Most of these women look like everyday people, not ugly. It’s a huge issue to feel so insecure. Self esteem isn’t going to immediately get better with surgery, especially when these women get pitted against each other in a pageant
You'd be surprised how much plastic surgery can boosts a persons confidence, its like wearing a new pair of shoes or Gucci outfit. Look good feel good as they say.

i think the fact the plastic surgeon called a perfectly normal, healthy body feature an "anatomic error" tells us everything we need to know. Did you know they call hip dips " the violin defect" THEY CALL HIP DIPS A DEFECT.
Well of course they do… That’s literally how they make their money lol. They sell you on the idea that you’re defective and they can help you reach “perfection”.
My very common and cute and functional Asian nose is also deemed defective aesthetically because of a high-set columella and “hanging” alars. To be fair, I always felt like it was not pretty enough, but that’s only compared to the widely broadcast Western noses. Now that I’m in my 30s, I’ve gotten used to my natural little mushroom, and I don’t think it’d be worth any money to change it-unless I somehow go through a freak accident someday and need reconstruction, at which point I may seize the chance :p
Tbf something being a defect doesn't mean it's ugly, like dimples, freckles, and blue eyes are all genetic anomalies that eventually became pretty common and are all cute!
@@jaykay5086 he was already dead not dying. decomposing eyes will change colors, its called tache noir. That mixed with whatever fluids could have come out of the eye could really make it look like olives
The 3rd one was actually gorgeous before, like she had perfect bpne structure and all. She was just depressed and unfiltered. The only glow up she needed was glitter and a therapist
The crazy thing is, I had rhinoplasty a year ago and doctor told me to not do any physical labor for 2 weeks yet this show made these women do hard workouts almost immediately after surgery. It’s no wonder so many of them have long term complications now.
My rhinoplasty doctor was very particular about his work and told me not to do anything physical for 6 MONTHS. I think he would blow a fuse if someone told me to work out straight after surgery.
@kraXoom exactly. My doctor was extremely careful and said to me, that I shouldn't leave my house for 2 weeks and take time for recovery. I wasn't even allowed to laugh for two weeks! Telling the woman to exercise right after the surgery is pretty fcked up.
@@sulkyradio The nose needs time to get used in the new form. If the nose gets hurt at that time or you use the face muscle too much (for example a ball falls on the nose or laughing too hard), then the nose could lose the wished result. Worse case is that not only can you get aesthetic but also medical problems from it (for example: not able breath through the nose). Then you need to visit a revision and need to make the whole surgery again.
Yeah I'm not sure with bigger surgeries but that was definitely at least two weeks post-op given how less swollen her face was? My septoplasty was also two weeks no heavy lifting, but I was allowed to go for walks and stuff when I felt up to it.
I’d heard that A LOT of the women that were on this show ended up needing some intense therapy afterwards because many of them had trouble dealing with not being able to recognize themselves anymore after all the procedures
All of those girls looked perfectly fine, they weren't ugly in the slightest! They needed therapy, not surgery. That reality show was taking advantage of their poor self esteem for views.
Exactly, if you want to feel more self confident, you can either hit the gym or learn martial arts, these activities can make you feel empowered and confident. I look exactly like my dad, I never even shape my eyebrows because they are so thick and absolutely perfect like my dad. I think I look very pretty and don’t want to change anything I love to look like my dad
Yeah Rachel just needs a new husband and a new dad. And I’m glad at least one person on the panel recognized that and suggested therapy, but I mean it’s not like anything came out of her concern. Also omg she had nice teeth before, just slightly not perfectly aligned. Veneers are so unnecessary
Yeah i agree,, i honesty hated her husband. Like i cant believe he complained about work and going home. And not worried for his wife THAT WENT INTO INTENSE SURGERY. And he seemed so uninterested with her and distant. Like GOD i hope she dumps him bc he really is shitty. Ive experienced something like that and its the literal worst bc they really arent putting in that much effort even if they think they are they really arent and its like do you honestly love me if i cause you this emotional tiredness to pay attention/love me??? That part in a relationship should come naturally and easily.
I actually think Marnie (the last woman,) was very pretty in her "before." She was sleep deprived, and exhausted looking. . . Because she WAS exhausted. Marnie was a single mother and two kids means twice the effort. I'm not really convinced she needed all the work done. Just a trip to the spa.
