  • In this episode we will be discussing one of my favorite fish, the shubunkin goldfish.
My lovely wife and my eldest grandson Jaxon will be doing the narration. They do an amazing job.
This profile on the shubunkin goldfish is based on what I know to be true. The fish you see were all bred and born in my ponds.

Hello Jackson and Mrs Stubbings what a wonderful surprise 🥰🙏♥️
WOW thank you so much for this!! I really enjoyed learning the history and everything shubunkin!!
In my opinion these fish are the most elegant, graceful and fascinating!! Who couldn't fall in love?
I was already in love with these fish but after watching this video being a must have is going to have to come a little more quickly😁♥️
Color is another big thing for me! The patterns of these fish just take my breath away ❤️
Chris you can see the love, dedication and time that has come with years of hard work shining through in everything you do!!
Taking the time to share your experience and yes your expertise with others makes you and your Channel very special!!
You definitely have great things coming your way!!

@@stubbsaquatics6080 You have some AWESOME ponds
& some FABULOUS LOOKING FISH, that has been very
well taken care of & the aquariums with goldfish breeds
O-M-😮I tried putting my goldfish in a 75 gal aquarium
& that didn't turn out too good but I guess 9 of them
wasn't meant to be in 1 tank when 3 of them are almost

I have watched Sandra's and Jackson's video, oh four or five, maybe six times. And gosh guy, this is one of the top videos out there. Just the research was enough to make it good. However, you people made it excellent. Thank you. Now a question; I have always looked at my shubunkins, and wondered what they really are, what type? They aren't Londons nor do they seem to be Bristols, although that is what I call them. Isn't there a third type?

    • @stubbsaquatics6080
      @stubbsaquatics6080  ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks so very much Roland for your very kind words and your support.
Those words mean the world to me.
Some of my other shubunkin videos might be helpful.
Bristol as you know have a rounded tail with a strong blue in their colouring where the London has more of a forked tail.
There is no official that I know of but over here in Canada most of our fish come from America as in the USA. They tend to have more of a sarasa tail which is much longer with a forked tail
My Shubunkin have very long tailed. I purchased some a long time ago and bred them.. I did not keep the parents and kept breeding them until I have more of the patterns and fins that I like. My last shubunkin video demonstrates that a bit more.
I hope that answered your questions.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

In this tank I don't really have any live plants.
I do in a lot of mine though.
I have two good filters that help with keeping the nutrients down.
I also have a nerite snail and two bristlenose plecos in there that really help.
How long do you keep your lights on?
      How many watts?
How many live plants do you have? .
      Lower the amount of light..

    • @stubbsaquatics6080

      Hi Emer.
      Thanks for watching.
Goldfish are a social fish. So in a large pond with just two they will hide until they feel more comfortable.
Start putting in a little bit of food in the same place. They will get accustomed to you being there and relate your presence to food. Are they the only fish in the pond? Sometimes a couple more fish of the same size will help them feel braver.
I hope that helps . I would love to see your pond and fish
