Honestly I’m with Leo on this one. Staying in HK seems a lot more healthier for you and your family. I don’t know how safe America really is! Plus you have your loved ones always by your side in HK. Just find a bigger place or smaller home in the suburbs.
Depending on where they want to live, there are many nice, beautiful safe places in America, you just have to look it up not all of America is bad you know!
I do understand help is needed and nice, in the end it’s up to them and see where it takes them.

I love Saikung, slower living, expat-friendly, awesome views. The 4th place you were showed had the best room for Auntie Rose. I hate how often helpers are mistreated in HK and it shows even in the floorplans.

If I had a choice between HK and US, I wouldn't even need to think twice about it. HK is literally one of the best places I've ever lived, it's such a fun city, easy access to everything and it's safe. I move back and forth between HK and UK and I always feel so depressed and sad when I'm in the UK. Can't wait to be back in Hong Kong again.

If you bring your nanny you’ll have to pay for the cost of living in CA. My brother lives in Chicago and with 1 child he was paying $60K plus her health insurance. They are now paying more with another child. Just something to think about if you decide to move back!
Honestly you moving to Hong Kong really showed me as a viewer and fan, how much happier you could be . You seem so at peace ; surrounded by family a feeling of safety and exploring a city and enjoying life with your precious baby , I think that is worth pursuing that life of pure happiness .

I am from Hong Kong but live in Canada. Everything is so familiar to me! Haven’t visited my parents in HK since pandemic. Hopefully I will be able to visit them this year.
I also have been thinking about life, and how I want to be more quiet, and low-key. and omgosh Dove really is the cutest!

Hello from another who just relocated back to HKG! Sai Kung tbh is 20 mins from Choi Hung on a minibus.... totally easy to commute via transportation! I'd also recommend Clear Water Bay, buses are great there too..! I currently am on Lamma and with the ferries every half hour, its pretty good!
If your budget is similar to what these houses are, I'd recommend other village house areas (shatin, taiwai, fotan) that offer the convenience and comfort.
I used to live in Discovery Bay and it was my favourite thing about hk. I could spend the day in the busy city but come back home to a calm and chill neighborhood. Living by the water was also amazing and the community in DB is so friendly.

Wow, that city was so beautiful. If I could live somewhere like that I'd never want to come back to America, seriously!! I think the pace there would be great for a young growing family, so peaceful and those homes were gorgeous. Plus you could keep your helper without having to struggle with visa troubles.

Well the United States is a bigger country so it may seem like there is a lot going on here and like it is unsafe, but it really isn't. We just have a huge population and things going on around the country. There is a lot of opportunity here and honestly I feel like there is nowhere like here. I've lived in Spain for a few months and there is no place like home in the United States. Plus many amazing schools and Dove will thrive.

I have an a 4 year age gap with two of my sisters and it’s really great.
Beautiful family❤❤gut feeling is to stay in Hong Kong till baby #2 is a few months even 1yo so you get enough help. Then if you still want you can go back to OC for bigger space. By this time bigger sis would be enjoying school better already. Anyways, good luck and I’m sure you will have a clear path following your heart❤

My previous employer wanted to take me to states but my application got denied twice:( So I recommend to get a tourist visa for her first and not a working visa. Some of my friends made it to the USA but with tourist visa. I believe they got 10 years tourist visa. So that would be OK.
Pretty sure it’s illegal to work on a tourist visa…

I had my first baby 2 months ago and omg it’s hard! I want him to have a sister or a brother in the future but I’m not sure if I want another baby 😢He has half brother but he’s 8 yrs old right now.

I have a sister who’s 9 years younger than me and it’s just us two! I’d still take having a sister who is way younger than not having one at all! As kids we never fought because there’s nothing to compete over and got along real well 😊 it was nice always having someone to talk to besides parents!