While the creators of the show should rightfully be called out for this abomination of a show, the doctors who participated in this show should be too because they were also exploiting the insecurities of the competitors and the audience as well.
Not the mention they as surgeons are fully away of the long term complications from having so many procedures done in such a short period of time. Most of these women are still suffering from effects because of this show. They should have their licenses revoked!
@@KraXoom honestly. Dr.Debrowlift needs to go. Funny how on Botched he was all like "women don't need this. You don't need plastic surgery to feet better, but of you'd like it." Whereas on the swan. "You NEED a brow lift. You NEED a fat transfer. You NEED this and that."
I think we need to have a conversation about the intense pressures women feel they need to live up to when it comes to beauty. Men also have their own expectations career-wise, but there’s a lot less stigma around men aging and their bodies, even though many women literally _push a baby out of their uterus_ and are still expected to adhere to perfection while men aren’t.
@@phython124 the fact that women being open about the high standards of beauty we are expected to adhere to is always seen as dismissing men when the conversation isn’t even about u? have ur own conversations
We do have these conversations, this has been a talking point for a few years for political youtubers. the girlies have just turned it into some kind of feminist movement and bimbofication crap that they think will actually empower women💁♀️ they don’t want that conversation because it doesn’t benefit how majority of women already live lol
A little makeup and a nice haircut can go so far. They didnt need to go through this. I also have low self esteem and a little makeup and doing my hair (not necessarily styling it but even just putting braids on) makes me feel so much better.
Yepp. I also have low ish self esteem (I’ve been trying to get better) but I know for a fact that I’m not conventionally attractive but when I put on makeup and even just brush my hair and get dressed I feel instantly 1000x more confident and attractive
I remember that Turkish TV had a similar Show and the women that participate were going to hair salons and getting their hair and make up done, some of them even went to dentist for better teeth. They were having botox and filler at most. And it was refreshing seeing those women feeling better with themselves.
marnie wasn't ugly, she was depressed.... she looked tired because she was tired, not because of her features. she needed therapy, not a surgery, and plastic won't heal her depression... she looked good before and after, i hope she got the help she needed and is doing well
That woman’s husband really needs to look in a mirror and evaluate, she was already better looking than him and he had the fucking nerve to say that shit, hope she left his ass afterwards. It’s truly a mystery where cis het white men get the balls to say half the stuff they do and have the convictions they do.
I don't like calling people ugly (because tbh people aren't), but there are times being a lilll bit hypocritical is fine: he's just as ugly on the outside as he is on the inside.
What does this have to do with him being white?`Or cis? YOu are saying it like it only affects that group. If you would have said black and homosexual it would have been seen as problematic. Hypocritical
Did you ever get the chance to watch ‘Bridalplasty’? It pretty much has the same concept as ‘The Swan’ except the women were competing to get multiple plastic surgery procedures done just so they could “look good” for their wedding. It’s wild as hell.
The most hateful part of the show, is when a contestant gets booted off, and they tell her "your wedding will still go on, it just won't be perfect". Implying them not being as conventionally beautiful as possible means they won't have a "perfect wedding". Like??? Disgustang.
I remember one episode where the person was happy with her nose, but they kept pressuring her to change it and made it seem like she just wasn’t being cooperative.
As someone who's had some of those invasive surgeries that they had, I cannot BELIEVE the doctors let them exercise. And not seeing mirrors seems so bad for mental well being??? 😭😭😭
Especially the lady with the rude husband. I don't mean to body shame but has he ever picked up a mirror to look at himself? And he had the audacity to talk about his wife that way and be rude to her. Shameless.
@@checkmattee222 Is it just me, or did it seem like he was “negging” her? I think Mr. Insecure was worried that she’d figure out that she could do better. I also think he may have been cheating on her with the way he responded when she called him…
About the lady who was scared of olives... I think this is the first time I witnessed non-scripted fear on TV. I have already gone through the comment section and know the backstory, but even before I did, that entire scene of her fleeing out of pure horror was enough to give me goosebumps. I don't understand how the host and other stage performers plus the audience could find joy in it. Really chills the heart just thinking about it.
