      I know for a fact you aren’t a fighter based on how ignorant you are. You probably heard that bs quote somewhere and thought it was legit. That’s absolutely not the case. You need to be honest with yourself or else you’ll bite off more than you can chew

    Yes he did, He has 7 submissions on his record.
    3 rnc 1 armbar 1 to injury and 1 to punishment.
    If you watched his fights in Pride not just the UFC and his earlier fights in GC. KOTC and Dangerzone you'd see he used to mix his attack up with wrestling, muay thai, boxing and submissions.
    The guy trained with Colin Oyama a sick Muay Thai coach and Dean Lister an elite BJJ trainer when he was with Team Punsihment and Team Oyama.

  • @ZIPPERG00CH
    @ZIPPERG00CH 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, that's not according to my "medical expertise." I never said that. Dan Henderson wasn't even kick. Having a "knee injury" is not the same as getting your ACL kicked backwards and tearing it apart. It's the difference of getting a neck injury and breaking your neck apart. And no, I never said Jon's knee strikes are anywhere near the force of a 250+ pound guy's strikes since he's not even 250 pounds. Read some books (not google) on deadly martial arts techniques, knee strikes is always there.

    I dont even know why knees on the head to a down opponent is illegal but not kicks to the knee. Knees to the head can temporary concuss you, kicks to the knee can permanently damage your body.

    the knee kick shoudnt be made illegal because its a good tactic to keep an opponent from closing the distance on you. its kind of like a front push kick except lower down.

  • @mrgohanlovesvidel
    @mrgohanlovesvidel 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i can see where Rampage is coming from in certain instances. it's a dirty tactic because when a wrestler is crawling towards you to the cage in the UFC, you have so very limited options in terms of what you can do due to not being able to kick or knee in the head and worrying about them shooting on you when you throw a punch. don't get me wrong, i don't mind wrestling, just hate when fighters exploit it. wrestling's often abused at times because it get's too much credit in the scoring system

  • @Immortalsyn83

    It's easily one of the most dangerous techniques in grappling, most people don't have time to tap fast enough unless you apply slow pressure which won't happen during a fight.

  • @mrgohanlovesvidel
    @mrgohanlovesvidel 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    trust me, if i didn't know or wasn't sure what i was talking about, i wouldn't have stated anything towards you. i agreed with you that Machida won round 3, hands down but YOU are counting TOTAL STRIKES. I was counting SIGNIFICANT STRIKES. when i say SIGNIFICANT strikes, i meant POWER SHOTS. not little shots or total strikes. don't be ignorant. fights shouldn't always be judged on total strikes
    i really need to choose my words more carefully lol...

  • @ZIPPERG00CH
    @ZIPPERG00CH 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to disagree. Choke holds put people to sleep, KOs just hurt them a little/sleep, arm bars, knee bars, and foot locks can submit them or break their bones. Whatever happens to them, they'll still be able to fight again whether in 3 months or 1 year. Once you push back and torn an ACL, you may never practice ever again and might not even walk properly. This is why it's illegal in football to takle someone on the knee.

  • @Immortalsyn83
    @Immortalsyn83 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    UFC champions can potentially make more money in a single night than most people will see in a life time. Strikers are already limited as it is in the octagon, they do not need to restrict additional moves. Like I said, a heel hook is far more devastating as far as potential damage than a knee kick.

  • @rrtodd95
    @rrtodd95 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    He's only 35.
    Randy Couture debuted at 34. Dan Henderson is the #1 contender to Jon Jones belt and he's 42.
    Rampage fights for the paycheck. He doesn't care about winning or losing anymore. He's not washed up he just doesn't care anymore.

    I agree with the last part but Jones knows what he's doing that's why he doesn't get called for eye poking. Davis was different cause he actually threw a strike with his hand open. Jones just does that to utilize his reach. A palm to the face is not illegal man

    I have one quick question. How does one of the best MMA shows on the net, with one of the best MMA reporters not have more views and more support? Ariel Helwani Is great at asking a question and letting the GUEST of the show answer. He only interjects himself when its needed or keeps the interview fluid and moving. Anyways, my point is MMA Fighting needs more views and support. 21.5k views and only 500 likes? C'mon!!!

  • @mrgohanlovesvidel
    @mrgohanlovesvidel 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    you're right about arm bars and knee bars being just as dangerous but at least you have the choice of tapping before it hyper extends too much. if you don't tap and your arm or leg snaps then that's your call. the front knee kick in other words, you don't have a choice whether or not letting it get injured, it just happens. it can hinder your knee useless and can end your whole career. hell, you may not even be able to walk if your knee is hindered. like the guy said, it's basic common sense...

  • @4iamu
    @4iamu 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with you, Jones will school Rampage every time. However, the point Rampage makes about Jones with the open fingers to the eyes and the whack knee kicks is a good one. Honestly, as good as Jones is, do you think he really has to resort to possibly disabling a fighter or ending his career? The UFC definitely needs to make those knee kicks illegal.

    the reason why leg kicks are so dangerous from Jon Jones is that he aim it not at the thigh or side of leg calf but his aim is at the knee joint. Everybody knows that if you get damage to your knee joints - there go you feeding your family. As for some of those replies in the defense to kicks to the knees as being better the punches to the head - you are wrong. Blunt trauma vs a dispersed impact are two different things. Blunt trauma causes more damage because of the force being compact.

    It's just something many older fighters have in my eyes. the guys like Wanderlei,Rampage and some others have. They fought so much on the highest levels of martial arts. Imagine 15 of more years of martial arts fighting take a toll on the body. even with pro training and diets. Also injuries from the past can have a factor combined with the age. i'm not suprised older fighters are kinda slacking in the octagon from time to time. But it's a normal thing. it's life.
