The natural landscape of BOLIVIA is so unique, you photographed it so beautifully! Rabbits in the desert are so unimaginable! This is the first time I see a rabbit that can climb rocks. It has such strong vitality! The cartoon characters on that car are so well drawn, so talented! I like to see Chris’ smile, it feels so warm! Thank you very much for sharing, super great job! 👍🥰🙏
I'm really enjoying you showing a different side to South America, most people only hear of risks and trouble on the news but in reality just being mindful of your surroundings (as you should anywhere anyway) when travelling most places are perfectly ok to visit. Spent three years in Brazil and never saw or experienced anything but warm and friendly people and the same goes for every other country in South America I had the opportunity to visit during that time
Yeah it’s funny that Brazil has such a dangerous reputation to the point that many people simply won’t visit. Whenever we meet travelers that have been there absolutely nothing has happened to them. We actually haven’t met any travelers that have had any bad situation happen there yet

I am an avid follower of Jumping Places. I have to agree with you that Bolivia has many shocking and amazing landscapes that I was completely unaware of. Prior to your series on Bolivia I was only familiar with the high altitude city of La Pax and its cable car systems. Thanks for making me more aware of the wonders of South America.😍
yes even we are quite shocked, especially how big the area is. There are literally hundreds of lagoons like this around here. It is about to get even better soon too as we head to the atacama desert in chile :D
Great that you all have visited Uyuni and shared with us your impressions of this amazing gigantic salt flat former lake. I hope you also get the chance to visit the beautiful freshwater Lake Titicaca which is where so many Andean civilizations and cultures have been centered -going even further back than the Incas and even more intriguingly mysterious!
Unfortunately not on this trip, we thought we were going to visit ticitaca when we were in la paz but then we realized its actually too far to do it for a day trip. There were day trips available but it was very little time there and you spend about 8-9 hours in the van.
@@JumpingPlaces That's too bad! By any chance are you going to venture south past the Chilean border to see the Atacama Desert (the driest spot on Earth)? What's amazing is that there have been people living in Uyuni and Atacama from time immemorial despite the extreme challenges of water scarcity! Regardless, you've given us another treat in spending time in Uyuni! Thanks!
Great video again Chris and Carol with amazing scenery, loved the pink lake and volcanos. The viscacha were really tame too taking food from the hand...in Scotland the rabbits are very timid and I don't think they would eat from your hand. South America must be the most beautiful continent in the world. All the best guys!! ❤
Absolutely beautiful I’d love to visit for sure! The little rabbit like animals are chinchillas I used to have 2 pets chinchillas they are very sweet natured cuddly but quite naughty and funny. Looking forward next vlog 👍🏼 Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
With the most beautiful people too, we can learn so much from their cultures. Makes me want to escape the rat race soon. Thanks for all your awesome videos Chris and Carol.
I've been watching you for almost 2 years now and love the content. I think it's time that I would like to see a video of all the things you had trouble with....immigration, illness, missed flights, bad bnbs.....you make everything look so simple, it might be time to see more of the rough stuff (yes you show lots in your videos but how about a full length video of bloopers)
@@JumpingPlaces yeah they definitely looked bigger! I love watching your channel! I went to Tulum and did the canal float after I saw your video. Carol gave me the courage to rent a car and drive from Cancun to Tulum! Thanks for all the great content!
Btw, I have been to Brasil twice since the end of July. I spent two weeks in Rio (Hotel Nacional Rio de Janiero in Sao Conrado) and then 1.5 weeks in Sao Luis. Beautiful country. Hiked to top of Pedra Bonita and in Tijuca.
I've been to Peru but not Bolivia. Thanks to this and the two previous videos, it's gone straight to the top of my MUST VISIT list! I wonder if its always so cold, ( I don't like being cold😢), or if it gets warmer in, for example, January/ February ?
The rabbits look so similar to the 'Dassie ; here in South Africa , strangely related to the elephant , think ears are smaller , same as tails . Nice cooked apparently !
Wow! You got to see a pink lake. There are only a few places in tge world that have pink lakes and as you mentioned it alll depends on the plankton in the water having the right conditions.
Such an interesting part of the world. I would love to see the Atacama Desert, especially the stars at night. I think you mentioned it is in your plans to visit there, so looking forward to that. The lead bike at 7:20 looks like he's in first gear of a 200-gear mountain bike. 😀 Seriously cute rabbits(?). Great stuff as usual.
That shot of you enjoying your meal in the evening... The scene in the window in the background looks like it's an image from a screen-saver. Utterly unreal!
Very nice video and definitely showed that it is a desert up at 4200 m. You didn't say whether the sulphur was smelly at Laguna Hedionda - and you know that "hedionda" means smelly or stinky in Spanish. The flamingos were great. The natives eat the vizcachas - escabeche de vizcacha. They are like rabbits, but they can jump from rock to rock and their tails help for balance, like cats. I was in Ollagüe on the motorcycle and in the morning the bikes would not start due to the cold.
Hey there, yes the lake was smelly. Not as strong as we smell at geysers but still smelly. Wow the bike wouldn’t even start, it was brutally cold in the mornings for sure
Excellent video. I think that the rabbit lookalike creature is called 'Viscacha', and it is unique to the area and also related to the famous 'Chinchilla'.
I have been watching you two for quite a while now and have seen Carol take like a zillion pictures with an actual camera. What the heck does she do with them?
I’m curious… Do you get any cellular service out in the middle of nowhere? I would imagine the transportation vehicles would have some type of CB radio or satellite radio/phone to be able to call someone if they broke down…..!!!! Also, the video is simply amazing… Keep them coming…!!!! Stay safe. Love you guys….!!!
We didn't have any internet for about 2 days on this tour, not sure if there was a signal for emergency calls though. The vans kind of stick together with vans from other tours so they help each other out. There was actually another van that broke down and our driver helped them
We are not too sure, we just went to one of the agencies on the main road in Uyuni to book it. There are many of them and they all do the same identical tour it seems. Our van actually has people from two different agencies that they joined together
I heard that sleeping in the guesthouses during that kind of trip is extremely cold, is that true? I am thinking of doing local bus ride from Uyni to Chile