Like Edvasion said, I’m glad the women are happy after getting their procedures done (or at least seem to be) but idk if the trauma and pain is really worth it. These surgeries may have raised their self-esteem a bit, however, it really is just forcing them into the mold that society has created for conventional beauty. They definitely need that INTENSE therapy
The girl who hadn't dated in 10 years looked better with her original nose imo. Sometimes that width softens your appearance and balances your face out
Marnie was actually quite a beautiful lady. It’s so sad seeing these perfectly normal women feel like they are the ugliest people ever because of the intense beauty standards pushed on them
Fr, this made me so sad, they’re all beautiful, just a makeover and some therapy and stuff, some affirmations and such would’ve been great, they’re exploiting them when they’re vulnerable and hurt and it’s so disgusting
True! None of those 3 women needed surgery. All they needed was rest, make up, good hair care, gym and some therapy. They would get much better results without pain and risk.
That clip of the woman with the phobia of olives really bothers me. Phobias are legit, and the fact they'd exploit someone's phobia for cheap laughs on tv is infuriating. But ultimately, I do agree: average isn't a bad thing. Many of these woman could have accomplished similar changes to their appearance with makeup and hair styling. Average doesn't equal ugly. People told them that what they were wasn't good enough and compared them to others. If they feel better after surgery, that's great, but there's a lot of internal insecurity they need to face, because surgery isn't going to fix everything if the people around them have been treating them like they're not enough all their lives. I'll never judge people for getting surgery. Rather, I want people to have the right support around them so that no matter what they look like, they know they're valued and loved. Many of these women needed the therapy waaaaay more than the surgery, and many of them should have cut some of those people who made them feel ugly out of their lives.
@@cremepuffle I agree with you, I only used the word for lack of a better one. Ultimately, nobody should feel like they have to adhere to a rigid beauty standard (that changes pretty frequently) in order to be accepted and treated like they matter. And I think that was the point that was really missing from this show. Rachel's father, for example, instilled the idea in her from early on that she wasn't good enough. The problem wasn't really her looks. The problem was that her father had a crappy belief system about her and projected that crappy belief system onto her. She translated it into having a lack of worth, both internally and externally. Part of that belief was that if she looked "better," she'd have more value. But that's such a shallow view of value. She was never ugly. She was only surrounded by people who projected ugliness onto her.
@@vendetta12.12 I have a degree in clinical psychology, so I do know that. But this isn't how exposure therapy is done. It's done over an extended period of time in a controlled manner, with the exposure being done in gradual increments with a great deal of preparation for the person being treated. What you are seeing in this clip doesn't resemble exposure therapy in any way,, shape,, or form. I know it's scripted TV, but even then, this is horribly done. And frankly, we don't know what's in those contracts, and even if the person is an actor and doesn't have a phobia at all, it sets a very harmful precedent for viewers who think that's what exposure therapy is.
@@vendetta12.12 My issue is that exposure therapy is done gradually and slowly over many sessions. First starting off with talking about the phobia and showing pictures to eventually interacting with the phobia. Even if this entire thing is scripted and those are actually actors imagine how many people saw that episode and thought to try it with people they know who have phobias. I don't think any of those women were "ugly". But i hope it helpend them build up confidence, to put life in their own hands again. Btw. Edvasians hair looks great. Totally rocking the idol vibe
A few of these women had their lives ruined by this show. Their relationships ended, people didn't recognized them, and they didn't recognize their selves. Some of the crying is not happy and there was no therapy afterwards to deal with a whole new life/different face
It’s sad bc I inherited my dads “big nose” it’s longer and sticks out quite a bit more than the “small” girl nose. Obviously as a baby and toddler I didn’t realize I was that “different,” but as soon as I could talk and understand words I would get comments about my nose. Your nose is big! What’s wrong with your nose? Strangers I didn’t know, people on the Internet, etc. I’ve heard it so much now I’m basically desensitized to it. I don’t want to get plastic surgery on my nose bc I know it wouldn’t be for me it would just be for people to leave me alone but then I know they’d pick on something else, so
When the producer didn't like the reaction after the reveal, they had to do it again. Another thing about the show is, that the women didn't even know that the show was about a pageant. They only heard about the pageant in the end after the surgery and everything.
