Obviously you won’t move again for awhile but as someone who’s moved so many times, take the drawers out of the dresser and keep the clothes in them so you have more boxes for other things! It’s a tip I’ve learned throughout the years. It makes it easier because then you don’t have to retold clothes as well
We've moved so many times in the last 1.5 year, but always just had a carload of stuff. Now we're about to move our entire home so this is super helpful!! Will be doing this!

Just a moving tip from a veteran mover. I know you probably won’t move again for a long time but don’t write on the box what is inside. Write on the packing tape that seals them. That way you can sell the boxes and they don’t have writing all over them or you can store them in the basement or wherever and use them again and not have to scrub out what you wrote on them the first time.
I think the most annoying part about packing up a house is definitely packing the kitchen/pantry stuff... Soooo many small things AND breakable things!!!
We've moved a lot, and I would definitely say $7-10K in savings before you move. There are ALWAYS expenses that come up, down-payment, etc. I think ours altogether was $6K but ours went smoothly so I'd suggest a little more just in case 😀

I always used my suitcases to pack shoes, clothes, etc so I could avoid boxes too!
