment and reflection, and is brought to life by over 2600 volunteers. It's that community of volunteers, employees and guests that really set Woodford Folk Festival apart; a special and unique environment cherished by generations and at its very heart is Amanda Jackes.
Growing up in a community-minded family, it's no surprise that after a chance invitation to a local folk club festival, Amanda Jackes has cemented her legacy at the Woodford Folk Festival. Joining the community as a volunteer at its second event in 1988, Amanda knew she had found her calling, and is now paving her own legacy in running the festival in the wake of founder Bill Hauritz.