The biggest issue with this show is just how easy it seems to do things like surgeries. There are a lot of risk factors and possible infections that could occur. And also, the average person wouldn't be able to afford surgery. I would love to spend millions of dollars to make myself beautiful, but I don't have millions of dollars
I think that one of the biggest problems with plastic surgery glow-ups is that, in the early 2000s, plastic surgery seemed more like an "unattainable" thing, like, you either had to be a super rich celebrity or had to go to one of these shows, which it wasn't the reality for most people, but nowadays, with social media, it became more normalized, and even expected, to average looking, working class, people, to look like they had plastic surgery, and if they didn't, they should "glow-up" by having work done but idk i'm typing this at 11 pm maybe i should just go to sleep
Danny all of the women that you talked about were really beautiful especially the last one. Body dysmorphia is an awful thing to suffer from and it's coming from someone who hated every single part of me since I was a kid and ended up with a terrible ED.
I used to love this show when I was younger because I always thought I was ugly and was so excited that doctors could change peoples appearances so drastically. Now as an adult I’m disgusted by how they targeted people with low self esteem, that didn’t fit societal standards of what’s “beautiful”. Screw that.
What bugs me the most about this show is that they have no clue what they look like till the result day. Which can be traumatic to not recognize yourself.
A phobia is a crippling fear and while treating it does involve exposure therapy, ambushing someone with their fear can be trauma inducing, and the reality show, these women weren’t ugly, they had self esteem issues. They need therapy and a good support system. Like that mom who looked tired? It’s because she is tired! If she goes home to raising two kids on her own with no support and all the stress she’ll look tired again
I think I have fallen in love with Edvasian, hes so adorable, hes hilarious, and he always blind sides you with his comedic skills. Ugh can we be irl friends and laugh at the world as it burns?
Honestly, just a regular makeover for those women would be far more better ! No hurtful procedures, no stress or concerns over their final looks since they can't see themselves during the broadcasting...etc. Here, it doesn't seems that necessary at all. These girls were already good looking, they just didn't knew how to take care of themselves. Maybe teach them how to take care of their bodies/hair/skin would have produced the same exact results on a more healthy way !
Not the same exact results, makeup can only do so much for a crooked nose, but yes I agree with the sentiment. However, nobody would have watched it. It wouldn't be shocking enough. Gotta get them views
Or let people look how they look? Mad regressive to say they look fine but still say they need to change their bodies and skin. Sorry but yall really don’t help the current beauty standards for women
@@cremepuffle I was sharing solutions for these women to actually feel pretty, without surgery. They think they are basic and ugly by dressing in un unflattering way and not taking care of themselves at all...There's a fine line between unrealistic beauty standards/toxic ones that society push over to us and the simple fact of actually taking care of yourself and feeling satisfied with how you look. Do you really think I would even comment on the first place about how they look if they wouldn't care about it ? 🙄 When I say "changing it", I say improving it on a healthy way for allowing their confidence to grow, I don't think that they should follow trends or transform completely lmao- Just not neglecting themselves to simply not feel ugly 🤷♀️
This type of show and mindset of people (especially the plastic surgeon) legitimately makes me angry. These women were so beautiful before, in that they had a striking individuality to their features. They only needed some guidance on personal style, lifestyle, and how to get rid of toxic people in their circle.
It's sad to see the media making ppl think they have to look a certain way to be accepted. Half of the people on that show didn't even look bad. They just need some make-up and self confidence💓
Or people need to stop acting like looking good looks one way only🤷♀️ sorry self confidence wont help when people will think ur ugly regardless of confidence
@@Mia199603 I think make up should be an artistic & expressive thing not something to fit unrealistic & unnattainable ( even for rich famous people ) beauty standard.
@@cremepuffle and it would be better to conform to society somehow? beauty standards are ever changing, not to mention the fact that it definitely won’t stay as the years go on. with all due respect if you can’t be okay with how you look you will never know what it’s like to not base your self worth on the validation of other people.
Something about having others tell you what you need to change about yourself doesn't sit well with me. I'm not sure if they talk to these women and ask them what they actually want changed behind the scenes or not. But hey, like you said, so long as they're happy with the result, there's really nothing to complain about.
I feel really sad for Marsha, exercise, healthy eating, and laser hair removal could've achieved results she would've been happy with without changing her face, though she doesn't look awfully different from her original photos, I just feel sad most of these woman get unnecessary surgeries...
I hope that second woman divorced her husband and broke off contact to her dad- Like honestly, she looked fine before, her toxic surroundings are the main problem
I was born with a button nose that I've always been kind of insecure about, but others seem to think it's cute. Watching this video made me realize that I'd rather not look like I lost a fight to a kangaroo just to change my nose shape.
