You can find every body part you will ever need at LMC truck for these old Dodge's. As far as the thermoquads go, they are a good carburetor when adjusted properly. The main issue they encounter is around the throttle blade rod as it exits the carb. They get worn and will create a vacuum leak. Also look out for cracking in the plastic. The best information I've seen is in the 1974 Chrysler Imperial repair manual for specifications on the thermoquad. As far as the magnum engines vs. LA go, you can put magnum heads on an LA block, but they do oil differently and you have to get an aftermarket intake made specifically for the magnum heads. The intake for the LA has bolts that are platformed for the angle of the head, where the magnum heads have vertical bolts. Also, you would have to change the cam, lifters, and push rids since the magnum is a roller engine, or order hollow push rods for the oiling. LA engines have an oil passage where the oil passes through the head to the rocker rail, the magnum setup oils through the push rods to the rocker rail. Technically it would be more cost effective to simply buy a magnum engine and put the aftermarket carbureted intake on it. Then all you need to do is swap the distributor to the LA distributor to make it compatible. If you plan to run a mechanical fuel pump, you will have to add a concentric to the upper timing gear and replace the timing cover for the fuel pump provision. The 2-barrel slant 6 was referred to as the super 6. Great video, thanks for sharing.