Some makeup, a hair cut, a new dress, and some therapy could have had a much more therapeutic effect than completely changing their identity, putting them in intense physical pain, isolating them from everyone they know and love, and starving and overworking them.
13:32 hm this actually happened in the show, a girl hated it because she (and I think her son unless that was another person) couldn't recognize her and off camera she was screaming to get her face back but on camera she was made to say that she loved it. She came on there because she wanted a tummy tuck due to excess skin she had on her stomach after weight loss, but ended up getting way more than that especially on her face Her name is Lorrie Arias
My dad always said that I was his carbon copy. That facial transition everyone goes through as a tween was especially terrible as a result because I was convinced that I looked like a boy. Extra: my face as a child changed into that ‘tween phase’ for a bit only to go back to exactly what it was before. I look more like my baby pictures than pictures from 4 years ago
Everyone seems to forget that plastic surgery could potentially kill you from complications. A small mistake with anaesthesia and boom, dead. Unlikely, but a higher chance than if you just never got the surgery. Just something to keep in mind because all these Instagram and Tik Tok trends glamourizing surgery for people who were perfectly fine before is honestly worrying.
I love the ever changing focus of this channel lol Clothing, beauty, art, faking your identity, reality tv, art AND reality tv, back to faking your identity, .back to clothing and beauty, and reality TV... again
I remember watching this show and wishing that I could be on it. I can sympathize with them. Growing up as the ugly kid in school with acne, people made me feel like I was a monster. People constantly drilled into my brain the notion that only gorgeous people are worthy of being loved. Even now, as an adult; even with my acne now gone and puberty having changed my face into something more socially acceptable...I still struggle with low self esteem. That idea that you can only be loved, respected and treated well if you look perfect, like a supermodel is still internalized in me. So, if this show was able to make them feel better about themselves, there's nothing wrong with that. We live in a superficial world unfortunately.
About the "average" woman in the Swan, one of the producers actually said that her husband did not said she looked average , the producers mix several audios
I had plastic surgery to fix my nose after it was broken in an accident. The recovery was pretty rough for me and I was in a lot of pain. And that was just one surgery. I can't imagine getting multiple operations at once and having to recover from all that. It sounds like it would be very painful and very hard on your body.
Thank you for saying cosmetic procedures rather than plastic surgery, plastic surgery includes reconstructive procedures and gender affirmation procedures and when those are all grouped together it can cause a bit of confusion and often leads to those who get necessary surgeries being criticized. So I really like the way you handle the topic
Apparently, the producers edited the shit out of this to make the families seem much worse and more unsupportive than they were. One of the restrictions was on how much time they could spend calling their families (like ten minutes, once a week). So part of the deal was three or four months almost totally separated from their families and each other and not being able to see themselves in a mirror. Luxeria did a really extensive episode by episode takedown on this, so it’s cool to see your take. I hope you will consider watching Bridalplasty, too. Also, your hair is great. Love the channel!
I'm so conflicted between embracing people making changes to feel beautiful, and just changing the standards that made these people feel ugly to begin with.
Dont embrace anyone becoming a standard to be happy. Thats just further upholding these standards and letting them know that it actually matters when it doesn’t. Embrace people for how they are, thats the only way women will ever truly heal from societies disgusting unreachable standards
The first woman may just have pcos, I recognize the symptoms.. sadly very few people know about this condition, while quite a lot of women have it, it is often undiagnosed as well…
That mother of two looks and feels drained because she has two kids. All she needed was some therapy to boost her self esteem and a week vacation away from the kids.
Holy. Imagine going through all of this mental and physical torture to make yourself feel better. Then be told the person next to you is more attractive and you get sent home. Yeah...cause that will help your already low self-esteem.
I’m sorry but the people running the show are literally making them feel like crap so they can want the surgery even more. And the people who disliked them for their looks are suddenly acting like they were friends all along. How inspiring. Also, justice for his kidneys.
There was a (slightly less extreme) show in the UK that had a similar vibe called '10 Years Younger'. They would ask people in the street how old they thought the contestant was at the start of the show then after some procedures and a makeover they'd ask the public again in the hopes they'd made them look 10 years younger. Oh there was another short form makeover series in the UK too called 'Snog, Marry, Avoid' where they'd take contestants that usually wore too much make up and give them a makeover after a roasting from the general public. In that one the makeover was done by some AI/robot named... POD..? (For some reason)
Yeah, but Snog Marry Avoid was some great trash. No cosmetic procedures, just a way-too-sensible haircut and they always looked ten times more boring afterwards XD
There is a very similar version in the U.S. but it's 'Run, Marry, or F*ck', or something like that. The lady only changes the person's attire though. I watched a little of it when I was younger and found it interesting. Although I thought some of the attire the people would have on before were fine. Some of the adjustments I could get around because the person really did need a little help, and it seemed more therapeutic.
The one that was actually good was "how to look good naked" which avoided shaming and surgery, and focused on accepting themselves for themselves and stuff like getting a properly fitted bra (genuinely a life changing experience if you've spent much of your life without one)
I found your channel a couple of weeks ago, and have been binge watching your videos since. I am so drawn to your wholesome personality, you always find a way to say something nice about people, to validate and uplift. I was tearing up during this video, because you were so kind and positive about each person on the show. There was one moment in the video, from one of the girls, that I related to, something that always brought me down and left my self esteem so low, and when you just casually said that there was nothing wrong with that, and why are they making it seem like a bad thing, I felt so validated and wanted to cry, and hug you, and just... Thank you. Seriously, thank you, you beautiful soul. I love you and your videos. Btw, Your hair looks amazing, you have a beautiful style.
Imagine this show but instead of surgery, they put the “before” women together, and they realized that they were all beautiful in their own ways and didn’t need surgery as much as clothes and hairstyles that brought them joy
As a daughter, my dad and everyone else has told me how much I look like him and I can confirm that is an awful thing to say to a child if you don’t want them to be self conscious
Check out Luxeria. Her commentary on this show is amazing just as your’s is. She reviews the swan and bridalplasty. Who in a board room even comes up this stuff.
I’m guessing you meant “bridalplasty” like for ladies getting surgery before their wedding day. But seeing it spelled like that and next to “the swan” makes me imagine people getting surgeries to look like birds lmao. Like instead of rhinoplasties I’m imagining they put a beak over their nose

Telling the woman to exercise right after the surgery is pretty fcked up.
what long term complications do they have?

Veneers are just killing her dental health at that point. They should never touch healthy teeth. Maybe braces could have done it
She needs a divorce so bad plus he talks about her looks when he in the first place looks fucking crusty
honestly Im Hoping Rachel could have more confidence with her new face and recognize her worth and divorce that dude ‼️‼️‼️
Plastic Surgery did NOT give Rachel the CONFIDENCE to Divorce that JERK of a husband.
She was clearly extremely depressed. She needed therapy, not plastic surgery. Surgery doesn't fix depression.
While the creators of the show should rightfully be called out for this abomination of a show, the doctors who participated in this show should be too because they were also exploiting the insecurities of the competitors and the audience as well.
The dentist got her medical license revoked due to giving too many veneers with no reason to give them, along with incorrectly filing teeth and such.
Not the mention they as surgeons are fully away of the long term complications from having so many procedures done in such a short period of time. Most of these women are still suffering from effects because of this show. They should have their licenses revoked!

Yep
The premise of this show basically perpetuates the idea that for women, NOTHING is worse than not being attractive.
This way of thinking still exist very strongly. Sure we have body acceptance and stuff but fundamentally at its core, nothing has changed
Every woman needs intense therapy when it comes to appearance especially unconventional women
What is an edvasion?

yep. i think when people get a LOT of surgery, multiple sessions of therapy should be *required*. If they still want the surgery after that, so be it
Luckily its not up to you to decide whether things are worth it to other people. They knew what they signed up for, they wanted to look different.
The girl who hadn't dated in 10 years looked better with her original nose imo. Sometimes that width softens your appearance and balances your face out
Marnie was actually quite a beautiful lady. It’s so sad seeing these perfectly normal women feel like they are the ugliest people ever because of the intense beauty standards pushed on them
Fr, this made me so sad, they’re all beautiful, just a makeover and some therapy and stuff, some affirmations and such would’ve been great, they’re exploiting them when they’re vulnerable and hurt and it’s so disgusting
yes! I thought the same, saw her and thought she is stunning just tired and needs new haircut and clothes
True! None of those 3 women needed surgery. All they needed was rest, make up, good hair care, gym and some therapy. They would get much better results without pain and risk.
Imagine doing all that work to feel better about yourself just to be called uglier than another girl that did the same thing
What even is average? Idk lets stop thinking beauty looks one way.
Same I'm stuck with balding hair at 18, narrow chin and wide forehead plus acne.
I think that one of the biggest problems with plastic surgery glow-ups is that, in the early 2000s, plastic surgery seemed more like an "unattainable" thing, like, you either had to be a super rich celebrity or had to go to one of these shows, which it wasn't the reality for most people, but nowadays, with social media, it became more normalized, and even expected, to average looking, working class, people, to look like they had plastic surgery, and if they didn't, they should "glow-up" by having work done
but idk i'm typing this at 11 pm maybe i should just go to sleep
The olive woman is afraid of olives because it reminds her of her dead parent's eye when she found them😭 it was so fucked up
I've never understood why using people's fears in media is "comedy"...
Ah yes. Body dysmorphia and low self-esteem. Those poor women needed love, acceptance, and therapy. I hope they're all doing ok now.
What Not To Wear is better for that type of thing, plus the hosts are funny (but sometimes in a mean way)

All this work done just to still be called ugly.
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE.
It sounds like it would be very painful and very hard on your body.
hope your doing better now!

I’m sorry but the people running the show are literally making them feel like crap so they can want the surgery even more. And the people who disliked them for their looks are suddenly acting like they were friends all along. How inspiring.
Also, justice for his kidneys.
I am in the camp of “do what makes you happy, but do it safely”. This doesn’t seem very safe to me, both physically and emotionally.
you should look into this one show i recall being "Bridalplasty" where brides competed in challenges for plastic surgery procedures....
YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO GOOD KING
Your hair and your outfit are just- idk man i just love it
Imagine this show but instead of surgery, they put the “before” women together, and they realized that they were all beautiful in their own ways and didn’t need surgery as much as clothes and hairstyles that brought them joy
As a daughter, my dad and everyone else has told me how much I look like him and I can confirm that is an awful thing to say to a child if you don’t want them to be self conscious
Your sarcasm is addictive I need help🤦♀️🤣🤣
The woman scared of olives was scared of them because she saw her fathers dead body and his eyes looked like olives... yeah
If my husband says I look average he ain’t my husband no more 😂😂😂
I love that you speak in a very unique tone. Mostly sounds so calm and relaxing!😘
Check out Luxeria. Her commentary on this show is amazing just as your’s is. She reviews the swan and bridalplasty. Who in a board room even comes up this stuff.
I love the stunning, the gorgeous, fabulous Luxeria! I'm never shopping at BHS again!
@@klash8 haha that is so good. Yeah I love her content. I like her collaboration with Roly. He is amazing too and their podcasts are so damn good.
THE SWAN GIRLS
I’m guessing you meant “bridalplasty” like for ladies getting surgery before their wedding day. But seeing it spelled like that and next to “the swan” makes me imagine people getting surgeries to look like birds lmao. Like instead of rhinoplasties I’m imagining they put a beak over their nose
@@sarahcha yeah it was a grammatical error. There was a show back in the day that each week soon to be brides would have a challenge each week to win a plastic surgery procedure off their wish list to become the “perfect” bride. It only lasted one season but it was insanity haha
I love your sense of humor. You're so happy
His voice and expressions are so smooth and adorable that whenever he jokes, I forget to laugh, then after some time, I am like oh shit, it was a joke, then I rewind and laugh.✨👀
Dude your sarcasm gives me life. Also, that outfit is everything!
I remember this show. I watched it for the shock value but found it repulsive the way these women were called average or not feminine enough. A lot of them had issues beyond insecurity about their looks. It didn't come back because of all the negative press.
I appreciate the Hu Tao music at 6:44 I thought something was wrong w my phone for a sec but was kinda happy it was put in
I still can't over that lady's reaction to cotton balls
dang your hair looks amazing the past weeks, i love it
I had heard of this show before and I really expected that it would mainly include ppl w some type of deformity.... I find it crazy that it seems so unacceptable for women to be "average" even though mathematically that's where most of us would HAVE to fall under (though you'd hope your partner doesn't think of you that way cause that's sad). First two ladies really could've done so much w haircuts, some makeup, cute clothes, glasses that suit the face better... And then that last lady was pretty af even w seemingly no makeup.
If a guy you're with thinks of you as average then he's clearly not the one and you need to leave asap to save yourself from the trauma.
